The lizard-like minion is an urban tale creature called Chupacabra,which lives by sucking blood from its tongue.

Ah is that what it is? I know what chupacabra is, but I've always thought it was like a blood sucking dog ect, like the texas blue dog. And there is different forms with the new movie about the chupacabra and other things like Ben 10.
Now that I think about it, it would be really cool if the game implemented regional folktales in side quests. A version of La Llarona would be interesting to see, which is really the only one I heard as a kid-or at least remember.
@@iceman3317 Eh there's different versions of the Chupacabra much like the Wendigo (albeit, the Wendigo seen in entertainment was influenced by European settlers, I think). Some versions of the Chupacabra portray it as a dog-like creature but the more common portrayal is that of an alien looking creature
That gear is very Mad Max, Fist of the North Star inspired.

Hey Meoni, just wanted to note that for the treasure dungeon (Cenote ja ja Gural) the first word is pronounced se-no-te. Which is a natural pit or sinkhole with exposed groundwater.

FYI the flying squirrel mount is a Sugar Glider (a type of marsupial), and not actually a squirrel
Sugar gliders don’t have bushy striped tails though. It’s just a squirrel/glider-adjacent creature made up for a video game.
@@wadeyyy They took some liberties with the tail stripes, but otherwise it completely looks like the sugar gliders we have in our barn (Vic, Australia). Which do have bushy tails.
Considering Flying Squirrels are from the Americas and Sugar Gliders aren't, they're PROBABLY intending it to be a Squirrel, regardless of the stripes.
@@wadeyyy you should look up mosaic and ringtail sugar gliders. Just because you havent seen something doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

I'm not really a fan of any of them. I'd honestly have to see them in the game, but I love Mad Max. The whole leather fetish gear was always something I looked the other way with. Sometimes it looked cool, but it depends, ya know?

I feel like the leopard and the kitty minions were specifically made for me, since I've practically turned my character into a cat lady with all the cat minions I've collected.
they couldnt stop laughing in the live letter at the pelu pelu name, Aimi pronounced it "Whatchu Makey Makey" which seems a bit on the nose for a crafter based beast tribe
the car, the bikes, the mad max gear, the wings... HOLY CRAP. i've never done a raid series grind for the mounts, but those look awesome. AND a sugar glider mount?!?! 🤯

Thank you for saying this. I'm big on not giving myself too many spoilers before a new expansion launches because I like to be surprised, so I have been really weighing if I want to watch it or not and wondering how bad with spoilers it was. So, seeing you say this kind of solidifies that I don't want to watch it. At least not yet.

With them using wings as the mounts for the trial series, I am wondering if they are going to give Alexander's wings as the final mount.
One thing to tkae note of with the trailer....The music. Listen to the tonal shift between Tuliwherever and Solution Nine.....Very interesting.
12:45 so happy there’s people in the crowd stands, it always bothered me how the Kugane PVP arena is an empty arena, like why design us to PvP in an arena if you’re not gonna put any fans in the stands?

@melz2195 me thinks they meant the CC map, but to be fair I don't think I will have enough time to inspect every details on a pvp map while I'm being stunned alot.
That roleplay gear makes me think 40k hive gangs had a baby with mad max.

YoushiP teased the wings mount in his interview with you Meoni. when he explained thy the wings wouldn't work when on mounts. he said it was because they take up the same memory slot. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .... LoL
As someone who already tried doing mad max/raider glams and got disappointed by the lack of options i'm stoked, same with the scifi stuff.

Question, it will be my first expansion and I'm mainly a crafter. I'm a bit confused on how the gear progression will be.
Currently pentamelded, does this mean that whenever we hit 100 on DoH/DoL we should transition to the crafter gear added in 7.0 and then later switch again on 7.05?

I'm pretty sure you got that wrong about the crafted gear. It's supposed to be leveling gear. So like within the 92-98 range. You may have been confused with how they said that since they were talking about role playing in regards to the role quests

WING MOUNTS!!! ive been dying to have wing mounts. i love the idea of being my own mount, its why i liked the Phoenix anniversary mount, but was disappointed slightly when i learned i dont turn into the mount itself, im just invisible on its back

correction that isnt Brute Justice, that is Oppressor from A1.
Better then "hide when interacting" would be "LOAD NPC's FIRST", so you could interact with them as soon as possible, instead of 5 minutes latter when everything ELSE is loaded in.

