I've been loving MCC, but it won't be complete until the customs browser kicks in. To me, someone who really "joined" the Halo community with Eldewrito, Custom games are what Halo is to me, moreso than matchmaking.
Hell yeah, especially since we'll probably be able to have a whole host of stupid fun with it on our Halo game nights.I just hope the mod support gets better as well, that way we don't have to do things like replace the files for Blood Gulch in order to play desert bus in Halo CE

@@mcrafter3000 i appreciate his work but for the most part i like bungies work, when stuff is underpowered and you persevere it feels so good (speaking from someone who likes legendary, except halo 2, fuck halo 2 legendary.)
Hey, me and my friend just got mcc to relive our nostalgia together. We noticed however that when playing classic halo 2, music was VERYYYYY quiet and it seems the only game in 10 years without the ability to mix my audio. I just want to hear music while playing in the old graphics haha rather than have to switch
I believe you can manually select remastered audio separately from remastered visuals (except in cutscenes). The remastered music tends to be a lot more bombastic and loud in general, from what I've noticed.
Not only that but the original tracks are poorly implemented at times, with things like Blow Me Away and the Scorpion Mix on Metropolis being looped very badly. And no, you cannot select classic/remastered audio and visuals separately, that is CE:A exclusive. Old visuals go with the old music, and the new visuals go with the new music, no mixing them up which is a very missed opportunity.
The update to Forge is easily the best part of this update in my opinion. Being able to spawn in a Seraph, and a Lich? My jaw fell through to my basement
Did you know there is a lich in Spartan ops? Maybe just me but I only thought it was in reclaimer and well now it’s in forge so I don’t need to replay that mission anymore 😁
and the mfcking mod support. imagine, just imagine a vanilla mod interface like the one gmod and lf2d have to download everything from the workshop. absolutely crazy, the experience would be vastly improved and expanded until the time the Halo community die eventually.
having barely played halo 4 and only hearing things about it, i surprisingly like it a lot tbh lots of gripes of course but im pleasantly surprised by this game
If 4 did not have Halo attached to it, it likely would be a great game. unfortunately, Halo carries a lot of baggage both good and bad and Halo 4 sticks out like a sore thumb in all of that. Personally, I hold to my original assessment: Good story, reasonable execution, poor gameplay. H4 is one of the reasons I still have hope for Infinite. H4 had good story but suffered in the gameplay department, H5 had no story but fantastic gameplay. now if 343 can combine the two...
I can't believe they actually released all the mcc games within a year, I really thought they'd delay most of the games but hey I'm glad they actually kept their word
Like I kept telling people when they began worrying about other titles after Halo Reach got delayed by months: Halo Reach was a 360 Game (built for the PowerPc Architecture), and 343 needed to port that to x86 architecture, integrated it to MCC, and port MCC to PC. That’s why the delays occurred. The rest of the games were already portes to x86 years ago for MCC (since xb1 is based on PC architecture). So MCC being complete in one year makes total sense. Reach was just an anomaly!
My apologies, but I feel like I need to say this to help myself cope a little. Although it’s great to see Halo 4 join the MCC on PC and complete the package, personally, it’s a little saddening for me. Why, you may ask? Well, it’s a bit of a long story, so please bear with me. Back in July, I was hanging out with one of my old friends I knew since primary school and haven’t seen in a good while and I asked him is he hyped to play Halo 3 on PC shortly after that port came out. Next, I asked him is he going to try any of the campaigns on Legendary and he said he’ll wait for Halo 4’s port to join the rest of the MCC on PC. After hanging out with him and glad to see he’s hyped to basically replay Halo on PC, I was overjoyed thinking that we could gather up more of our old friends we recently met up again with and play Halo together like the old days. But, sadly, in August, roughly over a month after hanging out with him that day, my friend unfortunately took his own life. What’s saddening to hear in our last conversation with him is he was hyped to play Halo 3 on PC and was waiting for Halo 4’s port to join PC before trying out Legendary. Now, with Halo 4’s port finally joining the MCC on PC, it’s great to see that it has positive feedback, but personally, it’s saddening that my friend won’t be able to experience Halo MCC on PC completely. I would try honour his memory by completing the entire MCC on Legendary to honour him, but I already survived the MCC on Legendary all by myself back on my Xbox One, with Combat Evolved, 2, 3 and 4 finished in 2014-2015, ODST and Spartan Ops Season 1 in 2016 and Reach back in February earlier this month on Steam. But, when Halo Infinite releases on Steam, I will do Legendary in Infinite instead to honour my friend’s memory. May our childhood memories be eternal and our passion for gaming be infinite. Sleep well, my old friend. Thank you for reading my comment there and apologies if it seems out of the blue. Although it’s great to see Halo 4’s port join PC, it’s a bit of a painful reminder. EDIT: never mind the edit, just to fix a few small grammar mistakes.
