Maybe it looked that you was not using the adjustment to its full use, as other videos I have seen the nails have been going beneath the surface.

Is it just me or is the M18 Gen 3 impact super uncomfortable when driving longer screws like these? It feels like I have to hold on for dear life when the tool starts to impact.

Just used my 16G for the first time today, I can't tell you how much easier it made my project (paneling walls in an attic way). Next I have the steps and risers and some trim moulding. The nail gun was difficult to find as none of the big stores or local hardware stores sold them. Finally found one on Amazon after looking for about three months. This is an awesome tool, it's safe to say that Milwaukee "nailed" it!

Uhhh-Dude- That thing looks like 98% the same thing as my 5cf Yardmax mixer. The only 2% difference seems to be in the paint difference. Great review- Thx!

I have found that with any 18v or 20v driver lubrication should be done prior to gun going dry. Lubricate upside down so oil can get to pump, oil rails to. Secondly. Don’t dial power settings to light. Know how to adjust depth and don’t buy CHEAP NAILS.

Can somebody help me please, I have this 15ga, now Milwaukee released the 16ga, I am really confused on what is the difference between the 15ga and the 16ga, also differences in applications! Do I have to get the 16ga if I already own the 15ga?

Found this video just last night, many years later. I have the same problem with my P325, and it was new when I purchased it, not reconditioned like yours. As an experiment, I set the air pressure regulator lever all the way to the left (minus), and the micro depth adjustment all the way counter-clockwise so the nail sets at minimum depth. I used a strip of 1" nails, and it barely drove the nails into the pine 2 x 4 - about 1/2" of the nails were protruding above the wood. I did the opposite, and set the lever all the way to the right (plus), and the micro adjust all the way in for maximum nail depth. At these settings, it drove the nails very well, and set them a reasonable depth below the surface. However, when I set the lever half way between + and -, and the micro depth half way, I got the same inconsistent results. Some nails drove fine, while others stuck above the wood quite a bit. I did try it on a more solid surface, and it did improve the nail depth a bit more consistently, but not "perfect." I even tried cleaning the tool with Paslode Cordless Tool Cleaner spray, then lubing it with Paslode Cordless Tool Lubricating Oil. Both these excellent products work incredibly well on my other two Ryobi cordless nailers and Ryobi narrow crown stapler. With the P325, I got a little better results, but nothing to "write home about." All this time, I thought I was the only one with this issue - thanks for the video!

i bought this last year as i had bought the impact driver that came with 2 batteries and a charger on a deal in 2022 so i used the 2nd battery from there for this. i love it. takes 63mm nails and its really powerful! battery lasts many hours for what i use it for. its heavy but thats an advantage in some situations. feels well built.

Got this recently off of Amazon, brand new in box. The nails that came in the box won't fire and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Any tips? When I test fire, the air and actuator leave a mark in the wood. The nails that came with it are ~1.5"? Thoughts? Tips?

M12 lineup is for your “weekend warrior/ DIY” folks and the M18 is for the professionals or the folks who just got more money. I just finished rebuilding my 400 sqft deck with a M12 impact driver and my only regret was not having a bigger battery. I just took a lot of breaks lol

I'm glad the forward lower leg tube didn't buckle like so many others have. Seems like that tube is much weaker than the rest of the frame. Look at reviews like found on Home D., etc.

I'm getting this because I want it to take on finishing work but also step up to wood paneling and a bit larger stuff. I know the 1,2mm 18ga leaves smaller holes. But I'm not bothered by the larger hole.

I use to use dewalt but always wanted a Milwaukee. By accident I got a Metabo and will never use the others again. So much better. Plus u get mekita brand along with Metabo brand.

Just bought a new one, the 2” nails won’t sink deep enough - I adjusted the depth all the way and set the power setting all the way up too and it still leaves 1/8” to 1/4” of the nails sticking out. Kinda bummed!

18v speed like hell

I have the same gun as well as the 23 gauge, 18 gauge, narrow crown stapler and the framing nailer. The ONLY time I have had consistent failures like this is when I don't have a solid surface supporting the material or when I am not putting adequate downward pressure on the gun. I saw deflection of the material when the nail strike occurred as though it was on a card table and it appeared that the user was lifting at or near the point of impact. My guns rarely leave nails proud of the surface unless firing on too light of a setting while nailing hard walnut or oak.

I scored this baby for $80 from Facebook marketplace and it's such an amazing tool.

I had the old Milwaukee M18 brushless and was debating on the Surge or the Gen 3 to replace my brushless. After seeing lots of reviews I went with the Surge. I’m glad I did because it’s so controllable and it’s so quiet. I picked up a Gen 3 M18 at a pawn shop for 75 bucks for kicks and giggles and I’m sure glad I bought the Surge first. That Gen 3 really overdrives screws without even trying. If your bit is long enough it’ll drive a deck screw entirely through a 2x4.

Kinda wish they had adaptor for non star lock blades.

Anyone know why Makita doesn't include the little urethane bumper cylinders in the battery hatch like they do for all their other tools? There are receptors for it, but neither my tool nor this one have any in the slots.

I have the Milwaukee Gen 2 18GA brad, and the 23GA pin nailer. Would I need a 16GA or could I just skip that for the 15GA and be fine due to already having the 18GA for the smaller jobs?

The M12 is plenty for deck screws but the M18 really shines for larger screws.

Looks good. I have actually run my 887 DeWalt until it smoked out! Lots of heavy duty screws. Up to 5/16”. I am a multi platform guy, but am going to switch my impact driving to Milwaukee, it is faster. There is kind of a funny feeling you get when running 6-8” T30 or T40 screws uniting two treated 4x4’s and hoping it will not start smoking! I have also thought about the Bosch multi volt offering too, I do have several Bosch tools also.

Fein has been making the best multi tools for 20 years now, but this one is probably just as good. It’s by far the best you can buy from the big box stores.

Man the m18 is a beast, haven’t got to use mine much as I just got it but it is definitely going to be nice when installing solar panels 👍🏽
