It's not coming from a place of ill will, it's more so of the fact that trans people revealing their identities right at the beginning is just not safe (especially if they're a trans women or if the partner is a cis male). I definitely think it should happen at some point, but it should never be in person and never in the first convo because you never know how people will react. Trans people have to get a feel of the person and their views before revealing that part of themself.

Manuel's coming to America and he isn't familiar with Ashley’s main identity and profession? How does that even happen? It's hard to believe he was entirely oblivious to this before arriving. If anything, this shows a lack of communication that makes me wonder about their long-term compatibility. Also, Ashley’s panic attack scene felt so dramatized, didn't it? While it’s entirely plausible that Ashley was genuinely anxious, the emphasis on it makes me wonder how much it was genuine concern and how much is for the cameras. The water jug situation and her freak out over not seeing Manuel immediately were way over the top. Also, Manuel's immediate aversion to her pets and their living arrangements seem like things they would’ve discussed beforehand! Nikki renaming Igor to "Justin" is questionable. If Igor is okay with it, sure, but if not, that's a red flag. It's weird how much emphasis is put on names, with the comparison to Justin Timberlake and all. But then there's the major concern of Igor’s struggle with Nikki's identity and the potential risks of her being in a country not accepting of the trans community. They seem to be taking big risks without apparent thought to the consequences. Rob’s airport dance was pure second-hand embarrassment, but the elevator scene felt like manufactured drama to me. And the whole living situation - it feels like they're entirely from two different worlds, and not just geographically. How have they not discussed their potential living situation before?

I live in Inglewood, but I'm in a much higher tax bracket than Rob. You have your parts, but where I live is nice and residential. As someone who has my dog sleep on the bed with me...This has ALWAYS been a non negotiable. Ive left relationships with people who didnt allow dogs on the bed. Sorry not sorry. lol I like my dogs close to me. Its a security blanket and a huge sense of comfort to me. The relationship wont work if I cant have that. So I commend Ashley for standing her ground and not pushing her dog off to the floor. I personally think bringing a new person into the picture and starting to treat your dog different causes resentment between the person and your pet. And opens the potential for your pet to bite that person because they feel pushed aside.

to give some context as someone from an eastern european country (in my experience), it’s not so much "not accepting", it’s more a lot of lack of understanding combined with people don’t talk about it. Things like LGBTQ+, are known and unfortunately they are behind in their perception of LGBTQ+. I’m really lucky my family was accepting of me, and my friends from there too. They do ask a lot of blunt straightforward questions that can come off offensive but it’s with good intention of wanting to know and understand. it’s a big jump for a lot of people in that it’s not a very socially common thing to talk about things related to sexuality/gender. the people that go out and hurt people are the farther « nationalist » extreme orthodox people usually, and they choose to not try and understand. They just feed into the propaganda pushed by the church or govt. But the people are not the govt and thankfully that’s changing ☺️ this is just my experience and understanding tho and it’s valid if nikki or anyone else experienced something different. Just trying to shed some perspective ☺️

I have 1 huge 100 lb pit mastiff mix. biggest freaking snoring drooling bed hog. Ick! But that chunk of hunk saved my life...me: kidney+ liver failure=sepsis & dying..doggy: head butted me to keep me concious, kept his paws over my arms and would not leave my side til BF took me to ER..all this happened in hours! I was in the hosp for a week. Doggy refused to eat &kept giving the bf the stink eye ( hahaha good doggy) & he was bf's dog originally! Doggy is my bestie & can have the whole bed if wants it...
Inglewood is in the hood but it's heavily populated with seniors and some lower income African Americans and is pretty chill and generally quiet. It's nestled between LAX (airport) and Baldwin Hills ( affluent African American Doctors/lawyers/middle class) so I don't know why he's making her feel like she can't go outside. It's also where Andrea and Lamar from love after lockup live. Andrea thought it was in the hood too because she was comparing it to her Mormon neighborhood. If anything she's probably going to be bored because there's nothing to do there. When I was growing up there was a Racetrack and a Concert venue there so it was a little more exciting. The only thing there now is the DMV, a few great restaurants and some cool clothing stores but it's like strip mall tiny businesses. She's about 20 minutes from Hollywood and the Beach and Beverly Hills and people her age.

