From what I've seen Cincinnati is way more racist. Everyone here is as nice as can be, white or black. I’m so grateful that I moved out of Mississippi when I graduated college. Had I not I’m not sure where I would be. Even with a college education I just didn’t see myself being successful there. I once took a road trip across the Mississippi delta, and was shocked to see how impoverished many little towns are. I saw many "houses" that were nothing but shacks. And here we are, riches nation on earth, and we can't even provide prefab houses, or solid trailers to house poor families? It makes me sick. I was born and raised in a house like this. I was laughed at in the first grade when asked what I was thankful for just before Thanksgiving. My reply was, I am happy to have a bathroom in my house. My dad built one from scrap lumber from the factory he was working in, on Labor Day. Yes, Mississippi. My family had worked as share croppers and my grandfather was a drunk and no help. My mom and dad said they would not stay in those conditions and worked every hour they could. I never had a baby bed but was always clean and fed. Now I took a few pages from my parents book and was the first in my family to graduate high school. My wife and I made certain that we gave our kids opportunities that we didn’t and they have been successful. These people are taught by their family to get their income from the mailbox all to often. I have asked folks if they needed a job when we had more jobs than workers and was told they would have to take a cut in pay.
So, where you offering unlivable wages? That's why a lot of people can't work, because of low wages..if I understand your scenario correctly, why would they work at a job that would cause them less money coming in? It's called slave labor. Again if I'm understanding you correctly.

There are places just like this in South Carolina. Some people have no indoor plumbing, they either use a bucket or outhouse. They also have outside water pumps or wells. Have you ever been in a house heated by a wood burning furnace? Hot as fuck. But its either that or freeze because kerosene costs money and you need a ride to get it

My family that still lives there told me that it's horrible in the delta.

This poor woman was wrong about one thing; this type of poverty in squalor isn't her fault. This is the fault of the prejudiced state in which she lives. If Mississippians could have dealt with the lasting effects of slavery, racism and disenfranchisement, then this woman would not be in this position of abject poverty. Let it be known, this is no isolated case. Tens of thousands live like this Mississippi. I once took a road trip across the Mississippi delta, and was shocked to see how impoverished many little towns are. I saw many "houses" that were nothing but shacks. And here we are, riches nation on earth, and we can't even provide prefab houses, or solid trailers to house poor families? It makes me sick. This system is run by an evil elite that wants to grind us all underfoot ---and eradicate those they don't deem useful to their system.

I swear if I were able to be of help I would. Financially of course. Our government does this shit too. Texas fares "a bit" better because Texas does not allow a lot of government intervention. Wonder if this is why people like this remain in poverty-stricken conditions? Either way, a dam shame that these citizens cannot receive the help that they really need.

I was born and raised in a house like this. I was laughed at in the first grade when asked what I was thankful for just before Thanksgiving. My reply was, I am happy to have a bathroom in my house. My dad built one from scrap lumber from the factory he was working in, on Labor Day. Yes, Mississippi. My family had worked as share croppers and my grandfather was a drunk and no help. My mom and dad said they would not stay in those conditions and worked every hour they could. I never had a baby bed but was always clean and fed. Now I took a few pages from my parents book and was the first in my family to graduate high school. My wife and I made certain that we gave our kids opportunities that we didn’t and they have been successful. These people are taught by their family to get their income from the mailbox all to often. I have asked folks if they needed a job when we had more jobs than workers and was told they would have to take a cut in pay.
So, where you offering unlivable wages? That's why a lot of people can't work, because of low wages..if I understand your scenario correctly, why would they work at a job that would cause them less money coming in? It's called slave labor. Again if I'm understanding you correctly.

There are places just like this in South Carolina. Some people have no indoor plumbing, they either use a bucket or outhouse. They also have outside water pumps or wells. Have you ever been in a house heated by a wood burning furnace? Hot as fuck. But its either that or freeze because kerosene costs money and you need a ride to get it
