- Stoeger STR-9 Unboxing & First Shots.....Very Surprised. Fantastic and I mean fantastic budget pistol. I had an absolute blast shooting this pistol this morning. I am definitely going to do a 1000 round review of this pistol.

Two years later the STR-9 is still a great pistol, I just ordered a STR-9F for 157.00 after a 75.00 rebate...what a steal!
Affordable and reliable for a decent price is a great thing. Handled one this past weekend and was impressed. Run a few hundred military ball rds. thru it to break it in. Clean and lube and cycle the trigger and slide for another 200 rds. and it will feel even better. A great entry level or truck gun for sure.
I purchased mine in August 22, & so far after 200+ FMJ, JHP 115G 124G & 147G no failures or issues and the back strap was tolerable for a working mans hands, not desk jockeys. The site paint is still there. It is highly accurate at 25 yards shooting 5" targets. I recommend it.
Screw the hate messages. I didn’t clean my g3c the whole first year carrying it. Took it too the range recently and it ran like it needed to.
That is awesome, but you should clean your pistol. It is good for the gun. Taurus has come a long way, and they are building great pistols for the price. They're awesome. They opened a factory in Georgia. When you buy a Taurus pistol, look for the Georgia stamp on the gun. They are making great, reliable guns out of that factory.
Looks like a nice pistol. A lot of us right handed shooters shoot low left. Thanks for the video.
I have had the str-9f for a few months now love it came with flat trigger, 2 mags ans 3 back straps. Great shooter never had a malfunction.
Have had 2 Glocks have sold both. This Stoger is far superior fit in the hand and trigger .
Awesome, thanks for the comment
@@brianinthewildcolorado2778 No worries great pistol very accurate .
A very good new for me, 'cause I intend to own this STR-9F. Greetings from France.
The models that come with the Flat trigger are the newer models.
I have always heard good things about stoeger shotguns, my daughter has a stoeger air rifle, but now I'm intrigued with this pistol!
I seen this one about 6 months ago on a web site and no one had it. Finally found it and very impressed with it. There shotguns are great too lol
I traded my sig p320 for one ,absolutely love it my accuracy is amazing compared to the 320 only thing is the spring like you say hopefully it will loosen up.
Just purchased one..cleaned it and oiled it..50 rounds of 124 grain new republic and then 50 rounds of 115 grain blazer brass..shot perfect..i have quite a few 9mm pistols and this one is really nice in my opinion
Ps I dry fired it probably 300 times too
Love mine as well. So accurate. I've only put 83 rounds through it so far with no problems. Used Remington UMC 115 grain fmj and a few rounds of Winchester 147 grain jhp.
Fantastic, I am liking it a lot. Thanks for the comment Tony
@@brianinthewildcolorado2778 It was my Christmas present to myself. I've only ever had a .32 revolver for 25 years and haven't shot it in at least 20 years. This is my first centerfire handgun. The 9mm is more powerful than I was expecting. That first shot was a real "Holy Crap!" moment. I heard the grip was aggressive but I never noticed it once for the hour and a half I shot it. The mag springs are pretty stiff and the mag loader that came with it was appreciated. I haven't heard of the white dot coming off, that's ridiculous.
@@Tony-vh2ik fantastic, glad you got it. Yeah I’ve never had a site pop off like that lol. I used some cleaner about 15 years ago that my uncle made and it took painted sites right off. I’m going to look for some good replacements, for now I filled the little hole with orange glow in the dark paint. Thanks for watching the video, happy new year
@@brianinthewildcolorado2778 I've ran about 700 rounds through it now. Using Winchester 124 grain Nato rounds and also aluminum case blazer. I did a mag dump and got my first stovepipe after around 5 of the Nato rounds. Might've limpwristed it. Finished the mag dump with no problems. No problems since. I've just gotten a Girsan Regard MC and have ran maybe 4 hundred rounds through that beautiful thing. I can't get enough of these two Turks! Spending too much on ammo for sure.
@@Tony-vh2ik awesome, I’ll heading out tomorrow with mine. Hoping to get a few hundred through it. It’s so close to the M&P I may be selling this one and getting another budget friendly pistol to review. Thanks for all the comments. Really helps people out to see what others have experienced!
Picked up a stoger srt9 2 days ago took to range yesterday had 2 fail to eject with 115 grain ammo but ate up 124 grain like a champ love it so far people have to remember stoger just introduced this gun in 2019 so ther are some bugs to work out I habe the 2021 version and love it
Awesome, a little spring break in and hopefully it ejects 115 just fine. Thanks for the comment Guy
Slick looking little pistol
Looks like a fun plinker!
Very impressed with it. Just as good as a Smith and Wesson and a blast to shoot
Good, honest review 👍 There is a reason why they make ice cream in different flavors. You're free to have your own expectations from the firearms that tou purchase. Haters gonna hate anyway. Who cares 😀 ?
Couldn't help but comment, I've struggled mightily removing the slide from lower on my new STR 9.
Haven't been able to shoot mine too much yet but I've seen it shot of by many many youtubers and I have yet to see one malfunction
Im having problems with mine. Shooting Winchester 115gr and having so many stovepipes and double feeds. I am thinking ammo is underpowered since recoil spring on my gun is stupidly heavy. probably the heaviest recoil I have ever had. Have to try 124gr and see what happens but should be able to shoot 115 without any issues... might have to go back to Stoeger for repair.
Oh dang, sorry your dealing with that. Yeah definitely get some communication with Stoeger going on that. Let me know what happens with it, thanks for the comment
Most European pistols are designed around 124gr NATO (roughly SAAMI +P) and so is the Stoeger STR. Leave the slide racked back for a few days and your troubles will mostly go away. It'll still like the 124gr +P ammo the best though. Don't give up. It's a great gun 👍
@@almatt8310 I sold this gun. Not reliable.
😢mine is it's inerds are identical to a Glock 17
It says in the book to shoot 124gr for break in. That is what I did and mine is reliable. It shoots 115gr and lower without any problems. I have heard that these pistols can be picky with the 115gr ammo FMJ. I followed the directions and did not have any issues. I have a 900 round-count so far.
1000 flawless rounds through mine.
I love my stoker 9mm straight on
I liveng in turkey I decided to buy stoeger str 9 thx to do video
how much did it cost in Turkey?
I like my Stoeger STR-9, which is part of the Benelli family, not S&W, even though the trigger is a bit "spongy"! Wahi' Valleys
Yes, I mentioned it looked like an S&W, very close. I am very impressed with this budget pistol. Thanks for the comment Wahi Valleys
So nice
I can’t wait to head to the range again with it.
Stoeger has it right IMO. Would rather have a cheap cardboard box reducing the overall cost than a nicer plastic case that I will never use again, presentation only.
You think 10 dollars would cover the cost of a case? Great review
Glock internals
Not a good handgun. Had to replace it with a Glock because it had constant stove pipes and fte issues constantly. Never trust your life with this gun imo
Thank you for the comment, great info. I’ll keep on eye on those issues.
@@brianinthewildcolorado2778 I just think people should save the extra 150$ and get a Glock or another reliable name like Springfield or something.
@@Kamingo170 good point. Me personally I’ve had a few glocks and dislike them. I even shot one for 2 years in competition and still not a fan. There great point and shoot firearms I just do not like them. I do agree, save a bit longer and get a higher quality manufacturer. I’m very interested to go out 1000 rounds thru the Stoeger and see what happens
@@brianinthewildcolorado2778 Yea I hear that alot. Glock suits me well just for my hand and I like the feel and simple approach. To each their own I guess lol
you should have had 124gr instead of 115gr ;)
