What is wrong with these people. Is pride so assaulting to your ignorance and tolerance? Let people be.

Stopped by the same people whose forefathers stole the land. People in the USA are ignorant of his/her history. A disgrace.

What happened to freedom and individuality? Students and their families pay for the caps and gowns. All students should be able to decorate their caps and gowns how they want like most other schools. Robbing the kid of the moment was incredibly wrong.

Those people who didn’t let him walk on stage should be fired and should be embarrassed and humiliated and disgusted by how they treat Native Americans

If you attend a public school (PUBLIC SCHOOL) and the school receives PUBLIC funds, the school must abide to the tenets of the CONSTITUTION. I support this student wanting to show deferrence to his religion, and that is where the issue arises. The very first amendment to the Constitution prohibits the establishment of a religion by the government.
In addition the constitution protects anyone from being persecuted for their religious beliefs, however, wearing anything representing one's religion, in my opinion, violates Constitutional law in a PUBLIC SCHOOL.. Let me play devil's advocate here. Let's say the school allows the wearing of religious artifacts on their graduate's trencher. So now people who support racism, nazism, fascim etc. will want to display their own symbols as religious artifacts. Would anyone complain? When I was a H.S. freshman, there was something called an assembly where all Classroom Expectations, Rules, Procedures and Consequences were explained in detail, one of those explanations was not to display religious artifacts in the open as it violated the 1st amendment of the Constitution. You could wear anything you want under you clothes, but not outwardly. That explanation went into such detail that it finally was boring to listen. I am sure every public H.S. in the nation has the same rules. In conclusion, I respect this young men wanting to display his religious heritage, but not in a PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL funded by PUBLIC MONEY.

Does he usually wear those really important items on a daily basis? If so, perhaps the school could be a bit more accommodating.
