I’m still tryin’ to farm my personal godroll of what I like to call “Fatebringer But Better” or “Fatebringer 2.0” And that’s Subsistence and Dragonfly Since Subsistence triggers when Dragonfly procks, and since I can put Dragonfly Spec for even more blast radius, groups of ads will be no more, just like Fatebringer...but I can fire continuously instead of having to reload so much. My personal god rolls for this weapon are PvE focused. The first is hitmark hcs, light mag, demolitionist, dragonfly, range masterwork, and firefly spec mod. With this setup you have a very reliable hand canon that destroys trash mobs in 1-2 bullets, refills your grenade energy (yes, even off the dragonfly explosion kills), and the option to instant reload after a grenade throw. The second is hitmark hcs, light mag or a perk that increases mag size, ambitious assassin, rampage, range masterwork, and either backup mag or rampage spec.
I don’t do good with JQK unless i got that stability so my god roll rocks: -Steadyhand HCS -Ricochet rounds -threat detector -snapshot sights -stability masterwork I use it as my swap out from the wishender. Ttk is ridiculously good.
Yes range doesnt mean hardly anything on console. No I dont want to hear about magnetism or aim assist. Having thoroughly played with both range oriented hc and stability oriented hc on console, hands down stability is much much more important. PC is the opposite.

love the disclaimer at the beginning. I've tried telling my buddy that "god roll" is kinda subjective. sure, some rolls are better than others but may require you to play a certain way that you're not use to or can't. if so, then those rolls aren't really good/godly for you. I stick with "find rolls I like and play my way" mentality and at the end of the day enjoy the GAME.
5:05 Going back and forth a bit here and I noticed how the text is not staying stationary and of course the background there is movement. Tinier things like this can really lock in our attention and make it more enjoyable to look at, even if off-hand we might not know why. Kudos and well done.
This is a GREAT PVE HC. Subsistence/Rampage can keep you up and firing through trash mobs for days (I ran through the Mars/Hive lost sector until the boss without having to reload once). Also good is the Demolitionist/Firefly roll which is great for keeping your grenade up and quickly clearing mobs. With the available perks, this is one of the most versatile guns in the game.
Funny thing, I got an old fashioned with feeding frenzy and snapshot sights and it is an unbelievable combo. I was surprised that even without damage perks, the boost for aim and reload helps a crazy amount.
If you are using top tree Dawnblade, you should be grinding for a Demolitionist/ Swashbuckler roll. Add an Icarus mod. Ranged fireball melee kills activate Swashbuckler 5x (1 crit, 2 body even at max Resilience), and you'll get half of your melee charge back for aerial kills. Fireball kills even activate Karnstein Armlets for health bonuses. The number of bonuses constantly activated with my loadout is nuts. You also have the kinetic slot open for Chaperone, Revoker, Huckleberry, Breachlight, and a number of other things you haven't been able to use with Spare Rations. I haven't even tried Bastion yet, but even one of the few downsides of not being able to use a fusion rifle with JQK has now been addressed.
I think the argument against range is that any target inside of the minimum range will get 100% of the benefits of AA, damage, bloom, etc, and anything outside of the max range will loose all those benefits regardless of the range stat. But the difference between min range and max range on these things is like 4 or 5 meters. So specing in to range only makes a difference in those few meters, because if they are closer, you would do just as well with a min range HC, and if they are outside the drop off point of the max range HC, then it doesn't matter that you speced in to range. Meanwhile, stability and handling both matter at every engagement distance. The part I am not clear on is just how wide the range is from where damage drop off (and all the other associated states) starts, to where it reaches its floor. And I don't know if more range expands this zone. For example, if a min range HC has no falloff till say 18m, but then reaches it max falloff by 22m, but the same HC with max range has falloff starting at 22m, will that second one see its max falloff at 26m? In other words, will the min and max range variants behave the same at 18m and 27m? Or will the max range HC still perform better at 27m because increased range extends the length of the falloff zone? Could Fallout please spend like 38 hours in private matches testing to see if bloom is worse on HC outside of their range falloff if he range is lower? I just know how much he loves testing RNG on weapons.....
coolguy did a video on the range stat on handcannons as well and addressed that, the change is minimal and you still get more benefit from other stats like stability and handling, he reccomends one perk (or MW) for range and the rest into other more useful stats, also the podcast you reference is for D1, the foundation of the game has changed since.
I got one of these babies with Fastdraw, Ricochet rounds, Demolitionist and Squashbuckler *+ range MW.* Works really well as an addition to top tree Dawnblade. (Monte Carlo in kinetic slot). I am looking to swap the range MW for handling MW though because this weapon is my backup for when Monte runs dry.

