You and SketchRC have both done brushless swaps on these today! Definitely seems like the Gorgon has a strength: not breaking on power related issues. Awesome to see. Keep it up
For a 2wd this truck is very impressive, I love how they've essentially made a motor on axel rail chassis for it, it's a strange design but it results in a great bite and allows for some wheelies too, it's clear they tuned this for fun, which is what it should be, an entry level vehicle is supposed to put a smile on your face for cheap and get you into the hobby. This is an ideal truck for beginners and is an education into vehicle balance for the older crowd, for a budget rc this is pretty impressive all things considered!
One of the best things about this hobby is you don't have to spend crazy money for a lot of enjoyment. One of my favourite rc's is a 2s brushless mad van . My little boy has the brushed one and we've put som many packs through them now .
The one guy at my local hobby shop was talking it up when it came in and I was messing with him saying it's junk and no good, but wow it's getting great reviews everywhere......for a first R/C the RTR and especially the kit would be awesome for 1st timers...I was wrong that is a solid R/C 💯
So nice of Arrma to go back to the drawing board and simplify an Rc car, but still make it durable and fun, that someone can actually afford in todays depression… I’m definitely getting one of these and doing the brushless conversion… Only thing this beast was missing… 👍🤘👏
SketchRC did a 2s, 3s, and 4s speed run video where he upgraded the ESC and added a brushless motor. It was awesome on 2s just like yours. But It was almost undrivable on 3s and it was undrivable on 4s as every time he even feathered the gas the front end popped completely off the ground, even once he got it up to a decent speed. I get that it’s fun to upgrade these factory cars so they go super fast and are super bashable. But, this thing wasn’t meant to have those extreme types of speed upgrades. Wheres the fun if you make it so fast you can’t control or even drive it? 😂 Don’t get me wrong you guys videos are great and it is really cool to see stuff like this. But going higher than 2s makes this car a cartwheeling nightmare. 😂
My brushless 3s granite voltage was the same way till I put a set of aluminum upgrades all over it and a hard basher body I just found out proline don't make anymore. It awsome on 3s now. And haven't had a problem with the aluminum parts bending since the truck's just not that heavy even with the aluminum parts.
@@mikellewis2346 The granite is 4wd though, yes? I honestly think that really helps with drivability on 3s. The Gorgon, which I’m waiting on my RTA kit to arrive in the mail 🤩 Is only 2wd which may be why it’s just so uncontrollable on 3s or 4s. At any rate, I love these guys videos and what they do to these cars to keep us regular hobby guys entertained. Arrma builds really good $hit! 😂😂
@@OGRCFanatic the GRANITE VOLTAGE I speak of is 2wd, and very similar to the new arrm truck. If you look back at the older arrma rcs from the past, there have always bin a 2wd lower cost truck's. Some being more expensive with brushless systems. I've bin a big arrm fan for over 5 or 6 yas now. And there are alot of truck's most people nevr hard of that arrma had made prior to the law suit that end up given them more popularity an in the end maken the company one of the largest an best in the world. Your gonna love your new arrma. Me and my 2 boys drive any chance we get with all kinda arrma rcs. And there hands down the best out rite now. This new truck's got all the rite stuff for a tuff a cheap truck.
Cheap, fun and easy maintenance with 2wd, I love it and I am getting one. 2s brushless looks like a sweet spot, fast enough and added torque. I think the tyres is great on this truck, having no foam and plush must really add to great traction.
Btw, this 14t stock brushed motor is roughly the same to 2900-3200kv brushless motor. Just in case you ok with stock speed and you just need more run time on brushless setup - here you go😊👍
No way and can run 3s on 3200kv I see because those are bl motors I have , I probably put a bigger pinion most motors are arrma with larger shafts don't think make 48p for those though
@@paulclancy2404 my thought was simple as it can be 🙂 if somebody ok with stock speed, but wants more run time on brushless with 2s, he can just put in 2900-3200kv brushless combo with stock gearing. It gives 20-30% more run time compare to brushed 2s lipo set up👍 💪
Honestly, this is a cool truck, even if it is cheaper. I love my traxxas skully. Which is just a 2wd stampede. It is a lot of fun on 2s. My skully has perfect jump and air control. Can't wait to get this truck and try it out.
arrma put those slots in the battery door to give the magic smoke a place to come out. all you need is a zip tie or Velcro strap around the chassis, keep it simple.🤔 👍👏
I had no interest in this truck until I saw how tough and how it handles on brushless . Just bought one , it take me back to being 13 and having my Blackfoot .
Hey man, nice video as always. I was wondering if you could detail the exact Spektrum ESC and Motor combo you've gone with for the Gorgon? I have a bunch of HW max 10 combos that have terrible cogging at the lowend no matter what and would love to snag this system. Looks punchy even from a dead stop. Thanks in advance 👌🏽
dang it Joe you twisted my arm once again, so my gorgon is on its way and I can't wait, sure would like to see you try a wheelie bar on this truck. Oh and I've already started looking at brushless systems for my build did I mention I can't wait haha
Damn that thing looks SOOO much better with them upgrades! Def pulling the trigger on this one... waiting on the Green which seems to be the most popular!
That’s exactly what it needed. As soon as I saw everyone’s out of box runs I thought it was to slow. It needed the brushless juice to it. Awesome video Joe!!! 👍🏻
Wow, that thing is really kicking it! I'm currently modding my Gorgon too. 😜 Which controller did you install? 85A, or 100A??? That's the Spektrum SPMXSM2900 motor. Here in Germany, I can't find any information about the motor, neither its max current nor max voltage.
Maybe a set of sway bars to reduce traction rolling? If they fit. I have a Slash 4x4 I installed sway bars on and they greatly reduced traction rolling!!
Love your vids! What parts did you use to make it brushless? Im thinking of buying a gorgon and make it brushless but ive never changed a motor before. Would really like to learn :)
me I liked the video, I wanted to ask what sprocket did you use, how can I look for it? I know it's m0.8, but 32p, 42p? I'm confused. I hope your help, thank you very much
While this looks like a fun truck, I can't get past the trap door battery setup, i refused to buy the 1st gen Arrma's because of the trap door system. always seemed very toy like. If there was a chassis option for when you stepped up maybe
Hooo, please Can you tell me the référence of your brushless combo ? And also if you have change de ratio Gear ? Or you have used thé origine one ? Thanks a lot ! Have a nice day :)

