Red Hot Applegate Lake 2021: Smallmouth/Trout

Fishing Applegate Lake, Oregon, during our recent heat wave. As long as you can tolerate the heat and be flexible in what you're willing to catch, there are plenty of fish available.

If you had 2 lures to use for bass at that lake, what would they be?

My suggestions would be a pink Berkley Power Nymph on a 1/32 jighead. Second, would be a 2" motor oil curl tail on a 1/16 jighead. Note: I focus on numbers, not size, so I go through a bunch of little fish mixed in with occasional larger fish. I'm also no purist. I tip the aforementioned jigs with an inch or two of nightcrawler and a bit of Pro Cure Super Gel Crawfish scent. Hope that helps!