I don't think it was ever intentional on your part, but the format and tone of previous God Roll videos had helped perpetuate the toxic behavior some people spread of "THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD ROLL, SHARD ANYTHING ELSE OR YOU'RE A SCRUB". You can sometimes grab more than 4 frames because if you let go of the acquire after getting a frame for a split second then hold the acquire button again while the page refreshes after getting a previous frame sometimes it stays unlocked to continue getting more, I had 12 in my inventory at once but the timing is a little finicky as long as you hold the button while the page refreshes in my experience is works more often then not
Range MR, Demolitionist, and Rampage. Really fun roll for PvE, builds up grenades super quick on bottom tree Voidwalker, and it feels really spicy with the range MR
i think swashbuckler can also depend on which class you play on. i've been playing dawnblade since beta, til now, and demolitionist and swashbuckler pairs up nicely like spare rations and mindbender. it has a really nice tracing long range melee, which you can tap an enemy twice and clean up with it, consume a grenade to get your ammo filled, and killing on air recharges your melee and your grenade cuz of demolitionist. it's amazing. and pairing it up with fast handling, it really makes it versatile on air,, like sometimes you body someone cuz youre floating on air, no problemo, switch to jqk
I'm happy enough getting my hands on ricochet (yes wish I had high caliber), demolitionist, and swashbuckler. Pretty happy with it. Almost fully masterworked.

My friends were scoffing at my threat detector/snapshot JQK, but that thing got me all the way to 5500 in survival. It has Handling MW, and Sureshot HCS, but all I had options for in column 2 was light mag and extended mag. So close to perfect for me. That being said tho, its a beast. I love it.
Fastdraw or Truesight, Ricochet, Demolitionist, Swashbuckler with a range or handling masterwork for me. So basically a mix of what you suggested. Love the vids, keep it up man!
I got Truesight, RiccR, Demolish, and swashbuckler and Range master work. My current fav hand cannon. Pairs so dope with sniper Izanagi/revoker and siderarms great in PVE and PVP. I do wish I had steady hand instead of Truesight tho
Mine is truesight hcs, ricochet, demolitionist, snapshot and stab mw. Not a perfect godroll, but close. Feels not very flashy, nothing about sick montages, but steady and reliable. And as a warlock main I like demolitionist on my guns in both pve and pvp. As a warlock you have so many things to do with your grenades (mostly blowing your opponents with HHSN which I do a lot since I'm terrible in this game and cant get kills in "fair" ways, especially when opponents also not eager to play "fair")