That’s terrible to hear, and I hope you can still be okay and still enjoy reliving some of those childhood memories in honor of him. LASO is waiting, and he’ll be glad to know you went through that insufferable pain out of friendship for him
@@TheRoseReaper thank you. Hopefully, Infinite will be quite unique on Legendary, something different, like 2 and Reach combined, but not as insane, but still interesting. That way, I can both enjoy the experience and honour my friend’s memory.
@@edibledognut8739 I dipped my toe into LASO, nearly lost my entire leg. Legendary is where I will have to draw the line, but if Infinite on Legendary is unique in comparison to the MCC, then it will be worth it. I feel better, but it still feels odd now and then.
My best description of Halo 4s sound design is its like an involuntary full assault on my ears. It works better in campaign as there’s less going on but in multiplayer there’s just to much going on
About the sound: I think they compressed the hell out the dynamic range. If you don't know what that means, audio naturally varies in loudness, and Halo 4's sound mixer made it so everything was at peak loudness at all times. The problem is, doing that results in clipping and other audio distortion, which would produce that harsh sound that is incredibly fatiguing to listen to. Think of it kind of like turning the volume of a small speaker way higher than it should go. The sad part is that the audio designer did good work, just to have it ruined. Listen to the ambience of the very beginning of the first level, before the action starts. It's at somewhat normal levels, and it sounds incredibly immersive and pleasing to the ear. Then you open the elevator and your ears get blown the fuck out by the rushing wind.
Yep, the audio seems to be incredibly compressed. I remember thinking the same from the initial release.. it's such a shame, the audio just sounds so terrible coming out of my speaker system (micca RB42s).
Crossplay did WONDERS for 8 Player FFA, which I personally prefer. Before the update, it would sometimes take 15-20 minutes just to find a match, and it was SUPER sweaty most of the time when I would finally find one. But now after the update, I find matches super fast now and I can actually enjoy playing again. And of course there's still the occasional sweaty lobby or two, but it's nothing like how it was before Crossplay was added.
My only issue with crossplay is, how are they dealing with console auto aim? How can you balance for that? Even if you’re a shithot shot on pc, it’s not quite “snap to head” console auto aim.
@@bjaarki That's what input-based matchmaking is for. If you want that on, the population increase from crossplay means that you can take the queue time hit from IBMM. 343 aren't going to try to mess with the aim assist model any time soon, they've said so before. And if you don't want it on, then just play Halo 3. I've found it to be by far the most viable and comfortable for my Mouse and Keyboard preference.
@@MintyLime703 Thanks for the responses dudes. Wasn’t like super mad about it or anything lol, was just a concern. Good clarification here though, I didn’t consider that as a pc player I’ve also got higher fov and 144hz frame rates which could be considered a big advantage. I do think crossplay in general is a great idea and means ofc more populated servers and therefore a more active playerbase, I was just wondering what the balancing was like and if pc players felt at a disadvantage as opposed to console.
@@MintyLime703 yeah kbm players seem to expect to destroy controller players every time so when they dont, they just blame it on the auto aim. Same thing is going on in cod
@@CallumSk8er yeah this. They might be right, but I suspect that there is a lot of bias, since KBM players expect to be better than console. From my experience it hasn't seemed to be one vastly outperforming the other, which indicates it's working.
I seem to have had a lot of issues with the other games with this update. H2A's assault rifle for me no longer has a reload sound, the carbine is now super quiet, and Reach Forge maps have flickering lighting. Halo 4 also lags out for a good 15 seconds the first time I spawn in every match I play on 4. I'm still really happy to have the complete collection out now, but along with stuff like the Reach content update and FOV sliders being delayed for Xbox One consoles, I can't help but feel they had to cut features and needed more time, this feels like a bit of a rushed release, quality assurance wise. On another note though, it seems like the seasonal Halo 4 skins are just skins that were previously missing from MCC. And I feel like a couple of these might have already been part of the collection pre-update and have now been locked off, but I could be wrong, since there's so many of them.
