I will always be fascinated by comedians like Jim Carey and Robin Williams. The way their mind works... Beyond words. I miss Robin terribly and I hope we have Jim forever lol
He kind of mastered comedy, didn't he? Stand-up, impressions, skits, comedy lead, indie tragi-comedies and up and onward. He kept on reinventing, as an artist, in an industry that kind of doesn't want them.

The thing with the new yorker festival is that the interviewers aren't exactly interviewers, they're NY employees who sorta dabble in the same area of the celebrity. In this case, as Jim Carrey is doing cartoons lately, they chose a cartoonist. Still, i was there and have to say the whole hour and a half was like that, which made Jim have to carry the interview completely.

Very true. They could have hired a seasoned, well versed host that can actually attempt to keep up with Jim Carrey. Not some star struck Millennial that this is his grad school final presentation.
He was just nervous. And, that's okay. We shouldn't grade people we see on screen. It makes us much more robotic than those we accuse of being one.

The James Dean impression clip is case in point why they wanted him to play Kaufman. And he did as well as anybody could do trying to play Kaufman, if you've not seen it Man on the Moon is great. Anyway, the way he turns around, flips his collar up and starts combing his hair with his fingers, then he relaxes his hips in this almost Elvis pose. It's note for note the same sort of thing Kaufman was doing on Carson a while before Jim Carrey did.