I think when comparing swashbuckler to rampage, you should remember to mention the rampage spec mod. That kinda gives rampage the edge over swashbuckler in my opinion. I also wonder what damage it would do with surrounded and surrounded spec mod on? Some crucible maps are very small for control / iron banner with 6/6 and you might be able get a fair amount of use out of it.
My favorites are my Swash/Demo and Rampage/Threat. But there is something wrong with the recoil on this gun. It feels like it's missing the fix Bungie applied to handcannons earlier last year. If you compare it to a Kindled Orchid with similar stats, it is extremely noticeable.
Since range was nerfed I’ve been going for slightly different stats on all my hc’s. Higher handling, higher stability and maaaaybe a range masterwork just so I can still have em be a bit stickier (but that’s only if I’m lucky)
Yeah Fall Out almost always suggest maxing range and not lowering the handling, but he never increases handling. It seems to me that handling has more impact on your TTK than range at the moment. At least on pc, since I'm unsure how important the other factors that range affects are on console. Curious as to why that is, but I haven't heard him go into much detail about that yet.
MrAwesome stability isn’t as much of an issue on m&k as it is on controller, which is why I like to get it higher. Handling helps with stow, ready, and ads speed, which can give a SLIGHT edge in your gunfights. But nothing that couldn’t be achieved with a dexterity mod
I snatched a Sure/Fast draw, Lightmag/High cal, Demo/Snapshot with roll with a handling masterwork on my first batch of this gun. Legit have never masterworked a gun so fast in my life.
Anecdotal Evidence here but I love the Jack Queen King so I tested the shit out of it. A max range Jack vs a base range jack is 1 meter,1 METER. Aim assistance between the two was so negligible that while going back and slowing down my recordings I personally noticed no difference between the two, so honestly I think if you get one range based perk then go for the other 3 perks for whatever you want! My favorite jack is a max handling with demolitionist and swashbuckler
Gotta say my personal god roll for JQK3 is demo + SB because i use sunbracers and bottom tree dawnblade my melee recharges VERY quickly so i can have that SB stack at x5 a LOT more than i could have rampage at x3 and the fact that my grenade just gets recharged even quicker without the sunbracers buff just kinda ties the whole thing together
I actually kinda like my fastdraw/ricochet/ambitious assassin/rampage roll. It works both for 6v6 and PVE. At least it works well enough for me. Keep up the good stuff, Papa.
I'd rather go with Steadyhand SAS. +10 to Stability and +10 to Handling. Less screen bounce helps, since JQK3 seems to not use the new handcannon animation(?) Pair that with Ricochet Rounds and a Range MW, and you have 60 Range, 61 Stability, 83 Handling, and one hella solid cannon. Also: Swashbuckler x1 helps artificially extend your range past falloff, lasts longer than Rampage, doesn't take your mod slot, and hits x5 just for slapping an ape.
Steadyhand, RR, Threat Detector, Swash, Range MW. I play on console, and holy cow this has become my favorite hand cannon. AND I can pair it with Revoker!
I mentioned in Aztecross' video for Lumina that I'm waiting for a range masterwork and it seems nobody understands that range is still extremely important for accuracy. Kudos, Papa Fallout, more DestinyTubers need to talk about the importance of range even after the handcannon rework
So I managed to get a Subsistence Dragonfly Jack Queen King 3, with steady hand, flared magwell and a stability masterwork. I absolutely love this roll because I’m moving down ads and I never have to reload pretty much.
I enjoy your videos for the thoroughly detailed information about all the perks range ties to accuracy lol which they shouldn't but they do I feel this is why erentils range hasn't been touched which has it like a sniper not a fusion rifle
look at high impact reserves again cuz it can increase your damage falloff range and all you have to do is bleed your magazine. pairs well with subsistence too so u can keep hir active for longer
On console you want to favor stability for this beast cause the recoil can be rough if you negate any points to it via perks. Go for steadyhand on console in my opinion
I gotta stick with CoolGuy's thoughts on range, his videos show elaborate tests and results. Not to mention, since concentrating on handling/stability rolls, my hand cannon play has been noticeably better. Just me though.
Waking Vigil should be better for an energy slot primary. Opening shot + slide shot. Other than perks gun stats are pretty similar but Waking Vigil has a better sight.
I've been having a LOT of fun lately with my crossfire/flared magwell/threat detector/swashbuckler/stab MW JQK3. I'm not sure I'd call that a god roll per se- I'd probably prefer ricochet and hitmark- but it sure does feel close.
Fallout you also have to consider that there is a huge difference between consoles(controller) and MnK players. Yes stability probably is not that big of a deal for MnK players but for console players a managable recoil and less kick of the weapon probably matters more to actually consitantly land your shots than like 1 metre more range and maybe some minor less aim assist fall off( if there even is aim assist fall off in those ranges where weapons don't have damage fall off).
Haven't watched the full video yet, however my roll is Sure shot/Hitmark sight, ricochet round/light mag, demolitionist and swashbuckler which works so well for my warlock top tree saw blade

i got one with Demolitionist and Dragonfly plus very good overall stats. Very fun gun for casual PVE. It's like the weapon of Chromatic Fire. Wouldn't use it for serious play tho, especially pvp (console).