I've figured out what the 'new' art-style that Halo 4 started makes me think of; a small series of games called 'Section 8'. In fact, the didact and the villain of the second S8 game look pretty similar and are both ancient mutants; but the armor and aesthetic of forerunner/promethean tech, even some covie stuff, in H4-5 looks eerily like character design from S8. It's wild.
3:18 Such as the fire effects on Requiem clearly not being intended to be viewed up close as they're just 2D squares. 8:32 The issue I've always had with Halo 4's soundtrack is how it just cuts out if you pause it (which I usually do to turn up the audio to listen to my favourite tracks from H4 eg: Mantis and the Broadsword version of 117).
Halo 4 is a good game, but it has its problems. Gameplay was mostly copy-pasted from Reach, and carried over many of the same problems, like the samey-feeling weapon sandbox, limited tactics on higher difficulties and slower player movement for the sake of showing off sprint mechanics. The AI is somehow noticeably worse than the hyper-lethal AI from Reach. The game is still very gorgeous all these years later, and actually looks better than Halo 5. The story is also light-years better than Halo 5's confusing dumpster fire.
10:54 that's probably a cpu bottleneck, lots of draw calls on foliage in the anniversary edition means your cpu isn't keeping up. A 1080ti has no trouble rendering that but your cpu performance may be suffering.
i didn't have any of the performance problems you had and it was very smooth. although i have noticed the matchmaking puts me in really laggy lobbies and when i change the network settings it seems to just not find any game. i also noticed that the jump in player count for halo 4 wasn't as big as the other halo game (understandably) and it was really hard to get matches actually going without putting me in some 300ms server. the 60+ option seems to work a lot better now and i feel like from a few bugs, nothing was game breaking. one of the best port launches ever
The MCC on semi-low specs has been really good actually. It surprises me that my machine can run Halo 4 so smoothly when I was expecting it to not be able to do it (This is because H2AMP doesn't really run on my pc). Overal, I think 343 has done a magnificent job at doing this monumental feat and I'm really looking forward to the future of the collection! :D
Cross-play in coop campaigns would be now my most anticipated feature to add into the games. Playing those campaigns in coop is probably my favorite thing to do in halo anyways, so I hope one day I can connect with some friend or brother on xbox to play some classic halo levels.
one more thing and mcc will be perfect . FIX THE performance ISSUES IN H1A H2A H4 AND HALO REACH. I HAVE A SIMILAR PC BUILD AND MY FPS drops in some multiplayer maps to 50 edit: playing on a 1080p 144hz monitor and my gpu usage is bitwin 30 to 60 present and its not from my pc its from the game
For the experinces I've had. Which is good and bad. (im on pc, not a hgh end one, but a good decent one byw) For the bad, I've had pretty bad framerate drops, mainly on reach and H2A, models on reach like covenant corpses and marines are loading in properly, the remain as weird coloured blobs, that is until I walk a few feet infront of them, I've also had to restart missions because the save/quit button only did the 'quit' part. Most of these were pre Halo 4 update, but these started after th H4 update, Lots and Lots og audio glitches. Sniper shots heavily delayed. The worst part I've had with this glitch is firing at an elite 3 times and about 30 seconds later all 3 shots hit my ears like a train. I've also had sticky grenades not having their high pitched "eeeEEEEE" sound, which startled me when I exploded and died out of nowhere. It was quite annoying.
I am new to Halo and just started with the PC versions. Just wanted to say you have a great channel here, you are very fair in your assessments, have an open mind and yet also remain critical. Awesome stuff :)
I've noticed a campaign bug in Halo 4. Doors that lead to the next area spawn a few cm - 1 meter off to the left or right, off centre from the pattern on the floor, thus causing the next area to spawn slightly off-position by the same amount. I first noticed this in the mission "Reclaimer", and at first I thought it only affected the doors, but it turns out it affects all areas in all missions.
I'd love for them to have an option for Dedicated servers for online co-op campaigns because even if my friend is one province away from me, The input lag is suuuper slow to register
Biggest surprise for me with this update was Reach FINALLY getting its frame rate and interpolation fixed, as well as its weapon viewmodels being lowered back down to their default position when using centered crosshair. Being able to see the right half of the screen again is nice.
Honestly since MCC released on PC, playing through all the Halo games with my team Has gotten me through quarantine. We've played every game through on legendary and have even gotten some under 3 hour achievements. Specifically in Halo 3 and 3 ODST. I have my complaints about MCC like how it will just randomly disconnect from the internet. But for the most part its only personal nitpicks. I think I just happened to get MCC at the perfect time and have really been able to get the full experience and just have a shit ton of fun playing with my pals.
