I would add Monroe’s (for their awesome red chili) and Los Cuates (for their salsa). I also love Sadie’s and Padilla’s… oh and fried ice cream at Gardunos is top tier lol
That was fun! You need to do a weekly run of other restaurants in New Mexico, not just ABQ... PERIOD! I like the casual way you do your critiques. Looks pretty honest and stay true with the commentary.
Sadie's! Aaw! I remember when Sadie's was a real hole in the wall restaurant in the Valley Bowl bowling alley. The wait for a table was sometimes 3 hours. My how they've grown. You really had to be a local back then with an acquired taste to tolerate the heat of the chile. It's a little tame now for tourists. Still Yum!
I lived and ate in ABQ over 20 years ago. I don't think any of my favorite places besides Sadie's survived (and they came after I left). I left a long time ago because of crime. I'm in NW NM now (after travelling around the country) and we lost a lot of good restaurants during the covid lockdowns. I like real Mexican food (but it is sometimes bland), I like Tex-Mex food (but it is often mis-represented), and I like New Mexican food (that is the green chile) when they cook it right. We still have some good options in the 4-corners, but we lost some as well.
When food is delivered, you lose the freshness and textures you have by dining in. Also, for most people, once they settle on a couple of favorite restaurants, they simply don't explore much more, which means their judgements are very limited.
Locals have rose colored glasses and may not be as exposed to better restaurants growing up. Sadie's and El Pinto are below average. EL Patio is best New Mexican restaurant and Flora is best gourmet mexican restaurant. Whataburger.. nah, Blakes better but best burger is Phat Staxx Trombino's and Mario's are solid Italian restaurants but M'Tuccis Bar Roma is the best Italian Restaurant.
I’m seriously convinced that people who like NM cuisine have no actual taste buds. Quit hyping up bland food. Green chile is whack and not a seasoning. Start with using salt and pepper, which they don’t use here in ABQ. Been here for 7 years and still cannot find a decent restaurant. Sadie’s was by far the worst I’ve ever had in my life.
@@TheModeRed sure man. What state do you live in? I’ve been to them all. Let me know and I’ll give you my recommendation so you can test my palate. Lol.
@@TheModeRed Pelican’s Blackened Prime Rib if you want meat. Mexican, actually Mexican, Taqueria Mexico. Their burritos are cheap and big. Don’t forget the salsa.
Surprised no one mentioned El Modelo
Absolutely
Stuffed sopaipillas are the bomb!
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. I love the food here. You guys did a great job, and I love the inserted bloopers too.

Our favorite places are Rutilios, Sopas, Benny's and Teofilios. Also not New Mexican but Chens is a popular all time favorite for almost 40 years.
Golden pride carne adobada burrito. But you have to add cheese. They have the best adobada I have ever tried and lived here 46 years.
I love all new Mexico chilli but las cuates chilli is another level I buy the case and send up state to my family they love it

Los Compadres is the has the best Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande!
I always believed the "no such thing as bad pizza" until I tried Dion's... yet people here love it. Rumors Pizza is next in Albuquerque.
Man Dion’s is the best. Not sure what happened to your pie.
Frontier for me!
Casa benavides is a very good place to eat. Also El charrito is good too.
Hell yeah El charritos is the spot for breakfast my favorite
I miss Padilla’s carne adovada! Had to move away a few years ago and I still dream of it.
Where is it in never heard of it
Good for you guys
No presentation score for a to-go box. Save that for sit down meals
Sadies is my favorite!

I live in Abq now but from Farmington and tbh Si Senor is still one of my all timers

Carne Adovada is pork, not chicken….
Why is she coming with the rookie scores? One bite everyone knows the rules

Wow, the choices made on this video are odd. It’s almost like you spoke to New Mexicans.
Sadie's is overrated.
Meth
sadies is trash. literally worst food I've ever eaten

I am so intrigued! What restaurants do you like? I believe in seasoning too!