I have the exact roll for the second godroll with subsistence + swashbuckler, but I've only been using it on pve. Will have to try it out in crucible now since papa fallout suggested it. One question to controller/console peeps, is it true the recoil of JQK3 (and I heard Old Fashioned too) feels like pre HC recoil changes?
Range is ties to the theory if the group, the size of the group will. Increase or decrease in direct proportion to the range. The further away and more inaccurate you are the wider the spread.

you know at this point if a video came out saying that while range is TIED to accuracy and stickiness but that LESS range means more accuracy up close then I wouldn't be surprised at all
I have sure shot, high calibur rounds, threat detector and swashbuckler w/ icarus grip....love it but feel indent aim well with it and was y I never used the energy gun from forsaken they have pretty much same recoil. *CONSOLE USER* now Ik this isn’t a PVP god roll but am I the only one that thinks the steadyhand, ricochet rounds, demolitionist, dragonfly with stability masterwork and with a dragonfly spec would b BonKErZ for pve? I have this roll but with a reload masterwork and being a console user and having basically ONLY used hand cannons since D1 (even when they killed hc’s) I can say this is probly the most fun HC since the ace of spades release. Theres nothing like getting only ONE kill having that big explosion kill like 3-4 adds then u get like 80% of ur grenade energy back. Also since range got reworked with Hc’s if ur on console U MUST SPEC FOR STABILITY (mostly) ON HC’s. Ive done countless tests were id max range with a hc and try and land shots then id do the same with stability and EVERY time there was more stability the Hc felt worlds better. Dont let this roll leave u if u get it. I farmed OVER 52,200(yes u read that correctly) fractiline to try and get this roll and havent gotten it yet. Good thing theres 3 more weeks i can dump all that over and over again..... *CONSOLE USER*

The aim assist is actually 96, because every sight available for the JQK3 adds +5 AA.

I got one of these babies with Fastdraw, Ricochet rounds, Demolitionist and Squashbuckler *+ range MW.* Works really well as an addition to top tree Dawnblade. (Monte Carlo in kinetic slot). I am looking to swap the range MW for handling MW though because this weapon is my backup for when Monte runs dry.
Thank you for placing that disclaimer at the start of the video. I don't think it was ever intentional on your part, but the format and tone of previous God Roll videos had helped perpetuate the toxic behavior some people spread of "THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD ROLL, SHARD ANYTHING ELSE OR YOU'RE A SCRUB".

You can sometimes grab more than 4 frames because if you let go of the acquire after getting a frame for a split second then hold the acquire button again while the page refreshes after getting a previous frame sometimes it stays unlocked to continue getting more, I had 12 in my inventory at once but the timing is a little finicky as long as you hold the button while the page refreshes in my experience is works more often then not

Range MR, Demolitionist, and Rampage. Really fun roll for PvE, builds up grenades super quick on bottom tree Voidwalker, and it feels really spicy with the range MR

i think swashbuckler can also depend on which class you play on. i've been playing dawnblade since beta, til now, and demolitionist and swashbuckler pairs up nicely like spare rations and mindbender. it has a really nice tracing long range melee, which you can tap an enemy twice and clean up with it, consume a grenade to get your ammo filled, and killing on air recharges your melee and your grenade cuz of demolitionist. it's amazing. and pairing it up with fast handling, it really makes it versatile on air,, like sometimes you body someone cuz youre floating on air, no problemo, switch to jqk
I'm happy enough getting my hands on ricochet (yes wish I had high caliber), demolitionist, and swashbuckler. Pretty happy with it. Almost fully masterworked.

My friends were scoffing at my threat detector/snapshot JQK, but that thing got me all the way to 5500 in survival. It has Handling MW, and Sureshot HCS, but all I had options for in column 2 was light mag and extended mag. So close to perfect for me. That being said tho, its a beast. I love it.

I got Truesight, RiccR, Demolish, and swashbuckler and Range master work. My current fav hand cannon. Pairs so dope with sniper Izanagi/revoker and siderarms great in PVE and PVP. I do wish I had steady hand instead of Truesight tho
Mine is truesight hcs, ricochet, demolitionist, snapshot and stab mw. Not a perfect godroll, but close. Feels not very flashy, nothing about sick montages, but steady and reliable. And as a warlock main I like demolitionist on my guns in both pve and pvp. As a warlock you have so many things to do with your grenades (mostly blowing your opponents with HHSN which I do a lot since I'm terrible in this game and cant get kills in "fair" ways, especially when opponents also not eager to play "fair")

I think when comparing swashbuckler to rampage, you should remember to mention the rampage spec mod. That kinda gives rampage the edge over swashbuckler in my opinion.
I also wonder what damage it would do with surrounded and surrounded spec mod on? Some crucible maps are very small for control / iron banner with 6/6 and you might be able get a fair amount of use out of it.

