Great video, beautiful country up there. Stinks not seeing anything. Got my first ELK the second day this year just above cougar WA, nice 4x3. Always happens when you least expect it. Had just stopped to water a tree lol. Thank you for taking the time to share your adventures with all of us!
Oh, I remember those hunts, took my god kids on an overnighter for the archery blacktail opener one year, south of Randle. Cat Creek, Blue Lake ridge area, near Hamilton Butte. The rain started just after dark, and we were out cutting willow sticks and making bows under the blue tarps. The tent my god son was in, stayed fairly sound, but his sister and I woke up with our feet under water the next morning. At least end of Aug. , 1st of Sept. it's still not cold. But it aint fun. Took them fishing up to Chambers lake, missed a spike that morning. Saw a doe and a young fawn, they asked me to not shoot the momma. I ain't been in a camp, since I took a late veteran friend, and set up a camp and we stayed a week up near Highrock lookout south of Ashford. Saw one deer the entire week, but made some good memories.
Awesome thanks for sharing Adam that elk country didn’t look so bad. Was that a gut pile on the side of the road when you were driving in to the last campground it’s to bad you did get any thing
Its too bad we used to have an Elk camp over at Rimrock and always encountered Elk but the Elk numbers got so bad we had to move our Camp to a complete other Area to find decent hunting. Nice area though but not enough Elk and too many hunters all in one place.
@@apoutdoorsPNW we got drawn for a big bull tag this year for Rimrock last year we ate a cow tag super terrible hunting last year only 12 spikes harvested the whole unit and 0 cows for modern

Congratulations on your elk. I hope to get drawn for a any bull tag but I hope that every year lol. Thanks for watching.
Very nice video
I wish I had family roots like that. 💪🏽. I can almost hear it in your voice as you walked up to that cross…
Lots of memories at that spot for sure.
Another great video bud, thanks for sharing you experience!!! Elk hunting Washington is a tough go, most of the time just a fun camping trip.
Thank you. I had a blast. It is tough but just glad to get out and have the experience.
Awesome video neighbor! We camp on the other side of the creek from you. And you know Hook??? Small world!
Thank you. Hook has been apart of my family for along time.

Thanks for watching. That's what it is about the memories. That's why I started filming to share these memories with family, friends and the world.

Thanks for watching. Yeah I love it up there. And yes that was a gut pile.
This is where I grew up camping
Nice. I grew up hunting elk in those spots.
Can I legally hunt with 7.62x39 Ar rifle in Washington state?
The smallest caliber you can use for big game is .24, so using 7.62x39 would be legal.
@@apoutdoorsPNW thank you!

It's definitely not like it used to be. The only thing that keeps me going back is the hopes of a bull tag.
Sucks because there is a fire up there now
Yeah, I was there right before the fire doing some camping. I got drawn for a cow tag rimrock side. Hopefully it does not screw with my hunting.

@Thinkingaboutfishing Good luck . I got a cow tag for Rimrock this year. Hopefully I don't eat tag soup.
