In this video I try to explain how I chose a blade for any given cut. First I look at the size of the waste area and how intricate the cut is. The smaller and more detailed the cut the smaller the blade I use. For very fine fretwork I will use a 1 or 3. But 80 percent of my cuts are made with a 5 with a 3 or 7 for most other cuts. Other factors that determine blade size and type is thickness of the wood and density such as oak vs pine. The thicker the material and the more dense the material usually calls for a larger blade.

Thank you , your videos are always informative
Thank you for watching.
You're like me I have one through 12 each blades and most of my work is cut out with the ones 3 once five
I keep several dozen of the fives and much less of the others, I kind of got there on my own but then learned that is what most scrollers use.
That 4-8-0 Steam Locomotive is beautiful. How much would something like that cost 🤔
I am not sure yet. It is not near finished and I have not decided how I will display it or what the final outcome will be. I have been working on it a little at a time but summertime takes a lot of my 'spare' time away.
