That timeout turned out to be key...
After that they didn't allow a single shot. Knobloch is a much better coach than I thought he was. He's got balls for sure with alot of the bold ass decisions him and the coaching staff made lol
I'd say he played a part in saving this series for them. Was pretty intriguing to see unfold the way it did

      100% my friend
Much harder to play against than an over the hill Corey Perry that just can't keep up anymore...who's best play of the playoffs was the stick hovering shenanigan move...🤦
Wins draws, clearly afraid of nobody (ran Zadorov multiple times 👍), can hop into the PK if needed (a nice bonus considering he didn't play a single second on the PK tonight...I think 🤔), and arguably most important (especially in a series like this getting their butts kicked in this category...🤦) wins important draws 👍
I wasn't touching Derek Ryan as he had a solid series in my opinion but I'm certainly not touching Carrick at this point. Another thing he did was actually helped create another competent line as well 👍
A big ass step up in weight class against Dallas for sure but will be interesting

Interestingly enough, Bruce's comments about the Oiler's ability to block dangerous shots mirrored the same comments made by Vancouver's Coach Tochett who stated that both the blocked shots plus the inability by the Canucks to hit the net were among the major reasons as to why the Oilers were victorious in this hard fought contest.

    Aman 1 1 50.0
    Pettersson 0 1 0.00
Just looking at the stats the Oilers shot a lot more, Hit a lot less, won slightly fewer faceoffs, went 50% on the PP and 100% on the PK (whereas Vancouver went 0% on the PP and 50% on the PK), and had a LOT more blocked shots (like nearly triple). The rest was a statistical wash. The team that should have won this game did. Round 3 against Dallas starting on Thursday. McLeod's error is what gave Vancouver the 1st goal in the 3rd and sparked them toward the second less than 4 minutes later. The play times were managed somewhat. Holloway, who had a good game stats wise, played more 3rd line minutes (almost 4th line) than the 2nd line he was supposed to be on (though Kane didn't have a lot more than that). Oilers won and move on to round 3. That's what's important.

Dallas is very good but not invincible. They have lost 4 playoff games, Oilers have lost 4 playoff games as well. Dallas has allowed a bunch of goals as well so anything can happen. Dallas might be deep but they don't have Drai, McDavid and Bouchard.

That breakaway attempt by Brown was the perfect summation of his season. Incredible opportunity with absolutely zero finishing ability. His shot placement was worse than if he'd missed the net. Just directly at the goalie and with the closest defender over 5 feet behind him.

Canucks deserves some kudos for their season. Their fans should be proud. And the words "if only" at the forefront.
Because if they had a full roster, who knows what happens?
Oilers and Dallas have a hard object to handle in front of them. Dallas with their depth and Oilers with their dynamic play.
This is an exorcism long overdue for the Oilers. I remember many somber days from the hands of the Stars, new fans, beware!

I always enjoy Bruce & David breakdowns. Respect to Vancouver team for a great season and hell of a series.
Question about the Edm first goal. Slowing down the Ceci goal it from the angle behind the shooter it looked like Holloway tips it as it slightly changed angles.
On the last “ block “ from Janmark…..I thought it hit Zadorov foot in front. Maybe it went of Janmarks stick and Zadorov? Either way Skinner did not even move or square up to the shot before JT Miller ripped it off. Very fortunate because that was labeled far side with a goalie that has zero reaction.