I feel the lack of foams allows the tires to absorb a lot of impact the truck would normally have to take

Now this thing is AWESOME!! getting one yessir great build bro!!
I love the way the suspension moves. Even going brushless, it's still a sub $250 truck. And I love the body

Gonna get one for my 6 year old son for his first hobby grade truck. He loves watching my lmt and x maxx fly. He’s gonna be pumped Christmas morning
Gotta give you props on that wall ride!!!! That was kick ass!!!! Joe’s the man!!
I had no interest in this truck until I saw how tough and how it handles on brushless . Just bought one , it take me back to being 13 and having my Blackfoot .
Would my 3s motor and esc out of my infraction be a fairly simple swap? With winter I’m want to upgrade and not sure what to do with the extra parts

You took a entry level rc and made it a super fun basher awesome job joe👍👍
Backflips for days that thing is an animal

That wall ride was as good as it gets 💯
What a wild machine, great to see it take the power with ease 👍
Looks super easy to work on. OMG that was so wikid rad that wall ride! That trucks awesome Ripper!❤
That's pretty dang cool, especially for 2wd 👍🏻✌🏻
Man, that thing jumps nice... sweet entry level truck. Seems like that would be a fun racing class
This sucker is worth it! 22mm gears and it’s beefy build is working out great. Heck you haven’t voiced a single complaint about the servo too.
Damn that thing looks SOOO much better with them upgrades! Def pulling the trigger on this one... waiting on the Green which seems to be the most popular!
I kept waiting on the iconic ET scene where this RC floats up in the sky slowly in front of the moon… haha😂 That thing was about to go into orbit!!
What a cool truck. Does my kid NEED this for the holidays? 😈
nice backflip off the big ramp and running the wall. that was cool to watch.
It’s impressive brushless 👍 If you can find the version without a battery and add a cheap brushless combo it would be under $300
Quick run 10 BL G2 combo would be right at $200 assuming you have batteries already.
I bet that it would hang with the bandits in a race. 👍👍😁😎✌️
That's what I'm talking about! That was awesome! 😎👍🔥
Those slow motion air clips were so cinematic!
Man that really woke that little joker up!!!!
Wow absolute Beast mode. Really nice setup running sweet. Sticking the landing hahahaha
That’s exactly what it needed. As soon as I saw everyone’s out of box runs I thought it was to slow. It needed the brushless juice to it. Awesome video Joe!!! 👍🏻
I need links to the items purchased for upgrade, im hella new to the basher schene 😆
I would just use a long zip tie and wrap it around the chassis and over the battery cover
We stuck in a vendetta 3900 kv motor and esc with a 16t pinion on our gorgon It's rips on 2s. No need for 3s. Plus the motor stays cool.
Do you have a fan on the Motor?
@PeterAlbury-b4l yes it has a place for a fan on top.
@MudMonsterRacing4 I mean did you put a fan in yours?
Thank you man
For the battery door, I'll be using 3m velcro ties. Just 2 should do. Did the same to my big rock. No more battery ejections..
Almost needs a little 3d printed pin for the battery tray.
Yeah I think so.
@@ExocagedRC may not be a real problem today but later down the road it could be