God, THANK you. It always bothered me so so so so much how shitty vehicle particle explosions were in Halo 4 compared to Halo 3 which came out litterally almost 6 years before.
It's one of the few technical gripes I have with the game. I loved H4's story, some of its OSTs were great, and the graphical fidelity was unparalleled for it's time. I wasn't a huge fan of the artsyle. But those damned explosions are/were dogshit, even for the times.
Problem is, the character models in Halo 3 look like potatoes. They were bad even for it's time, considering that Uncharted came out at the same time. Plus, it couldn't even run in HD on the 360.
I did flight testing for Halo 4. It worked great except the lighting bug in the infamous "no, sir" cutscene. It was jarring at first but funny because it look odd and I was seeing things I wasn't supposed to see clearly.
So as a flight tester for this update, I was happy on how this new update came in for the MCC. Sure, I have had a few issues with but mainly with updates on the flight test app on Xbox. I enjoyed Halo 4 back when it came out and me and my big brother had played it on the fat 360. We would play forge, campaign, customs, and whatever else it had to offer in its time. When testing when flighting the game, I noticed for Xbox One S had an option for FOV. I was excited about field-of-view being an option for the previous gen consoles and next gen. But when the update was released, the FOV sliders for prev-gen was disabled and was exclusive for the Xbox Series X & S. Some issues i've had with the update post flighting on the Xbox One S are some loading problems, audio overlapping dialogue as stated in the video, enemies glitching under the floor in campaign/Spartan Ops (mainly elites but after 5 seconds the game would kill them), and a few more but they weren't very noticeable. I think that this update was a better update for the Master Chief Collection than the CEA and H2A updates. Also I'd like to say that I have been subbed for 2 years now and is always ready to watch another of one of your video's. Hope this somewhat gives an insight on what season 4 on console is like post flight process. Happy Trails.
Me and my brother were playing the Halo 4 campaign because he'd never played the halo games before until recently. Everything was fine until part of the mammoth where you have to blow up a small covenant ship. Instead of it exploding, it slowly floated away. We thought it was normal because I forgot what was supposed to happen and my brother never played. But then we both realized something was wrong. We got on the mammoth to continue the level, but the rest of the map wasn't there. The mammoth just drove through the empty land and then the mammoth disappeared. We could still stand on it, but couldn't see it. Then our guns and ourselves disappeared, and we had to restart the game.
Great vid LNG! Never thought about the texture of the soundscape before but you are totally right! Really cool thing to mention and gives food for thought thank you!
You talking about Spartan Ops and what 343i could do in the future for MCC got me thinking. I have zero expectations that this would ever happen, but it'd be nice to see 343i do a H3:ODST version of Spartan Ops (ODST Ops if you will). The New Mombasa open world city is perfect for walling it off into all kinds of linear mission shapes and slapping some encounters in there in order to create new missions. That's basically what a lot of the missions in H3:ODST are like already and those missions still manage to be amazing to play and super replayable; so while the Spartan Ops concept failed in Halo 4, I think it would work so much better in H3:ODST without a whole lot of effort. It seems a more likely scenario though that we'd get modding tools first and then the community would maybe get interested in making levels like this, and I'd be fine with either outcome.
That Lich explosion was pretty funny - I remember in the first mission when the missile blows up the covenant ship - I burst out laughing the first time I ever saw that
I know our community is small, but I would really like AMD Crossfire/ Nvidia SLI support. I understand that the team is small and they would have to code even more for all the pc configurations.
MCC is an amazingly convenient package for all my nostalgia needs. Challenges and skins make multiplayer and campaign a little more interesting, and the smoother framerates make all the games more immersive. One major negative for me is the immense file sizes for the games and updates, but nothing beats being able to play on my laptop, which is smaller than the original XB1.
It has been nearly a year but I have recently got the MCC for PC and it is awesome. Being a PS fan, I only got to play Halo 3 and beyond when I went to my Cousin’s house but now I got the breaks the whole trilogy in my hands. And performance is great, never had the FPS dropped below 60, even on Halo 4 maxed out with AA off. And I don’t have a powerful rig at the moment, I have an R3-2200G, RX-460 2gb, and 16gb of RAM. Granted, performance shouldn’t be less than this in 2021 since these games(with the exception of H2A), was designed for OG Xbox or 360 era hardware, but even Halo 2 anniversary runs well.