My favorites are my Swash/Demo and Rampage/Threat. But there is something wrong with the recoil on this gun. It feels like it's missing the fix Bungie applied to handcannons earlier last year. If you compare it to a Kindled Orchid with similar stats, it is extremely noticeable.
Since range was nerfed I’ve been going for slightly different stats on all my hc’s. Higher handling, higher stability and maaaaybe a range masterwork just so I can still have em be a bit stickier (but that’s only if I’m lucky)
Yeah Fall Out almost always suggest maxing range and not lowering the handling, but he never increases handling.
It seems to me that handling has more impact on your TTK than range at the moment. At least on pc, since I'm unsure how important the other factors that range affects are on console.
Curious as to why that is, but I haven't heard him go into much detail about that yet.
MrAwesome stability isn’t as much of an issue on m&k as it is on controller, which is why I like to get it higher. Handling helps with stow, ready, and ads speed, which can give a SLIGHT edge in your gunfights. But nothing that couldn’t be achieved with a dexterity mod
I snatched a Sure/Fast draw, Lightmag/High cal, Demo/Snapshot with roll with a handling masterwork on my first batch of this gun. Legit have never masterworked a gun so fast in my life.
Anecdotal Evidence here but I love the Jack Queen King so I tested the shit out of it.
A max range Jack vs a base range jack is 1 meter,1 METER.
Aim assistance between the two was so negligible that while going back and slowing down my recordings I personally noticed no difference between the two, so honestly I think if you get one range based perk then go for the other 3 perks for whatever you want!
My favorite jack is a max handling with demolitionist and swashbuckler
Gotta say my personal god roll for JQK3 is demo + SB
because i use sunbracers and bottom tree dawnblade my melee recharges VERY quickly so i can have that SB stack at x5 a LOT more than i could have rampage at x3
and the fact that my grenade just gets recharged even quicker without the sunbracers buff just kinda ties the whole thing together

I actually kinda like my fastdraw/ricochet/ambitious assassin/rampage roll. It works both for 6v6 and PVE. At least it works well enough for me. Keep up the good stuff, Papa.
I'd rather go with Steadyhand SAS. +10 to Stability and +10 to Handling. Less screen bounce helps, since JQK3 seems to not use the new handcannon animation(?)
Pair that with Ricochet Rounds and a Range MW, and you have 60 Range, 61 Stability, 83 Handling, and one hella solid cannon.
Also: Swashbuckler x1 helps artificially extend your range past falloff, lasts longer than Rampage, doesn't take your mod slot, and hits x5 just for slapping an ape.
Steadyhand, RR, Threat Detector, Swash, Range MW. I play on console, and holy cow this has become my favorite hand cannon. AND I can pair it with Revoker!
I mentioned in Aztecross' video for Lumina that I'm waiting for a range masterwork and it seems nobody understands that range is still extremely important for accuracy. Kudos, Papa Fallout, more DestinyTubers need to talk about the importance of range even after the handcannon rework
So I managed to get a Subsistence Dragonfly Jack Queen King 3, with steady hand, flared magwell and a stability masterwork. I absolutely love this roll because I’m moving down ads and I never have to reload pretty much.

I enjoy your videos for the thoroughly detailed information about all the perks range ties to accuracy lol which they shouldn't but they do I feel this is why erentils range hasn't been touched which has it like a sniper not a fusion rifle
Got my high cal/threat/snapshot roll last week. It feels crazy snappy.
Demolitionist + Dragonfly is good for PvE since the explosion kills count for the proc to get grenade energy.
look at high impact reserves again cuz it can increase your damage falloff range and all you have to do is bleed your magazine. pairs well with subsistence too so u can keep hir active for longer
Tried one of those. Sharded it. Playing the balancing game with the subsistence just wasn't fun.
On console you want to favor stability for this beast cause the recoil can be rough if you negate any points to it via perks.
Go for steadyhand on console in my opinion
Should just take your console upstairs to your bathroom, fill up your bathtub with water, climb in, and toss your console right in there.

