I go to my drive through food bank in Maine to get my box of food.

Just cut the bad area from the tomato and other fruit and veggies if needed
The whole piece usually isn't bad then I pitch the bad part to my compost or garden

Very nice food pantry haul.don't throw the entire tomato away. Cut the bad part off and use the rest.I do that often when I need to.