Dude the introduction of crossplay is really what I’ve been waiting for. Since crossplay hit I’ve gotten to play with all of my friends who’ve been playing mcc on pc and it’s been great and a real fun time
The one thing I don’t like about halo 4 are the sounds, tbh. Some guns straight up don’t even sound like guns. Looking at you, Battle rifle, DMR and Storm Rifle.
I'm new to Halo, and the MCC has been a blast! the campaigns are fun, and I'm hoping to get some friends together to riff on the writing of the Spartan Ops
i am happy that the mcc is now complete on pc, though I wished they somehow introduced the matchmaking for spartan ops as well like it was during h4 360 days.
I've never even played past Halo 2, but this is a good review. I'll play 4 eventually (currently re-playing the series from the beginning), but I hope there is something that they can and will do about the overwhelming, overly compressed range of the sound design. Far Cry 3 has the same problem where every sound effect is so damned loud that I find myself loathing vehicle travel. It's like listening to modern over-mixed music only it's made of mechanical scrapes and explosions.
I'm bummed out it doesn't let me pick specific gamemodes. I dislike a vast majority of Halo 4's multiplayer offerings, but I do *love* dominion and would love to play that specific mode.
They fixed the framerate interpolation in Halo Reach and also adjusted the viewmodels for the *objectively better* centered viewmodels. I'm happy to see that.
From console player’s perspective, I’ve really enjoyed how much snappier matchmaking searches are. No bugs from a single player perspective. However, I do run into a couple massive bugs when trying to host parties with PC users (using AMD hardware. Not sure if that makes a difference). The first major one being that users are kicked from games during matchmaking searches, making it unplayable for cross-play parties. The other bug took place in firefight. This bug will cause non-host players to not see any of the ai on the map. This game mode is still slightly playable, but quite frustrating. Overall, I love that 343 is bringing together the PC and console space with this new update! I’m going to be reporting my issues to hopefully help them make the experience smoother in the future.
Man Im playing halo 4 campaing for the first time since the release year, after reading the forerunner books its such an amazing game bruuuuh.... Not mentioning the requiem aweso ambient and graphics
No, the quiet one was H3 clearly the assault or battle rifles as well as ambiance compared to CE/2 to begin with- and in general all the guns sounded as toys. 5 for some tried to do it again but with infinite only the like 2 remaining plasma ones (and not like anyone would pick it up anyway)
From what I’ve played so far, the game runs fantastic. I always really enjoyed Halo 4’s MP and it’s great to play it again on PC. Also having crossplay added in is a huge win. Definitely notice much shorter wait times for getting into a match. It should also help with getting matches for what seem to be the less popular multiplayers like CE and 2 Anniversary. Overall I’ve had no major issues with any of these ports as they’ve been releasing over this past year. Now we just need a little more TLC for the MCC like campaign crossplay, touching up the original graphics for CE to be on par with the OG Xbox release instead of the terrible Gearbox port, and a custom games browser. After that, let’s get to work on Halo 5 PC!
I played through it on Legendary the first day - straight through - and, I thought it turned out pretty darned amazing. There were some quirks here and there; but, compared to my experience on the Xbox One when I played it a few years ago, I enjoyed myself considerably more. I honestly find there to be good and bad things about each game, that I sort of wish we could mix more consistently across all of them; but, it's Halo - who can complain? As for specs, I am also running on a 1080 Ti, with 32GB of system memory; but, I'm running it in 5K at highest settings, scaled down to WFHD. It looks amazing, and, I only occasionally had framerate issues. It's the first game I've come across (besides the terrible recent releases of DayZ) that nearly maxes out my 4790K.
Been liking MCC on pc. I got it at launch cuz i had only played halo at my friends house splitscreen on xbox. as a mostly pc gamer it has been great. the only things i want now are viewmodel adjustment and some of the bugs to be fixed. if they do both of those things its actually perfect for me.
I've just been going through spartan ops to get that solo legendary achievement I never bothered to do when playing on console, and i've been quite enjoying it. My only complaint is that it really feels like there's an always active catch skull on. I've had to even double check to make sure I didn't turn it on, because elites were chucking plasmas at me like we were playing dodgeball.
when i did my legendary play through i would just start laughing when i saw like 7 grenade indicators show up at once as soon as i hid behind something
I3-8100, GTX1050ti, 8gb RAM and MCC runs at a consistent 60fps at max settings. H2A campaign gets a little choppy at times but MP still plays pretty flawlessly.