I got a Crossfire, High Cal, Demo, Snapshot with range MW a few weeks back that I can't stop using. Paired with Bastion and had a blast during IB.
I gotta stick with CoolGuy's thoughts on range, his videos show elaborate tests and results. Not to mention, since concentrating on handling/stability rolls, my hand cannon play has been noticeably better. Just me though.

Waking Vigil should be better for an energy slot primary. Opening shot + slide shot. Other than perks gun stats are pretty similar but Waking Vigil has a better sight.

I use Dragofly in Control playlist n PvE. Its also hard because teammates run away from the first control point instead of getting more points.
A godroll for me (and probably for other more casual players) would be demolitionist and dragonfly. Just gives the handcannon more *umph* to it
I've been having a LOT of fun lately with my crossfire/flared magwell/threat detector/swashbuckler/stab MW JQK3. I'm not sure I'd call that a god roll per se- I'd probably prefer ricochet and hitmark- but it sure does feel close.
Fallout you also have to consider that there is a huge difference between consoles(controller) and MnK players. Yes stability probably is not that big of a deal for MnK players but for console players a managable recoil and less kick of the weapon probably matters more to actually consitantly land your shots than like 1 metre more range and maybe some minor less aim assist fall off( if there even is aim assist fall off in those ranges where weapons don't have damage fall off).

i got one with Demolitionist and Dragonfly plus very good overall stats. Very fun gun for casual PVE. It's like the weapon of Chromatic Fire. Wouldn't use it for serious play tho, especially pvp (console).

I got one with almost max handling, auto loading and snap shot. I used it with my chaperone and it was a lot of fun.
After farming for 4 hours I got (fastdraw HCS, high cal rounds, demolistionist, snapshot, and a handling masterwork)

Range is ties to the theory if the group, the size of the group will. Increase or decrease in direct proportion to the range. The further away and more inaccurate you are the wider the spread.
I got a demolishionist + swatchbuckler for PVE and its sweet I forgot these could roll with firefly Im quite interested to see how good will be firefly+demolishionist
you know at this point if a video came out saying that while range is TIED to accuracy and stickiness but that LESS range means more accuracy up close then I wouldn't be surprised at all
Hey Fallout what is the difference between High Caliber rounds versus armor piercing rounds and which is better?
i got mine with demolitionist and rampage, absolutely insane in both pve and pvp. you really dont need snapshot since this hc has almost max handling.
I have sure shot, high calibur rounds, threat detector and swashbuckler w/ icarus grip....love it but feel indent aim well with it and was y I never used the energy gun from forsaken they have pretty much same recoil. But I have gotten used to it a d like it alot. Lobbies have been super laggy lately so I play. Couple games and roll out. Max range is at68
Have you tried opening shot and Slideshot perks together on a hc? you should try them.
*CONSOLE USER* now Ik this isn’t a PVP god roll but am I the only one that thinks the steadyhand, ricochet rounds, demolitionist, dragonfly with stability masterwork and with a dragonfly spec would b BonKErZ for pve? I have this roll but with a reload masterwork and being a console user and having basically ONLY used hand cannons since D1 (even when they killed hc’s) I can say this is probly the most fun HC since the ace of spades release. Theres nothing like getting only ONE kill having that big explosion kill like 3-4 adds then u get like 80% of ur grenade energy back. Also since range got reworked with Hc’s if ur on console U MUST SPEC FOR STABILITY (mostly) ON HC’s. Ive done countless tests were id max range with a hc and try and land shots then id do the same with stability and EVERY time there was more stability the Hc felt worlds better. Dont let this roll leave u if u get it. I farmed OVER 52,200(yes u read that correctly) fractiline to try and get this roll and havent gotten it yet. Good thing theres 3 more weeks i can dump all that over and over again..... *CONSOLE USER*
He didnt mention it i think, but demolitionist can prock of dragonfly kills, while its NOT good in pvp, in pve it can be amazing for add clear since u also get that nade fast and when u thow it, it realods the gun