It's not coming from a place of ill will, it's more so of the fact that trans people revealing their identities right at the beginning is just not safe (especially if they're a trans women or if the partner is a cis male). I definitely think it should happen at some point, but it should never be in person and never in the first convo because you never know how people will react. Trans people have to get a feel of the person and their views before revealing that part of themself.

Manuel's coming to America and he isn't familiar with Ashley’s main identity and profession? How does that even happen? It's hard to believe he was entirely oblivious to this before arriving. If anything, this shows a lack of communication that makes me wonder about their long-term compatibility.
Also, Ashley’s panic attack scene felt so dramatized, didn't it? While it’s entirely plausible that Ashley was genuinely anxious, the emphasis on it makes me wonder how much it was genuine concern and how much is for the cameras. The water jug situation and her freak out over not seeing Manuel immediately were way over the top. Also, Manuel's immediate aversion to her pets and their living arrangements seem like things they would’ve discussed beforehand!
Nikki renaming Igor to "Justin" is questionable. If Igor is okay with it, sure, but if not, that's a red flag. It's weird how much emphasis is put on names, with the comparison to Justin Timberlake and all. But then there's the major concern of Igor’s struggle with Nikki's identity and the potential risks of her being in a country not accepting of the trans community. They seem to be taking big risks without apparent thought to the consequences.
Rob’s airport dance was pure second-hand embarrassment, but the elevator scene felt like manufactured drama to me. And the whole living situation - it feels like they're entirely from two different worlds, and not just geographically. How have they not discussed their potential living situation before?
He wasn't 100% oblivious but I think she just didn't go into that much detail about it and probably played it down. I just find it annoying that she was willing to do all that paperwork and pay the money to bring him here in hopes he'd just accept it when she knew it'd be a problem. It's very stupid and I think it's even manipulative truthfully.

As someone who has my dog sleep on the bed with me...This has ALWAYS been a non negotiable. Ive left relationships with people who didnt allow dogs on the bed. Sorry not sorry. lol I like my dogs close to me. Its a security blanket and a huge sense of comfort to me. The relationship wont work if I cant have that. So I commend Ashley for standing her ground and not pushing her dog off to the floor. I personally think bringing a new person into the picture and starting to treat your dog different causes resentment between the person and your pet. And opens the potential for your pet to bite that person because they feel pushed aside.

to give some context as someone from an eastern european country (in my experience), it’s not so much "not accepting", it’s more a lot of lack of understanding combined with people don’t talk about it. Things like LGBTQ+, are known and unfortunately they are behind in their perception of LGBTQ+. I’m really lucky my family was accepting of me, and my friends from there too. They do ask a lot of blunt straightforward questions that can come off offensive but it’s with good intention of wanting to know and understand. it’s a big jump for a lot of people in that it’s not a very socially common thing to talk about things related to sexuality/gender. the people that go out and hurt people are the farther « nationalist » extreme orthodox people usually, and they choose to not try and understand. They just feed into the propaganda pushed by the church or govt. But the people are not the govt and thankfully that’s changing ☺️ this is just my experience and understanding tho and it’s valid if nikki or anyone else experienced something different. Just trying to shed some perspective ☺️

But that chunk of hunk saved my life...me: kidney+ liver failure=sepsis & dying..doggy: head butted me to keep me concious, kept his paws over my arms and would not leave my side til BF took me to ER..all this happened in hours! I was in the hosp for a week. Doggy refused to eat &kept giving the bf the stink eye ( hahaha good doggy) & he was bf's dog originally! Doggy is my bestie & can have the whole bed if wants it...

Inglewood is in the hood but it's heavily populated with seniors and some lower income African Americans and is pretty chill and generally quiet. It's nestled between LAX (airport) and Baldwin Hills ( affluent African American Doctors/lawyers/middle class) so I don't know why he's making her feel like she can't go outside. It's also where Andrea and Lamar from love after lockup live. Andrea thought it was in the hood too because she was comparing it to her Mormon neighborhood. If anything she's probably going to be bored because there's nothing to do there. When I was growing up there was a Racetrack and a Concert venue there so it was a little more exciting. The only thing there now is the DMV, a few great restaurants and some cool clothing stores but it's like strip mall tiny businesses. She's about 20 minutes from Hollywood and the Beach and Beverly Hills and people her age.