I would love to hear your opinion about unlocking new weapon skins by hitting certain competitive ranks. I'm not completely against having awards for playing competitive games, I am mostly upset and a little disappointed about their limited time to unlock them. MCC has been a place (besides some certain nameplates) where everything from the base games are unlocked or you have unlimited time to unlock achievements, most nameplates, and the new seasonal items. I'm admittedly not the best multiplayer out there and I don't have the time to grind and 'get good' that reaching level 20 requires. I would have been far more accepting of competitive rank goals if I had unlimited time to reach these goals just like achievements give to complete. I've now started beating the LASO playlists, and I very happy I had until now to do them at my leisure. The idea that the Avalanche skin will locked away forever becuase I could not reach rank 20 in the allotted time really saddens the completionist side of me. I thankfully completed Endure in time, but I believe the Acrophobia skull is still able to be unlocked if you have not done so yet.
I play on a Toshiba laptop, Satellite C-55, 2.4 Ghz i7 5500, 12 Gb DDR3, Geforce 930m, and it has been really good. For some reason, I can play H4 on original settings and 1280x720 at steady 60 fps while reach stutters on those settings. All in all, I'm just happy I'm able to relieve these games.
I'm disappointed that you failed to mention Halo 3's broken specular lighting after this update, it was all over Reddit. Apparently, the skins are messing with H3's lighting and if that's the case I'd rather have them off.
Calling it now for no reason other than I just have a gut feeling. They’re gonna surprise the fuck out of us with a Halo 5 full release on PC. (Not just Forge which is already on the Windows Store, but the campaign, multiplayer, forge, and war zone, maybe even with cross play.)
I didn't realise there was any background music till mission 5...the default audio mix has the effects literally drown out the soundtrack until effects are at %15...
I think one issue with performance issues is it being CPU bound and not necessarily GPU bound. CE Anniversary is a good example. Something I just never had a consistent framerate on with my i5-6600k. Recently switched to a 9700k that I got off a deal from work. I play all of the games at a locked 144 now which is pretty nice.
might be interesting to see some sort of option for an enhanced render pipeline for some of these games, so you can enable effects like raytracing across all Halo games - because while Reshade can do it, it can't do as good of a job as proper in-engine raytracing can since Reshade is limited to screen-space. Seems like it could be worth doing now considering the MCC will likely be on Xbox Series X if it isn't already
@nfsdude0125 Nah Halo 5 actually toned a lot of the icepick-y treble frequencies down compared to Halo 4. Just compare the H4 Battle Rifle to the H5 one. Or the two Magnums.
I'm pretty satisfied with the port as well as the collection as a whole on my end, it could always benefit from continuous updates and patches/hotfixes. Is it just me or did anyone else notice the similarity of the Halo 4 shield recharge sound and the minigun spin-up noise from Team Fortress 2?
I’ve been playing MCC since it came out on 11/11/2014 and while it’s my favorite game on the Xbox One, I eventually got bored of it. The new updates have gotten me hooked on the game again. I’ve gotten 663 total achievements, and I’m finished with every season expect season 4, which I’m halfway through. I have been very impressed with how 343 revived this game! This gives me hope that Infinite will generally be a pretty good Halo game.
I play on Xbox One Original and ever since the ODST update I’ve been getting crashes pretty consistently. It wasn’t an issue I had at all until that update and in fact I’ve been playing the MCC less with more crashes. So i wouldn’t mind a bug dedicated update, just so the experience isn’t as janky.
I am old and a filthy casual but I am just so glad that I can play these on PC now. I have not owned a console since I sold my elite 360 in 2009. Reach was the last game I had played and it was the first on PC. Completed Reach on heroic and started on legendary.
Wanted to comment to note that last time I played Halo 4 MCC on PC, the Assault Rifle sound is still a bit bugged if you feather the shots. It does well if you go fully automatic, but it gets weird if you spam click away.
It would be perfect. If they didn't take Complex out of the map rotation. That was legitimately my favorite map in any halo multiplayer. And it's gone. Fucking pissed.
@@anomalyinc3239 never said it did, but a lot of those sounds become synonymous with their respective weapons to the point that people would hear those sounds elsewhere and go "hey that's the shotgun from halo!"

Yeah. It especially sucks when I try to listen to the original Follow and it sounds like almost no music is playing.
