    Thanks for the realistic hunting videos. I used to get discouraged about not harvesting an animal, especially during an out of state hunt. The tags and traveling gets expensive, but it’s more than the harvest of the animal; it’s the harvest gathered from family, friends, experiences and memories.

      Thanks for the comment and you are definitely correct. The harvest is only small part of it.

    Great hunt. Even finding elk in WA is a success!

    Thanks for putting up these videos. I hunt many of the same areas and I appreciate knowing that I’m not the only one that has Murphy over my shoulder. Keep it up buddy!

    Been enjoying your vids. Is that a kuiu guide you wearing. If so how you like it and how you layering with it for that cold weather

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  2 роки тому

      It is the Guide jacket. My under layers consist of either the Peloton 240 and Kenai hooded jacket or Strongfleece 260 and Super down Ultra depending on how cold it is.

    My rifle always rides next to me in the driver seat. Never had an issue with poi shift. Even with the cheap 25 year old vx2 I have on my rifle.

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  Рік тому

      If it shifts riding in the car then it’s a crap scope. Have someone fall and land on it and tell me how it goes. My wife slipped and fell with my rifle when we were hunting in Idaho. I just never remembered to check when I got home. Shit happens to everyone. Some don’t hunt enough to ever experience it all.

    Sometimes things just go to crap. My first archery bull I had buck fever so bad I gut shot my bull at 23 yards when normally I’m splitting arrows at that range. But we always strive to learn to be better there are no negatives there man only learning experiences.

    No hate here, buddy. I know how hard and disappointing that must be. Keep your head up. From a long time fan, I know you have made longer shots than that on smaller targets.

    I like how you post the misses too. most people only show the hits and in long range hunting/shooting everyone is gonna miss sometimes. Next time you should put the camera/spotting scope behind you so you could watch the vapor trail and see where you missed, and the spotting scope won’t shake from the muzzle blast

    As I watched you shoot, I tried to see were the round impacted. No dirt kick up or trees bark flying. Sometimes a small bump of the scope can cause this issue. I to have this happen. Change how you Trans port the rifle, better luck next time. May you have succes next time.

    Watching this for the first time and you said you had left to right wind, wind coming up the canyon held your bullet up you shot high each time, like the video because it was focused I could see it

    Drilled that tree on the last shot it looked like, you would have hit her if that tree wasn't in the way.

      It's hard to see but it actually deflected off a small branch before hitting the tree. Hard to see at the time with no spotter.

    u need to practice on sighting your rifle in better. i can see maybe 1 or 2 shots but after that you're just shooting blindly and then you would injury the animal instead of killing it.

      Tell me what I don’t already know. Good thing I record my stuff and knew when to stop shooting. I watched every shot before taking the next and stopped shooting even when the elk was still hanging up there.
