Found this video just last night, many years later. I have the same problem with my P325, and it was new when I purchased it, not reconditioned like yours. As an experiment, I set the air pressure regulator lever all the way to the left (minus), and the micro depth adjustment all the way counter-clockwise so the nail sets at minimum depth. I used a strip of 1" nails, and it barely drove the nails into the pine 2 x 4 - about 1/2" of the nails were protruding above the wood. I did the opposite, and set the lever all the way to the right (plus), and the micro adjust all the way in for maximum nail depth. At these settings, it drove the nails very well, and set them a reasonable depth below the surface. However, when I set the lever half way between + and -, and the micro depth half way, I got the same inconsistent results. Some nails drove fine, while others stuck above the wood quite a bit. I did try it on a more solid surface, and it did improve the nail depth a bit more consistently, but not "perfect."
I even tried cleaning the tool with Paslode Cordless Tool Cleaner spray, then lubing it with Paslode Cordless Tool Lubricating Oil. Both these excellent products work incredibly well on my other two Ryobi cordless nailers and Ryobi narrow crown stapler. With the P325, I got a little better results, but nothing to "write home about."
All this time, I thought I was the only one with this issue - thanks for the video!

Unfortunate that you had to deal with this! I don't have anything against Ryobi stuff, but this one was a fail for me.

Thanks for the video. I was looking at these but will hold off on getting it. Always a drag when a new tool doesn’t perform as expected.

You have the wood on a card table which is absorbing much of the impact, watch the gun jump off the boards at 3:50. You are also lifting the gun too early. Put the wood on the floor and try again. I've driven 2-1/2 nails fully into oak. The gun has plenty of power.

Thanks for stopping by! I have tried the gun in a number of other scenarios besides what is shown in the video, and unfortunately it is still giving me issues. I am glad yours has worked well though!

@@ToolsWithAdrius Could it be the nails you're using? I have all of the AirStrike guns and the fully live up to all of the hype...except for the 23ga pin nailer which I do not like.

Definitely a possibility! I will try out a different brand and see how it goes.

I agree. There was little to no gun bounce on the last three correctly driven nails .

I have the same gun as well as the 23 gauge, 18 gauge, narrow crown stapler and the framing nailer. The ONLY time I have had consistent failures like this is when I don't have a solid surface supporting the material or when I am not putting adequate downward pressure on the gun. I saw deflection of the material when the nail strike occurred as though it was on a card table and it appeared that the user was lifting at or near the point of impact. My guns rarely leave nails proud of the surface unless firing on too light of a setting while nailing hard walnut or oak.

I glad this specific nailer has worked well for you. I have nothing against Ryobi products and it's quite possible I happened to get a dud of a nailer!

They just came out with a newer model (P326) that supposedly has a more powerful mechanism. It would be interesting to see the difference in performance.

I would be curious as well to see if there was a performance improvement! Thanks for stopping by!

no bump fire is a bummer and they look very similar, so I wouldn't be surprised if they only made slight changes internally.

I have found that with any 18v or 20v driver lubrication should be done prior to gun going dry. Lubricate upside down so oil can get to pump, oil rails to. Secondly. Don’t dial power settings to light. Know how to adjust depth and don’t buy CHEAP NAILS.

Just bought a new one, the 2” nails won’t sink deep enough - I adjusted the depth all the way and set the power setting all the way up too and it still leaves 1/8” to 1/4” of the nails sticking out. Kinda bummed!

Sorry to hear that! I have nothing again Ryobi and hoping my nailer was a rare dud from them.

the p325 works, it just needs to be warmed up. I had it at the lowest setting and it was firing it a little too deep for my liking. I know this because the crown stapler was also like that especially on colder days. P325 imo is better than Milwaukee's Gen 1 15ga nailer (i know comparing apple to oranges) because the holes made by the nailer are not as big, but it's not very consistent. I really can't complain as I only paid 74 dollars for it, so it will pay itself in no time.

I'm glad yours has worked well! The Gen 1 nailers from Milwaukee definitely had a pile of issues. My 15GA Ryobi nailer has worked flawlessly. The 16GA for some reason has given me some issues, unfortunately.

Maybe if you use the adjustments in the mailer will work good , I have a 16 gauge and a 23 gauge with no problems

I'm glad yours works well! I tried every setting and could not get this one to work well for me. Hopefully I just had a dud and everyone else's works well. Thanks for stopping by!

Maybe it looked that you was not using the adjustment to its full use, as other videos I have seen the nails have been going beneath the surface.

It's kind of annoying that Ryobi is making cordless nailers. Did they even have a pneumatic line ever? It's like the things that separate trade brands from recreation homeowner tools are nailers, cordless nailers, a line of SDS drills, a line of grinders, etc. Cordless nailers are touchy tools. They're expensive to manufacture. There's a reason they cost so much. "Cost saving measures" which defines Ryobi, is just not gonna cut it on this type of tool. There just shouldn't be a Ryobi level cordless nailer line imo. They're expanding to make every single possible tool, just like Milwaukee(which also bugs me) I think that does a disservice to the homeowner who wants to do a project and buys these things. I Ryobi circular saw, or drill, etc, will work just fine for occasional use. They won't have a lot of power, but will be sufficient to get the job done. This is a different story.
    What's next? Ryobi rebar cutter?

I don't recall Ryobi ever having a pneumatic line of nailers. I also own the Ryobi 15GA Finish Nailer and have not had any issues with it. For some reason the 16GA model was a dud for me. Thanks for stopping by!

Yes Ryobi made a line of pneumatic nailers. They are not too commonly seen but they definitely were available. I don't know why you would be annoyed with a company producing any tool that works. I have this gun as well as the 18 gauge, 23 gauge, narrow crown stapler and now the framing nailer and they all work flawlessly as long as I use them as intended. Its a nail gun and needs to be used with adequate downforce to avoid the gun lifting off of the work surface on impact as this user was doing.
