    I was a COVID long hauler and got infected in March 2020. 6.5 months into my long haul symptoms, I took 12 mg of ivermectin for 4 days. Within 24 hrs, I felt an improvement. After 48 hrs, all my symptoms were gone. They have not come back since over the last 5 months.

      In my country Homeopathy is quite a thing so I know many people who swear this "medicine" helped them against almost anything. The placebo effect can be extremely strong. Of course we should look into Ivermectin but as long as we don’t have a double blind study everything is just anecdotal evidence.

    • @resourcedragon
      @resourcedragon 3 роки тому +7

      That's true. However I would advise caution when giving animal medications to people. Even if the packet comes with dosage instructions for dogs or cats or horses, working out the dose for a human by taking the weight of the intended animal patient and the weight of the human patient and multiplying the dosage by that ratio isn't necessarily going to give you the correct dose. Humans may need either more or less per unit of body weight than dogs or horses or guinea pigs or whatever.
      I also suspect that the inactive ingredients in animal medications may not be the same as those in human medications. The inactive ingredients that don't harm your dog may not be the best choice for you.

      In my country(Brazil) there are tons of people reporting to their doctors they took Ivermectin as a preventive treatment just as they are being moved to the ICU. And it gets worse, patients with mild cases threated with Ivermectin are STILL being moved to the ICUs by the bunch, and still dying. Oh wait.... but it gets even worse! Some people are leaving the hospital with liver damage due to Ivermectin abuse by doctors on hospital admission (those that survive anyways... we will never know how many perished from covid-19 made worse by Ivermectin-trigered toxic hepatitis). But wait again... It can always get worse.... Some people will actually need liver transplant because of Ivermectin abuse, and among those, are young people who never were really infected with covid-19, they were just taking it as a 'prevention'. Due to incidents like that, most doctors are ditching Ivermectin and going out of their way to raise awareness to these issues, and they are clashing often with other doctors that pretend this whole think is not happening. Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), the manufacturer of Ivermectin made public statements, both in portuguese and english, pointing out the fact they've found no scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against covid-19 in vivo and no meaningful evidence for clinical efficacy in patients with covid-19 at any stage of the desase, and the risk that it may be unsafe as it's being used. I felt the need to share this, it has been happening for a while, but only now I've found the time to write it down with the level of detail and consideration it deserves.

    How come dr Campbell , hasn’t heard much about ivermectin but, I have heard nothing but, positives? Also, the interviewee goes to great lengths to highlight the possible side effects but, doesn’t stress the benefits.

    • @hedydd2
      @hedydd2 3 роки тому

      Yes, there is always a risk/benefit balance to be taken. I think what Dr Campbell comes down to is that while there might only be a tiny risk to Ivermectin, it is not actually a 'cure' and the benefits have not been officially quantified. There may be significant benefits, as there is for VitaminD. Both have certain risks. Where there is a paradox is that despite a very low recommended dose and blood level officially indicated for Vat D, Dr Campbell does recommend and recognise that far higher doses are desirable. Yet despite the same kind of evidence for the efficacy and indeed risks of Ivermectin, he does not come to a similar conclusion. The evidence is of a similar type in both cases. He is taking a personal perspective in both cases and there is nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't conflict with the evidence, which I don't think it does.