"To avoid having to click through players" it's a nice feature but they should have made a tutorial ages ago pointing out you can hold X to disable the ability to click players, and therefor you just hold X and rightclick the NPC without any struggle. not saying the new feature is bad but they could have informed people before they added it that this was possible.
I was kinda hoping the new housing would be Solution 9-style. I'd love a neon house.
Also, I hope one of the new wing-mounts is Diabolos because then that will be my default mount, since I love my Diabolos wings.
Well, this is what they show for houses now but maybe later. Although I don't think since that will stand out and be quite jarring in my opinion.

Hearing you say that it was spoilery, Meoni, i'm really happy i didn't watch the launch trailer.
I'm really happy with the things they showed, mounts and minions as well as house styles.
If i can get enough gil within a reasonable amount of time to upgrade from medium to large i will absolutely get the walls with the terrace on the roof.
Though i'm really sad about the fact that i wouldn't get more item slots in housing any time soon.
Not feeling the trim stuff but we shall see once I get a better look.

I hope they add certain gear pieces for spectacles to that new feature from old gear options... for instance I really like the look of the Elegant Rimless Glasses, and I don't think I'll want to wear many other types of glasses besides those, so not having that be a part of the new way to wear spectacles will feel bad, especially with them seemingly trying to increase the amount of hats/helms Viera can wear... I feel like I'll still be left out from those options, because I will be forced to use to old method of glamouring my helm into glasses unless they update the old gear pieces to be part of it.
I don't know why people think yoshida is working on ff9 when he's clearly working on adapting content for the dqx offline English release
I love watching your PLL summaries but this one I had to skip around quite a bit because personally I prefer not to see too much before I go into the new expansion since I like to be surprised, and I feel like they show us too much sometimes! I haven't watched the launch trailer yet for the same reason. I'm excited, though! I tried my best to watch what parts I thought I could. Thank you for your hard work as always!

From other videos, I watched it was mentioned as a crafted gear/also common gear that you might be able to buy(?) cause there were mention of "Role Play" due to Role quests npcs wearing them. Another thing to note is that the weapons being shown are recolors from the Tower of Zot dungeon (which I really hope are dyeable).

The cybergear makes you look like a warframe.
The best thing they could do for housing is bring in an apartment or instanced system so that everybody can have access to housing even if its not the public viewable plot like normal housing. Not replace the current system just an additional system.
There already is an instanced apartment system without a demolition timer.
Theres a massive instanced apartment system people just want houses especially gor FCs

the porxy mount better be on the store at some point, the closest shop is 90 miles away which means they made a deal with company that has absolute shit for coverage.

That last Crafted Gear set is White mage=Healer Set and its not Black Mage or any of the DPS Casters Yoshi-P Specifically said in the Live Stream its WHM=Healer Set it could be for Healers and Casters but he made it very clear that its for Healers and not DPS Casters like BLM

one of my biggest issues with ffxiv is how much time has passed between the first and now current expansion and the twins have not aged.....at all. like come on, are we to assume that if years have not gone by, that all this stuff has happened in months?
They’ve explained that already. They age slowly as youths then hit a growth spurt in their 20’s. Maybe that seems a bit dubious, but their aging or lack thereof hasn’t been ignored.
@@clintmatthews3500 i know they age slowly. my point is how through so many expansions (excluding shadowbringers cus time was different), how they have not aged at all. I mean literally how much time has passed? surely it must be like at least minimum 2yrs
@@pastrana21 Much like with comic books, I think the writers themselves lose sight of the passage of time within their stories. You could have a storyline that takes a year to tell in real time but only spans a few hours in universe. You could have a single issue or questline that spans months. I think the real-world answer is that the twins are iconic, and the creatives and marketers are hesitant to change anything beyond their jobs and tweaking their outfits. Or it could be they're terrified of what the community will do with adult versions of them... although to me that's infinitely better than applying Rule 34 to the versions we have now...
