Vivid Strings Violins From Pulse Audio $29 Never Sounded So Good

- @pulseaudio2330 Pulse Audio is known for providing sample developers a great way to deliver their libraries and now they are creating their very own instrument libraries in house. Vivid Strings is the first in a new series of capturing the string section in a very beautiful and yes affordable way. It is a smaller, focused chamber sized ensemble.
Starting with violins you have a generous assortment of articulations.
The soundstage is very dry opening the door for creative exploration.
It is available now for $79, with additional string sections to be forthcoming, so stay tuned.

Emmett here from Pulse. Thanks for the video! Just a quick note - we're now on v1.2 release and have included the functionality to move the keyswitches, displaying the vibrato type on the UI, unloading articulations, new legato auto select mode for playing faster lines and the option to change release times on legato!
I like Pulse better than Kontakt. I just had to say that.
@@jenstornellbut Vivid Strings is on Kontakt? Did you perhaps mean Native Access to download Kontakt Libraries? The Pulse Downloader is indeed great but it is mainly for libraries that require the Full version of Kontakt. For any Library Tab libraries, Native Access is the only way to go.

@@5ammy13 I wrote another comment to this video why I really don't like Kontakt. Therefor I hope something changes. Kontakt being better, or something else taking its place, maybe Pulse, if they make something similar.
@@jenstornell Would it be possible to copy the comment here? I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Pulse does not have a sampler, so they would need to design one from scratch. Personally, I don't find any issues with Kontakt and it has sort of become an industry standard of sorts. The scripting it allows lets developers make really unique and incredible libraries, Slate+Ash come to mind. I think another such sampler is UVI Falcon/Workstation, but is not as commonly used. Kontakt, fortunately or unfortunately has become the industry standard. In terms of pure orchestral samples, I do think the SINE Player stands a good chance, because of the way it handles mic positions, and how you can download only the mics you want, or even merge the mics you need in a custom mix and delete the original mics, that way you can have a lot of custom mixes to choose from. Really smart when the feature works. I am interested to see what problems you have with Kontakt though.

These are incredible value strings. Just so beautiful. It's on intro for 29$ and note that it's only Violins 1 right now. There were some quirks with the library on release but the developer has been actively taking feedback and has already updated it to 1.3 and they are fantastic now. The 1.3 update includes the ability to move the keyswitches, displays the vibrato selected on the GUI, alt+click for unloading articulations, and finally the release time made available to reduce the release time on the legatos. Also Cellos out by end of next month for 29$ again. I am super pumped about those releases.

I've owned this amazing value of a library from day 1 of its release, and most eagerly ... LOYALLY ... await to snap up the release of the next orchestral module in planned sequence - and so on, and so forth.
But here I am, now, suddenly reading multiple comments about this "1.2 update", yet where do you actually get it? I've poured through the entire Vivid Strings Violin listing back on the Pulse site, scrolled through all of the details and write-up on the whole page, but no mention of any reference to an update?
So, what am I missing? It doesn't seem to have been made clear how this 1.2 update is initiated for those who bought the original version. Or is it so obvious that it's right in front of my nose, and I'm just being a noob? 😂
It's not like this library is linked to Native Access's own auto-updating feature, which is the case for first-party libraries that are downloaded directly through the Native Access portal after dedicated serial number entry/registration. Being a third-party library installation, updates must be manually obtained, from what I understand. ??? 🤷♂️
Any help to shed light on this would be immensely appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hi Simeon, I own Blackhole as well but never had a problem with the presets showing up, untill now for some reason. How did you manage to get them up and running (again) ?
I am on Windows and found that I had unchecked the option in the installer to load the presets and documentation. Once I re-ran the install and checked things I had presets, Hooray!

Is there a reason why you use Kontakt 6 and not Kontakt 7?
Yes, a couple of reasons; workflow and graphics implementation. I am still learning the workflow of Kontakt 7 and eventually will move to it but not just yet. I like the way Kontakt 6 manages the windows, racks, and sections for now.
Also, Kontakt 7 is using a different way of rendering their graphics. I am on Windows and using OBS studio for recordings and livestreams. Normally I can capture a WINDOW SOURCE inside of OBS to display it in a scene but Kontakt 7 (and also a few others, like HALion 7), use a different rendering engine and I have to use OBS Game Capture. This has been hit and miss as sometimes it works and others it depends. So I am hopeful this can improve.
@@PraiseTracks Thanks for that! I'm often positive but I really don't like Kontakt (7 full). I don't know if version 6 helps tho. What does not really work for me is the workflow. Some libraries is in the plugin and some I need to file browse to. It's impossible to uninstall plugins when there is files missing. It's a pain to move to a new computer finding all locations. It crashes quite often. It did not even run on my other computer with AMD processor. The list goes on. Maybe Kontakt 8 or 9 will solve something, hopefully. They have a ton of money, spending all on UA-cam ads. 😅
Yes, workflow is KING. I think the company mergers and such with iZotope and Plugin Alliance in the past year or so has affected things. I am hopeful that those who are working on the Kontakt platform will be open and responsive to user feedback as I have seen some of that already taking place.
When the technology interferes with the creating process then that is where things really break down. I do not want to think about it but just play ;^)

$29 was their intro price for quite a while. Their recently released Vivid Strings Cellos are currently at $29, just use the dropdown menu on the product page where it says "sections": and you will see it. Thanks for watching.
