I guess it just let's you stay in the peak HP range with full throttle. Might save a millisecond as you don't need to adjust your right leg after dropping the clutch.
If I had money to buy one of them, I would take RCF. RCF seems to be more luxurious and although RCF might be little slower on tracks, it has V8 and is distinctive
I’m terms of luxury, keep in mind they compared the top of the line RCF vs the bottom of the line M3. You can get an M3/M4 Comp with better seats/leather, lots of carbon fiber, and even more power and performance than the RCF track edition all for about the same price. My guess is they did the best they could to line up an RCF track Edit ok with an M3, and this was the best they could get instead of getting a top of the line, fully loaded M3/M4 which would be a better comparison.
The crazy thing is I searched for the Rcf track edition on this channel just yesterday and I didn’t see it. Now somehow the next day you guys post a Rcf track edition video; just crazy.
M3 obv has crazy numbers but gotta side with the RC here. Looks, NA V8, decent tech, and we would all feel way more comfortable with that car after 40,000 miles. Great vid!

The real problem with the Track Edition is the price. It works great as a daily/track car, but for that much money you could easily by an older RCF and upgrade everything.
I'll take the RCF Track Edition because of the normally aspirated V8. It's a Lexus so it'll hold its value and last forever. This will be a rare collector's car.
Just had this decision to make myself It was between the M4 comp and RCF . I went for the g82 , it feels nicer inside, easier to live with and better tech. Not an easy decision to make that V8 is awesome
They're both hideously ugly cars, so you both have shit taste in design. The standard 3 series looks far better, as do the current audi RS models, especially.thr RS6 Avant.

No it isnt.I have not driven any new manuals of BMW yet but Carfection, Henry ,Chris Harris , Joseph , Yuri and Jacub and many other journalists have said it is a great transmission maybe not as good as Japenese( like Type R ,etc) but anyway it is better than the automatic transmission in Lexus.
Chassis, perfect weight distribution, B58 and 6MT are too good to pass. Particularly due to having 4 doors and being almost $30k cheaper. The LC500 is the Lexus to get if you want a two door. This RCF is the Lexus to get if you can’t afford an LFA but want the second rarest Lexus sports car.
As BMW fanboys, im jealous of lexus because it's goodlooking, reliable, powerful and can run last forever. That lexus so stunning unlike the BMW 😌 so ugly 🤮. I hope BMW smaller the grill
RCF loses out because of the dated tech imo. One thing is does have standard are ventilated seats, which is nice. The transmission is also something that's fairly lack-luster.
@@Scorched_gymsocks It's not that bad really. My commute is all local roads, and while my old '04 4cyl Camry got a little over 20mpg my RC F gets about 17. Many people drive large SUVs and trucks as their daily and they get similar gas mileage or worse.

That's what really got me, I was like "there's no way this M3 is barely beating an RCF" and then they pan and show it's a manual. Might as well throw out the whole speed comparison because DCTs are faster than 99.9% of humans can shift. Plus even if you perfectly shift the M3 is just so consistent and quick. I 100% think that the reviewer that was driving it had a lot of driver error because the RCF is like almost half a second slower than the M3. 0-60 M3 is sub 4 at 3.8/3.9. DCT M3 would smoke the RCF.
@@justinnguyen3091 The new M3's don't use DCT anymore. They ditched that from the previous gen, but this new automatic trans in the Competition model is actually faster. The M3 competition (only automatic) will do 0-60 consistently on real road conditions in 3.5-3.6 seconds.
@@MClowe7 it’s a ZF8 speed which I’m surprised they switch to. ZF8 speeds are very fast and smoother than DCTs so I guess I shouldn’t be as surprised. DCTs did not like low speed driving. However the new G80 M3 will blow the doors off the RCF. We basically have to wait for the new IS-F because that’ll have 660HP Twin Turbo V8 which is gonna cost easily +100K facing the M6

I was so torn. I love these cars and really wanted an m3 or rs5 then I then I stared to learn a bit about the rcf. I’m not rich, live a normal life and know how to turn a wrench. I went with the rcf because I got a used for for the price of a new mustang , 40k. It has cost me tires and brakes, a few mods. I love it. I don’t think I would have been able to easily afford a m3, maintenance, parts, etc. I think a used RCF is the best way to go and am so happy I chose it. If you’re thinking about one, do it! I think most people will love the rcf at the used price. I can’t image spending even 60k on a car who has that kind of money?
I remember when Top Gear did a drag race between the F80 M4 non competition against the RC F when it was first released, and the M4 smoked the Lexus in a drag race. This really should be no contest for the M3 because it’s newer and better than the M4 that’s already beat an RC F.
@TheStraightPipes The Lexus RCF Track Edition is a phenomenal achievement for a Japanese car manufacturer, but the value proposition that made Japanese car manufacturers so successful has kinda gone out the window now. If it's gonna be more money it HAS to be more car, like significantly more car. So if you combine drive/track with price the BMW wins by a significant margin.
After owning the RC F and the M5, BMW M5 is the one to drive. However, I kept the RC F for its reliability. When the M5 electronics went bad, it was tough to the wallet.
For a Frankenstein anomaly that started life from a platform introduced in 2003 (Toyota N platform), the RC has matured into such a fine car. Lexus is a company of continuing improvements (Kaizen) and I’m sure they’ll continue to refine the RC and address the shortcomings Jakub brought up. Until then, the BMW is obviously the more superior performer being that it is 3 generations ahead and was built from the ground up as a track focused car. I’m very excited to see what Lexus has in store for us with their upcoming IS500 or even ISF. Thank you for a phenomenal video Straightpipes! Good job to BMW and Lexus

Even with that grille, the M3 wins for me. Better all around package and much cheaper as well.
After owning the RC F and the M5, BMW M5 is the one to drive. However, I kept the RC F for its reliability. When the M5 electronics went bad, it was tough to the wallet.
For a Frankenstein anomaly that started life from a platform introduced in 2003 (Toyota N platform), the RC has matured into such a fine car. Lexus is a company of continuing improvements (Kaizen) and I’m sure they’ll continue to refine the RC and address the shortcomings Jakub brought up. Until then, the BMW is obviously the more superior performer being that it is 3 generations ahead and was built from the ground up as a track focused car. I’m very excited to see what Lexus has in store for us with their upcoming IS500 or even ISF. Thank you for a phenomenal video Straightpipes! Good job to BMW and Lexus

It be the BMW for me. love how load the interior is! I would try to get the exterior in that color or wrap it to match.
S58 is a dream. B58 with less than 1k in mods would compete with these 2 stock cars. Crazy.

well the material is worlds better in the rcf than in the bmw, but in terms of the infotainment i agree.
Lexus's spindle grill looking fine on any Lexus though. And I agree with Jakub, the RCF looks so good.