Watching your video, I am so disappointed that fame? perhaps has become more important than critical thinking. For example, why didn't you remark that most of the side effects from properly dosed IVM relate to the death of parasites in the body. Why did you allow you guest to leave the impression that IVM side effects are so dangerous, rather than emphasize the safety profile of IVM is unparalleled compared to any other drug, even Tylenol. My goodness John, 3.8 billion doses! Further, why didn't you know that your guest doc (a) purposely selected the Barcelona study because it fit her narrative and (b) the Barcelona study has already been discredited? John, what will you say to your friend whose ?? died of Covid's cytokine storm yesterday or ?? , when the WHO comes out in favor of IVM? John, years ago I learned (you must know this, as well) that the medical profession as noble as it is, is also fraught with bias, easily influenced by money, professional hubris and inertia. Yes, this can be said of any profession (even ours!), but when the medical profession is 'that' way, the consequences can result in poor health outcomes including the worst that can happen. Ivermectin proposes many potentials effects to treat a range of diseases, with its antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-cancer properties as a wonder drug. It is highly effective against many microorganisms including some viruses. In this comprehensive systematic review, antiviral effects of ivermectin are summarized including in vitro and in vivo studies over the past 50 years. Several studies reported antiviral effects of ivermectin on RNA viruses such as Zika, dengue, yellow fever, West Nile, Hendra, Newcastle, Venezuelan equine encephalitis, chikungunya, Semliki Forest, Sindbis, Avian influenza A, Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome, Human immunodeficiency virus type 1, and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Furthermore, there are some studies showing antiviral effects of ivermectin against DNA viruses such as Equine herpes type 1, BK polyomavirus, pseudorabies, porcine circovirus 2, and bovine herpesvirus 1. Ivermectin plays a role in several biological mechanisms, therefore it could serve as a potential candidate in the treatment of a wide range of viruses including COVID-19 as well as other types of positive-sense single-stranded RNA viruses. In vivo studies of animal models revealed a broad range of antiviral effects of ivermectin,

Studies of 24 cases are not studies of tens of thousands of cases with respect to novel uses no matter the plethora of such studies reported on the internet. And yes, some would say roll the dice if other options aren't available so a few authorities suggesting it be tried does not give proof either.

      Campbell's guest revealed her biases by suggesting so many studies were inconclusive, raising the tried and true citation of the Australian Petri dish study which used a large dose where she falsely suggested that a high dosage level was needed in order to kill the virus in 48 hours. Wrong! It was the only level they tested. From the study; "we infected Vero/hSLAM cells with SARS-CoV-2 isolate Australia/VIC01/2020 at an MOI of 0.1 for 2 h, followed by the addition of 5 μM ivermectin. Supernatant and cell pellets were harvested at days 0-3 and analysed by RT-PCR for the replication of SARS-CoV-2 RNA". The immune system attacks the mimic virus. What happens to the vaccine virus, can it keep changing to get around the immune system? Guess we will find out.

    I saw a study on Ivermectin that reviewed about 50 studies, all showing effectiveness. The fact that Dr. John does not know anything about it is surprising, as is his guest finding only one very limited study to talk about.
    Also, when talking about new vaccines that use a novel mechanism, you severely understate the risk when you talk of known counter indications, and don't mention that there is a lot that is not known. If Ivermectin were a new drug, used as seldom as these vaccines, you would not have a long list of rare side effects. People are resorting to taking horse paste because doctors and scientists don't care about the truth, and care more about making money for the large pharma companies, who are using this crisis to make people into their guinea pigs.
    Give me a treatment with a known safety profile and side effects and stop pushing experimental vaccines promoted by people like Bill Gates who is on the record as saying that promoting vaccines is intended as population control, and has talked about the need to lessen population as if it were a number in his computer and not people he is consigning to death, or at least, non-existence.

      It's not hilarious. And it is hardly a conspiracy theory. Check out his Ted Talks. He openly speaks of funding vaccinations in Africa as a means of population control by reasoning that if people know their children will survive, they will have fewer children. Not to save lives. Not to lessen suffering. To lessen population.
      I suspect that the increasing African population since he said this, and fact that the Catholic Bishops in Nigeria are pointing to infertility agents being found in tetanus shots targeted at women of childbearing age has something to do with the failure of this reasoning and an attempt to use another mechanism to control population.
      He has also listed out a formula for contributors to climate change, which he sees as a serious problem. One of the factors is population. He then suggests that since these numbers are being multiplied together, in order for the product to approach zero, one of the numbers will need to approach zero. Population is one of the numbers that must approach zero. Think about that. Now, go get your vaccine funded by the Gates Foundation.

