tail shape of the tail fin. males are always a flame/diamond shape. females always have a fan tail ;) LOVED THE VIDEO!!

Good to know! I have heard that as well but it's not a shape I can easily see.

Will one female krib be ok on a tank with apistos , corries , rummy tetras and a pleco ? Would she yry to bully the apistos . Tia

Depends on the tank size. If there is enough room, you should be fine. The fish will more than likely establish their small territories they defend but I doubt constant bullying would occur.

What are the top dwarf cichlids you can put max in a 30 gallon?

I am unsure of what you mean by this question. Are you asking how many you could put in a 30 gallon aquarium? Or are you asking what species you feel is best for the that small of an aquarium? The answer to the first question, in my opinion, is 5. Many people would say more, but I disagree. But that is also dependent on structure and species. If you have a lot of structure in the aquarium, you could maybe squeeze out one or two more. If it was me and I like African Cichlids, I would just go with 5. For the second, if it was my aquarium, I would get a very, very good canister filtration system rated for a 60 gallon aquarium and get three Kribs and three Labidochromis. After looking at some other cichlids online, a couple of other options would be the Caudopunctatus Cichlid or the Calvus Cichlid. There aren't as many dwarf African Cichlids as many people think. If it was me, I would choose instead the Apistogramma cichlids. Hope this helped!

@@pingin66 kribs were my first cichlids. I just got a new pair now and set them up in a 30gallon tall. I wish I could get the scarlet throat males.

I personally prefer apisto tanks, but kribs are undeniably good to look at.

I actually just prefer South American tanks in general lol