@@jackganger-spivak5160 no, only in CE is that possible. The settings are mashed for halo 2 in MCC wierdly
You can turn up the music and turn down other sounds that’s what I do

having barely played halo 4 and only hearing things about it, i surprisingly like it a lot tbh
lots of gripes of course but im pleasantly surprised by this game
Same. Honestly it has its flaws but I feel people overlook its many great qualities.
Halo 4 is pretty damn fun and a solid game. However it suffers because it's just not quite Halo. Still do like it though.
I stopped playing Halo with Bungie, so now I can play H4 for the first time
@@trinalgalaxy5943 H4 doesn't even play that much different than Reach.
I can't believe they actually released all the mcc games within a year, I really thought they'd delay most of the games but hey I'm glad they actually kept their word
Yeah, and sorted out the bigger bugs. That's an even bigger surprise
Like I kept telling people when they began worrying about other titles after Halo Reach got delayed by months:
Halo Reach was a 360 Game (built for the PowerPc Architecture), and 343 needed to port that to x86 architecture, integrated it to MCC, and port MCC to PC.
I'm sorry for your loss man, hears to hoping you do complete it in his honor.
That’s terrible to hear, and I hope you can still be okay and still enjoy reliving some of those childhood memories in honor of him. LASO is waiting, and he’ll be glad to know you went through that insufferable pain out of friendship for him
He’s not dead, he’s Missing In Action
I'd rather Bungie's art design, but H4 holds up pretty damn well
Crossplay did WONDERS for 8 Player FFA, which I personally prefer.
6:53 "Impressive skyboxes" proceeds to show a clip of something so visually busy i cant comprehend what im looking at
I seem to have had a lot of issues with the other games with this update.
3 step forwards. 43 steps backwards.
Halo 2 classic still being shafted by lack of content, it's the only game to not get something new
Hoping that Dominion returns in multiplayer, and Reach weapon skins
Just queue up btb koth rotations, it has dominion it man
i love the extremely powerful sound of the gaus hog in halo 4 and 5. i think its the best one yet
Master Chief: A fine addition to my collection
I think halo 4 is a good game and I’m tired of pretending that it’s not
Thank you
yeah its really good, I have a lot of fun on it.The others are better imo but 4 is still great

The story is also light-years better than Halo 5's confusing dumpster fire.
tank beats EVERYTHING!
thanks for including one of my favorite lines in halo.
Just scrolled past your comment when it was said lol
10:54 that's probably a cpu bottleneck, lots of draw calls on foliage in the anniversary edition means your cpu isn't keeping up. A 1080ti has no trouble rendering that but your cpu performance may be suffering.
I should try this out on my 3600x then.
Biggest audio issue i noticed is that regardless of how far away it is a charged plasma pistol sounds like its right next to you.
i didn't have any of the performance problems you had and it was very smooth. although i have noticed the matchmaking puts me in really laggy lobbies and when i change the network settings it seems to just not find any game. i also noticed that the jump in player count for halo 4 wasn't as big as the other halo game (understandably) and it was really hard to get matches actually going without putting me in some 300ms server. the 60+ option seems to work a lot better now and i feel like from a few bugs, nothing was game breaking. one of the best port launches ever
7:00 walking down the hallways to the librarian while similar music to this bit played was actually really beautiful.

Well the only issue is the co op is classically high on latency
It was quite annoying.
the game is still buggy tho I had to redo a mission cause the save/quit didn't work on my legendary playthrough
I am new to Halo and just started with the PC versions. Just wanted to say you have a great channel here, you are very fair in your assessments, have an open mind and yet also remain critical. Awesome stuff :)
I'm not gonna lie, my only issue is memory usage, but it's no bigie. besides that I think MCC just redeemed itself!!
Theres supposedly a program on the mod nexus that fixes that problem 343i has neglected to fix this whole time.

Halo 3 is the best looking and sounding Halo game. The lighting and art design is incredible
Problem is, the character models in Halo 3 look like potatoes. They were bad even for it's time, considering that Uncharted came out at the same time. Plus, it couldn't even run in HD on the 360.
@@aolson1111 The Elites were especially bad. They had so much detail to cram into the same size and aninations of their Halo 2 counterparts
That sounds like a creepypasta.

Halo 4 on pc is great!!