    Thanks John. Once again you are quite welcome on a screen in my home today. => Not that it is important to the medical discussion, but the reason for polyethylene glycol in the vaccines wasn’t described correctly. As we are not constructing vaccines, this is really irrelevant, just a small amount must be included, so from a reaction perspective, the reason for the presence isn’t really important. I only mention this as my understanding is different from what was presented. I always appreciate having potential areas where I can refine or improve my understanding pointed out, particularity if done politely. => Next, to diminish concerns with polyethylene glycol, this is the same chemical as is used in motor vehicle cooling systems - the primary additive to lower freezing points, so anyone who has been about or exposed to such cooling fluids and didn’t have a severe reaction can have more comfort with the vaccines with polyethylene glycol. Also, one concerned might just start reading labels to see what products they have been using for years contain polyethylene glycol. One might then not worry, as one already ran an exposure to much larger doses than a vaccine would contain. I hope this is reassuring to some. => Another point where it seems the implications of this video are not as reassuring on taking vaccines as it could, is a vaccine is a very limited exposure to the virus that originated from Wuhan, Hubei, China and is causing the COVID-19 pandemic - much less than an infection would have. The spike protein focused vaccines don’t contain most of the virus, just a small part. Also, the numbers of viral particles from the initial phases of a disease causing infection are much larger than the number of deactivated viral particles contained in a vaccine or the number of spike proteins contained in or produced from a vaccine. With respect to the active part of the vaccine, there is nothing that wouldn’t be in an infection of COVID-19. Unlike the cowpox vaccine, which contained a different virus, nothing new or different here. So those concerned about vaccines can be more comfortable. Any unknown, long term consequence from the pandemic should be less with a vaccine, as the amount of the virus and the number of viral particles are smaller with the vaccine and the vaccine doesn’t contain anything viral or protein different from the active virus. Slight protein difference with all the tens or hundreds of thousands different variants, only a handful of which seem to have different disease progression. So, bottom line, vaccine is disease light, not something different. Not really saying anything different from what you, John have said over your videos, just pulling together to try to help some people be a bit more comfortable with these vaccinations. => Also, given vaccination is disease light, the idea of waiting if one has active COVID-19 or just had it isn’t based on concern of over stressing one immune system. The only reason I can think is that a delay will have the first vaccine act as a booster, but since one overcame the actual infection a vaccine will be trivial and not significant. => Your guest chose her words poorly, some of the vaccines do replicate - but not the virus, just the spike protein - the mRNA vaccines. The adenovaccines don’t replicate, but they aren’t the whole vaccine picture. => It may also be helpful to consider the concern that a contraindication would be someone who was very frail. This seems like an indication. If a vaccine would be life threatening, the full disease will be much worse, so unless one wants to count the frail as already dead and not worth care, vaccination would seem the right thing to do, even if the fragility of the patient made one concerned. => I believe you’ve missed the boat on Ivermectin. Drugs and chemicals have multiple uses. Example ethylene glycol as motor vehicle antifreeze - far more use than in vaccines. I would not apply your reasoning and suggest one avoid a vaccine as people are not motor vehicles. Let’s follow the science whoever it goes. => One might believe one can determine which medications your guest has emotional ties with, as she shifts from diminishing side effects talking about how infrequent vaccine side effects are and how no one died from them in Canada, to just listing the side effects of ivermectin - a drug given in some billions of doses - perhaps the safest drug on the planet. It was also provided absolutely free to much of the world, years ago to treat parasites, and received a Nobel prize. Quite a shift and one that seems not to be based in science. One notes that the NIH went from opposing this use to neutral, even though it has more positive results than many approved drugs. One also notes that reports say it is commonly used in India and Bangladesh, places where the infection rate is much lower than the US , Canada and the UK. Over the Counter. Hummm. => Veterinary drugs may be the same, but the purification and non-active components may be different. Just as tuna cat food may contain the same tuna, but I agree one shouldn’t consume either. => Your guest says there are 47 studies and she picks one. Doesn’t seem science driven. Ivermectin has a half-life of 12 hours so measuring impact from one dose 7 days later, seems perhaps a questionable experiment design. One might think it better to measure outcomes when the drug is still in therapeutic concentrations in the body. One notes that the vaccines were measured for efficiency when the mechanism said there was still a therapeutic response from the vaccine. Again, it seems to this one that the discussion and science diverged. Sad. => I stopped watching, too little science. => Sorry John, not your best effort.
