The reason it goes so well with everything is because metal is actually very close to classical in principle. It just tends to be at a louder volume and lower register
If you consider Wagakki Band metal, then it pairs together with traditional Japanese music well, too. When I first heard 千本桜 (sen bon zakura, meaning a thousand cherry blossoms), it blew my mind.
its great seeing kim dracula on here, for me he is definitely one of the most talented fun artists out there! he makes things flow so well and his new album is one of my favorites
There's 2 times of Metal & Jazz fusion. One is a really cool combination of the jazz instruments/techniques with the metal instrumental qualities. The other is just tech death. 😂😂
Thanks to this post on IG, I finally found that song & artist! I heard it between bandss during a show at El Corazon but I was too caught up in conversation and 2 drinks in to shazam it haha
CRANK IT. Saw him live a while back, he really does the most. And I specifically complimented the guitarist afterwards on how he played the "country" lick 😆
Metal amd orchestral music is a goft from the gods. Ive tried to explain to people how amazingly well metal complements every genre out there. This is some good hard proof. Thank you. ❤
they've been my absolute favourite for a while and saw them in 2019 and then i bought tickets for them (for this Thursday) earlier this year before their latest album dropped ... and i'm deeply disappointed in the new album as a whole 😢 but still recommend checking out every other work they've got
And now you’ve got the idea of how much fun being in a jazz metal band in high school was. Raging on the sax with my buddy Andrew on sticks was so much fuckin fun
Metal is the common crux of human suffering, churned through the soul and output as resonant tones that shake the foundation of feeling to its core. It is the viscera underlying all else; it is the blistered feet and bloodied hands of the mother, the ragged voice and desperation of the child; it is purpose through pain, and all who breathe know it’s call. Some simply fear the common metal in us all, the iron binding our blood to life.
If you like experimental metal music I really recommend the bang cojum dip! They mix metal with a lot of different genres and such and I really enjoy and recommend them!
Not mentioning baby metal should be a crime sir. (Also the end by lil uzi vert and baby metal is rap, j pop and metal. Absolute banger I can’t stop listening to it)
I can find a ska fusion with any genre. The obvious ones being punk, Jazz, and new wave but there's ska chiptune(Tapegirl), ska hyperpop (Eichlers, a couple songs by 100 Gecs), and ska metal (Leftover Crack)
I wonder if loving metal is why I genuinely love every genre of music too. Normal people who say "I love all music" mean "anything that doesn't have screaming in it" Whereas I will listen to anything if its good. Most on my On Repeat isn't even metal these days
I watched the whole clip and you forgot to include 90s UK Breakbeat. (First thing that came to mind) Oh well, time to fire up FL Studio and test the theory myself.
Orchestral goes crazy
It really does!
Yeah Pain Remains opened me up to some cool shit that was typically not quite as heavy. Orchestral stuff made that album stand out for me 😅
I feel like a track from Epica would've been a slightly better fit
That’s why Lorna Shores my 2nd favorite band of all time
if u like orchestral metal try a band called Imperial Circus Dead Decadence
every genre pairs perfectly with every genre if you use the right songs.
Every genre can pair with any other, it's all a matter of what elements you decide to fuse together 😁
it's a matter of composition
Show me one good funk/orchestral song...
Omg yes, literally my thoughts, so glad you commented this
They can all pair with each other but the distinction is metal perfectly pairs with them all. It just hits different
The reason it goes so well with everything is because metal is actually very close to classical in principle. It just tends to be at a louder volume and lower register
@shawnsimianin terms of scales and harmony they are quite similar
There's really no reason, you can cross any genre with any if you do it well.
@r-xacer8112 correct. But the closer two genres are to each other the easier of a time you have combining them
Orchestral + Metal? My brother in Steel, that's just Symphonic Metal.
The best pairing.
Bloodywood gets that Indian folk music with metal. And its amazing
Yes! More love for Bloodywood!
HELL YEAH 🔥
i saw them live, never heard of them before that show but they were super good
I convinced my non-metal-listening friends to drive 14 hours to a 3-day metal festival to see them live, they liked Bloodywood so much
i fucking LOVE bloodywood. the blend of traditional indian instruments with dirty vocals IS INSAAAAANE

This is true they're known as ABBA Metal
I didn’t show a pop combo because tons of modern metal has pop influence in choruses and such now. Ghost is rad tho 🤘🏻