Too bad it doesn't work for me :(
That Lich explosion was pretty funny - I remember in the first mission when the missile blows up the covenant ship - I burst out laughing the first time I ever saw that
I know our community is small, but I would really like AMD Crossfire/ Nvidia SLI support.
I always watch yours and generalkidds videos about these drops
Reach MCC got me hyped, then they started doing the crazy shit in July, now we have pelicans and broadswords in H4 forge. I'm excited.
I'd bet in order to make the game look so good on a 360, while also having a decent frame rate, they completely kneecapped the entire audio engine.
Steam Workshop support is the highest thing on my wish-list. I really want to have an easy way to install all the rebalanced Halo campaigns!
I'm new to Halo, and the MCC has been a blast! the campaigns are fun, and I'm hoping to get some friends together to riff on the writing of the Spartan Ops
If crossplay is coming to campaign too, co-op LASO runs of halo 2 are gonna be so much more doable
i am happy that the mcc is now complete on pc, though I wished they somehow introduced the matchmaking for spartan ops as well like it was during h4 360 days.

6:21 halo CE’s full clip sniper rifle reload sound is a stock reload sound effect from what I remember
I really wish Halo 4 had less lighting effects, friggen hurts my eyes after playing any longer than 30 minutes
I'm bummed out it doesn't let me pick specific gamemodes. I dislike a vast majority of Halo 4's multiplayer offerings, but I do *love* dominion and would love to play that specific mode.
I still wish there are exp rewards for doing missions. Really makes it annoying to know i’ve play at least 1000 missions and got nothing for it
They fixed the framerate interpolation in Halo Reach and also adjusted the viewmodels for the *objectively better* centered viewmodels. I'm happy to see that.
Boooooo offset crosshairs for lifeeee
I love my offset crosshair. Feels better than the centered ones.

I like these type of videos, it’s keeping everyone informed of the success of the newest updates!
The intro always give me enjoy
nice CPU! refreshing to see devils canyon performing fairly well for its age :)
At least we have the option to turn them off. Is that bug the reason they all look so dark?
Calling it now for no reason other than I just have a gut feeling. They’re gonna surprise the fuck out of us with a Halo 5 full release on PC. (Not just Forge which is already on the Windows Store, but the campaign, multiplayer, forge, and war zone, maybe even with cross play.)
I didn't realise there was any background music till mission 5...the default audio mix has the effects literally drown out the soundtrack until effects are at %15...
I have loved all of the updates for MCC. I just wish I knew more people to play with
I think one issue with performance issues is it being CPU bound and not necessarily GPU bound. CE Anniversary is a good example. Something I just never had a consistent framerate on with my i5-6600k. Recently switched to a 9700k that I got off a deal from work. I play all of the games at a locked 144 now which is pretty nice.
I wish they had done a customization armor system in halo 4 like they did for reach. Makes it feel like your customizations are way more fun
might be interesting to see some sort of option for an enhanced render pipeline for some of these games, so you can enable effects like raytracing across all Halo games - because while Reshade can do it, it can't do as good of a job as proper in-engine raytracing can since Reshade is limited to screen-space. Seems like it could be worth doing now considering the MCC will likely be on Xbox Series X if it isn't already
Yo halo 4s audio design is actually headache inducing its stupid. Everything just sounds too much
I hear Halo 5 is even worse.
Honestly, one feature I was hoping for this update hasn't come but I don't mind waiting a bit longer for it (FOV Slider for Xbox One Consoles)
I really want Halo 5 on PC, the only Halo game I have never played.. :c
Hopefully it'll release separate on steam
In terms of halo 4's weapon sounds I feel was a case of fixing what isn't broken
The bungie sounds were like toy guns
@@anomalyinc3239 they were iconic. Also while i agree in some cases i very much disagree in others. (I.e. most of the human weapons from halo CE)
@@iainkilcar7463 bungie by default doesn't equal iconic
Age by default doesn't translate to iconic
@@anomalyinc3239 never said it did, but a lot of those sounds become synonymous with their respective weapons to the point that people would hear those sounds elsewhere and go "hey that's the shotgun from halo!"
MCC PC has been one of the best gaming experiences this year. I got to relive my childhood, and it only crashed once when playing g halo 1.
My fps is capped 133fps, no matter the settings. First few versions worked fine with 200-300 fps but now I can't hit even 144 that I would like. No v-sync or g-sync enabled and I have GTX 1060 6gb.
Nice Hardware! Used to rock that CPU till last year around the time this was posted. Got it in 2014 and has been holding up