Awesome slo mo’s!
By watching your videos, now I know that this car is really good and very strong 😅
What do you think the chances are they will come out with a BLX version of the Gorgon?
Good stuff man!! I’m gonna speed test mine today!
That's awesome man I've been looking forward to this video 👍😎 FYI the 3s blx wheelie bar bolts right up👍
Another Awesome video my man💪💯
Sounds a little bit cheesy the way you say it means a lot that your listening to this right now 😂
Needs a wheelie bar now with that brushless...
Needs a little weight in the front and adjust the front shocks to compensate 🤙🏻
Dude this video made me need one of these now! 😂
The wall ride wtf so cool
Did you do anything with the shocks yet?? I thickened up the rear fluid
Nice 😍 run
Love i going to do mine brushless to 😂 fun
I wonder how many of these you just help sell with this video! Cause brushless makes everything more fun!
Put a battery strap on, Vegas Paul here 😅.
Holy hell that’s a huge difference
Nice place to drive man :)
I keep coming to the same conclusion on this. I gladly pay another 50-75 more for a 4x4 variant.
on the gt5 radio is the a what to change the throttle sensitavity? any help thanks.
I swapped. Mine to a 3700 KV and it’s nuts!! I’m gonna up the pinion to 15 and see what happens lol!!
Now I definitely want one
Maybe a set of sway bars to reduce traction rolling? If they fit. I have a Slash 4x4 I installed sway bars on and they greatly reduced traction rolling!!
👍🏻👍🏻
One could put a belt of velcro around the chassis and battery door, anchored to the top of the chassis.
Love your vids! What parts did you use to make it brushless? Im thinking of buying a gorgon and make it brushless but ive never changed a motor before. Would really like to learn :)
Brushless motor, brushless speed controller (esc) and new radio transmitter and receiver. Not all motors fit due to clearance for the wires
Nice video, do you think a generic 3650 3800kv 50 dollar combo would be okay in it, thanks, awesome truck
Yes but I did fry cheapo 3s esc once it was 17$ too cheap . You can get hobbywing combo for 80 so I'd imagine can get rebranded for 50 60
We've got enough zola now.
Great video can you please share a link to the pinion? Thanks
on gt5 like where the throttal isnt as sensetave can you turn that down and up? thnks.
Ecx ruckus looked like that a little bit. And was there beginners truck.
I can't see it happening right now arrma gorgon racing series coming soon 😅
👍🏾👍🏾
Arrma makes a receiver box for it now for $12
Can't make up my mind between the vorteks or this one but you got me thinking now lol
Wow it's so fun
It looks like the lower board on your fence is loose or broken causing you to deflect and crash
That is beautiful
Wheelie bar now
me I liked the video, I wanted to ask what sprocket did you use, how can I look for it? I know it's m0.8, but 32p, 42p? I'm confused. I hope your help, thank you very much
Uhh Joe it handles and jumps so good is because of the longer wheel base
this has to be the best r/c on the market!!

Cheers ☕
Use 2 drone velcro straps to hold battery door in place...problem solved
Velcro strap around the whole chassis
I mean for a monster truck basher it alright but needs to be 4wd for what it is
Nice fuckin rig, idk about u but I would take spectrum systems over Traxxas systems.
Blx will have a wheelie bar
