The new red-line thing is better for non-quote notifications. Of course, either way is an improvement to the Nael mechanics, lol. Nael made that fight extra hard to learn for sure.
maybe it's a hot take but nael doesn't need to be changed, the text is only hard to notice when you don't know what to look for. When you do it's just as easy as any other solution, what does it matter if it's red text on the screen or a chat bubble on the screen? You have to read the text anyway. I feel like people don't even bother trying and just dowload a plugin to do the mechanic for them while complaining about bad fight design
I'm worried that they never showed off or even mentioned the in-game raid diagram maker since the initial announcement. It's the QOL feature I'm maybe most excited about and I'm worried that it's been delayed or scrapped
would be nice, but then again, I don't mind using my 2nd monitor to make some diagrams. Honestly? I wish you could used the noted plugin in the vanilla game, where I can actually make notes and have them on screen without my 2nd monitor (there are ways within windows to already do that, but why isn't this a feature already, it's super handy to have the entire add phase timeline and golden bahamut mitigation plan visible in UCOB.
Still waiting to see more of that raid planner /drawing board thing that was talked about. Really hope it doesn't end up a doa feature like Duty Recorder and it is only available in outdated content.
As someone REALLY new to the game - I haven't started ShB yet - I deeply wish Poetics didn't cap, or at least had a substantially higher cap. Lemme hold a good number till I actually need them for the previous expansion armors for each role so they arent clogging up my armory early....
The new blacklist features are great, but the only downside is that they will only apply to characters added after the 7.0 update (unless this has been changed since the announcement) I really wish they would "grandfather" in your current blacklist into these new features so that you can be preemptive in making someone dissappear instead of dreading the day you stumble upon them again and manually removing and re-adding them just to take advantage of these new features
Oh wow, I missed the hp percentage changes. Potd behemoth is going to be a bit less annoying now. Also, I kinda hope that A1s mount isn’t mogstation again. I wish raid boss mounts were attainable in game somehow like the Twintania mount, though I suppose even that one required you to get someone else to buy the game.
I believe Yes to the starter pack and Dawntrail. Starter pack would just be a full version of the trial (ARR, Heavensward, Stormblood) and buying Dawntrail will give access to Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and of course Dawntrail.
I mean, I'm all for the recipes for quests to be labelled alongside the quest, since tabbing over to them took longer than actually making them sometimes. But were the emotes really that bad? On keyboard all you had to do was type the emote a single time, then if you needed to do it more than once you just pressed Enter then the Up Arrow to repeat it, assuming you haven't entered anything else in chat in-between. Even for controller, I'm not sure how much more convenient it is to place the emote ON the quest list, since that's probably just as fiddly to get to as just putting the emote on a cross hotbar somewhere, right? Honestly, if they aren't going to give us more reasons to use our Poetics, upping the cap doesn't really do much. At most you'd just hoard them to the new cap and buy whatever part of the relic you're working on that needs them outright and then just do it again, unless you convert them to gil on the reg (which would, again, not change your flow on that). Exchanging them for topsoil isn't something I'd thought about before, though; I might just start doing that to give them some use. Heavily looking forward to that raid series. Being a contestant in a no-holds-barred fighting tournament sounds like it'll be a blast, especially if it's gonna be a little goofy and lighthearted. We've had enough world-shattering events for a while; I think the Warrior of Light would like to step back and live a little. The new umbrellas do look *really* good - honestly the new lighting is just really good. I hope that the accessories system as a whole is made a little less jank overall. I know we're getting face accessories that'll stay on during battle and such (finally we can wear glasses AND hats at the same time!) but I wonder if they'll still take our minion slot?
I expect it's still in development, i just wouldn't be too surprised to either see some kind of delay, or the initial version to be kinda basic. It's odd we've heard literally nothing from it
I am not praising the devs for implementing player created mods that were overdue to bring QoL to the game. It's nice that non mod user can now also experience it but first, I question the scale and customisation of the official implementation and seconds, most people that used the mod before, will use it after, unless the official one is vastly superior, which is most cases is not what we get. Now if they preemptively reacted to player feedback and it didnt take 4 years for them to do anything, then I would have a different reaction.
It is much to ask for a pvpve zone? Or at least idk, make more rewarding, lets hope in the course of this exp cycle they give us some cool new pvp mode or at least some minigame like a futuristic dodgeball based on the new cyberpunk zone

There aren't any adds between boss 2 and 3 in criterion though, so it's functionally the same as starting in 2nd boss space. That's probably why it didn't get much attention.

I was told only way to get rid of that is 3rd party tool which I don't use. Also the dungeon wipe salty run. Thought it was timing so mana and other stuff replenish before you jump back into it.
Yea Poetics cap should be raised to 4k long time ago. It doesnt give much sense, since you can buy wep, body, pants and one of hat/gloves/boots at 2k cap. Then you have to farm another 2k or so, to get two remaining and accessories. Like why? When you reach lvl 60,70,80, it would be much easier if you could buy entire set at once, so you can continue without need to farm additional Poetics.

Poetics need to cap at 10k minimum. I’ve been complaining about it for years to my buddies since I buy the highest tomestone gear for every role in every previous expansion since I’m still leveling most of my jobs. 4,000 would be a good start, though.
tbh, the new tome limit should be 950 weekly and it's cap 4k by default. also give the new tomes actually some value past buying gear, since i'm sitting on 2k comedy for literally half a year now and with nothing to spend it on, got all my jobs already bis that I care for, can't buy more to sell for seals or desynth.
Yoshida commented on Poetics cap a while ago in 6.2 patch notes reading. He said that, with his usual reasoning, basically raising the cap would mean players would continue to ask for higher cap, so no. He also said that if the cap becomes higher, he's going to make the exchange requirements higher to adjust to the hoarders. He did agree that there needs to be more uses for Poetics. However, in the end he doesn't want Poetics to be nothing more than what it is now since it adds another grind.
A comment on the Poetics thing: This idea that you need Poetics gear for new classes is a very odd one. Don't forget, the first tier of vendor gear is always just 15 ilvls below the tomestone gear for that level. If you can't fill out your set with poetics alone, the vendor gear does just fine- the only real difference is that you can start getting upgrades from the x1 dungeon instead of waiting till the x5 (or x7 for a relic/savage weapon). That's why I don't think the poetics cap is really important to lift- the gear really isn't that important for levelling. It's a convenience, but the game is not balanced around levelling in the highest gear available.
Some of us want the absolute highest item level gear we can get to hit the ground running when new jobs coke around, so for that we need a healthy supply of Poetics. You know who settles for the starter gear they give you when you unlock a new job? Bums. Lazy-ass bums.

Just makes it easier to see. It's right in your field of vision instead of being off to the side in the corner. Plus some people remove their chat temporarily during fights

The Arcadion being a what it is is one of the most jarring and cringe things XIV has ever done, and its really not helping Dawntrail's image of casting off any degree of serious storytelling.

Technically it was added starting in Another Aloalo Island, but it was either not noticed or assumed to be a Criterion specific thing.

If it's shown in a live letter, it's obtainable in-game. Mogstation stuff is never announced ahead of time, it's just datamined.

i dont mind people advertizing nightclubs because thats how i discovered the nightlife scene in this game and it's been pretty great and i love seeing all the inventive and well decorated and staffed venues people have. i'm moreso annoyed by people selling gil or content sherpaing for real money

Poetics need to cap at 10k minimum. I’ve been complaining about it for years to my buddies since I buy the highest tomestone gear for every role in every previous expansion since I’m still leveling most of my jobs. 4,000 would be a good start, though.
tbh, the new tome limit should be 950 weekly and it's cap 4k by default.
also give the new tomes actually some value past buying gear, since i'm sitting on 2k comedy for literally half a year now and with nothing to spend it on, got all my jobs already bis that I care for, can't buy more to sell for seals or desynth.
Yoshida commented on Poetics cap a while ago in 6.2 patch notes reading.
He said that, with his usual reasoning, basically raising the cap would mean players would continue to ask for higher cap, so no.
He also said that if the cap becomes higher, he's going to make the exchange requirements higher to adjust to the hoarders.
He did agree that there needs to be more uses for Poetics.
However, in the end he doesn't want Poetics to be nothing more than what it is now since it adds another grind.

A comment on the Poetics thing:
This idea that you need Poetics gear for new classes is a very odd one. Don't forget, the first tier of vendor gear is always just 15 ilvls below the tomestone gear for that level. If you can't fill out your set with poetics alone, the vendor gear does just fine- the only real difference is that you can start getting upgrades from the x1 dungeon instead of waiting till the x5 (or x7 for a relic/savage weapon). That's why I don't think the poetics cap is really important to lift- the gear really isn't that important for levelling. It's a convenience, but the game is not balanced around levelling in the highest gear available.
You don't need them as such, it would just be nice to have. I'd like the higher cap for the convenience of it all
Some of us want the absolute highest item level gear we can get to hit the ground running when new jobs coke around, so for that we need a healthy supply of Poetics.
You know who settles for the starter gear they give you when you unlock a new job? Bums. Lazy-ass bums.

what's the difference if you have to read nael quotes from a red text popup on the screen or a chat bubble? You're reading anyways, it wouldn't make the plugin users any more likely to do the mechanic properly
Just makes it easier to see. It's right in your field of vision instead of being off to the side in the corner. Plus some people remove their chat temporarily during fights
@@heartfullbutterfly314 then don't look at the chat? The bubble is right on top of nael, you can reposition your camera so that it's anywhere. It's no different from literally any other mechanic that has a boss animation tell or a castbar tell

@kiiturii I mean they could. They give you the ability to make them bigger for a reason. Any quality of life change isn't necessary it just exists to help people if you don't like it ignore it. Or in the case of a cast bar change turn the setting off
The Arcadion being a what it is is one of the most jarring and cringe things XIV has ever done, and its really not helping Dawntrail's image of casting off any degree of serious storytelling.

But that doesnt change the fact that the story has made a distinct pivot away from the style of writing that made up HW, SB, and ShB, writing that was the main reason I played. Its jarring no matter how you look at it, even if you happen to enjoy the new form.
