Lots of stories about guys doing this and failing..basically ruining what they have worked for their whole lives. Be smart, think for yourself and not rely on vloggers just trying to make money.
Everything is spot on in this video. You said Janet told you wherever you go she will follow. I got together with my Cambodian girlfriend during covid and when trying to find a country that wasn't locked down so we could meet, she told me, "wherever you go I will follow." Total Bliss!
This video is so true. Being back in the USA for the holidays has made me realize what a great life I have in the Philippines. It has made me realize my kids and grandkids have their own busy life. I can’t wait to get back to the Philippines this trip was just to long. Thanks Mike.
I gave up on American women over 20 years ago. 😂 My first time in the Philippines was in 1986. Now retired USNavy. Double-Dipped & worked for Government. Retired in 2018 with full pension & medical. If you’re single, make friends in your neighborhood, friends of friends. They will help you when it comes to finding a good friend, gf or wife. Being married now for 15 years to a Filipino, it has changed my life to the better. We are 100% happy & living a good life 💞.
You are a more tolerant man than me, Mike! I was born in Washington, DC. Living in a family with an older sister in television and parents entrenched in a political environment, I was sent to etiquette classes at the age of 5. I was raised to be polite and respectful to women. Fortunately for me, my etiquette instructor was also my name-sake, (Aunt) Marjabelle Bryant (aka, Marjabelle Young Stewart). She and my mother were best friends for the better part of 2 decades, and she would have boxed my ears if I failed to open a door for any female, or hold the door for any person behind me passing through the same door that I was going through. It's called "manners" and unfortunately Western culture has adopted a Feminist viewpoint that being courteous or polite to a female is either misogynistic or chauvinist! So, in the early 2000's prior to my first trip to the Philippines, I had a first date with a woman I met on an online website. We had chatted for only 1 or 2 days before she asked me when I was going to ask her out to meet in real life. So, I scheduled the date for the next day, a Friday evening. Her feminists' views had never been an issue, as she seemed more intent on dating, or rather, getting out of the house! I met her at the door, she invited me in while she completed her preparations for the date. As we were about to depart, she popped a kiss on me, and it was quite pleasant and promising. Yet there was something a sensed about her personality that I was unable to pick up over our chats on the internet and a couple of brief phone calls the night before and the day of our date. We walked to the car, I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, so it was not the easiest vehicle to enter or exit gracefully. I bent over to open the door, and low & behold I heard those infamous, sharply spoken words, "OH NO, I am very capable of opening my own door, thank you very much!" I had the electronic key fob in my hand, I slid my thumb to lock the doors. I stood up, walked around the car as she fumbled with the door handle trying to open the passenger door. I clicked the key fob to unlock the driver's side door, opened the door, put the key in the ignition, started the car.... put it in "Drive" and proceeded to drive away. Looking in the rearview mirror I saw her befuddled face, then I saw the all too familiar FINGER saluting me! Needless to say, I never heard from her again, except for a few unfavorable text messages on my phone. Why am I leaving the U.S. for the Philippines? Simply put, since 2007, I have received only one very minor insult from a Filipina, and that was a stranger while traveling on the monorail in Manila. Filipinos, Filipino Culture and the affordability of everything in the Philippines makes ANY non-Western amenity lacking in the Philippines a simple inconvenience compared to the stupid and complex issues facing most in the United States and other Western cultures. You can't change an entire culture by yourself. But for every individual problem you encounter in a foreign country, there is almost always a solution or a hack you can use to fix it or at least make it better!
For a western gentleman that had to attend etiquette classes what do you think/feel when you see Filipino culture urinating in public, the noise they make when eating, there hygiene issues, over all filth/dirt that they most of the culture thinks is normal, ignorant attitude???? So your story was quite bizarre & a contradiction to your up bringing???
I remember my first day at University of Montana, the "Little Berkley" of Montana. This was 1984. It was very windy and I noticed a woman struggling with a large box as she headed to the Student Union Building. I opened the door and held it so the wind would not bang it against her. She said "I am liberated, I open my own doors." So I went in first and let her figure out how to hold the door in the wind while entering the facility. After she entered, I saw her head over to the "Women Resource Center." Welcome to the modern world, Country Boy, I thought. It is funny how I remember that little incident from over 40 years.
I think you hit the nail right on the head Mike. There are many problems here, and in the west in general. Thanks for the encouragement! Beautiful scenery btw!
This video reflects my reasons perfectly and I am working on my exit from America strategy. I've already given up on American women because it just simply isn't worth the trouble to wade thru their feminist emotional mind field only to have to deal with their unresolved relationship issues. American women have lost their value as women to me. I just simply want a woman that enjoys being a woman with a her man. And yep, quality of life is the other major issue for me too. I can afford to retire in America, I'm just not going to enjoy it or be very safe. I don't hate my country, I'm just tired of all of the self-inflicted problems we have as Americans.
I feel the same way even as a veteran and still work I don’t think I will make it when I retire 8 years from now. As soon I hit the retirement age I AM OUT on my way to Philippine
Mike, once again, you’re 100% spot on! Just like your dating in the U.S. video. My Wife (Fiancée) and I woke up at 2am, and watched this video together. She was asking me if what you talked about was true, since a Filipina would NEVER behave like these U.S. women! We had a good discussion about it, and it helped put another point in the win column for us! Over the past few months she’s also become a big fan of your channel, and she’s as eager to meet you and Janet as I am! Mabuhay and much happiness to you and your family ❤️🌴
Mike… thank you so much for your videos. Your content helped me decide to take a trip to the Phillipines in 2023 and see a different world that is available. You speak with so much wisdom, very informative and entertaining. I love that you get to the point and also your story telling. After living in Mexico and visiting family several times, visiting Colombia and living here in the U.S., the Phillipines won me over and decided to make it my goal to retire there. Keep it up Mike. You are touching people’s hearts and making a difference in the minds of many. Hope to meet you one day and shake your hand and buy you a cup of coffee personally. We appreciate your time and hard work you put in to those videos.
I am 53, live in Texas, own a nice house, have all my teeth and hair, I am fit and workout daily, I am financially stable and have my life in order. I got divorced 3 years ago (her idea) and have not been on a date since my divorce, it is so hard to meet women now a days. I have tried online dating in the US and have come up empty and been unsuccessful, and just felt worse about my situation the more I talk to these women. I need to just sell everything and move to Asia. The only thing stopping me is I want to have a large enough nest egg to make it till social security kicks in. This is really the first time in my life I feel like I have my life figured out…. Except I am all alone lol.
Listen to me please. Do not sell your house just go visit and if you decide to move there then put your house under a good management company for passive income. Thank me later
I got lucky Mike, I had a wonderful American wife who did none of the stated shenanigans in your video. She was my best friend in life. Sadly she passed away 3 years ago and I have NO desire to date in my age bracket with all of the baggage that comes along with it. Looking forward to testing the waters in Philippines starting THIS Friday. Yes, there are many younger pretty girls available but once that "desire" factor wears off (it will) I need to have a connection. THANKS for your insights. I regularly watch you, Old dog and fly me to the Philippines. You all inspire. Not sure if I will make it to Dumaguete, but if I do, hope to be able to buy you dinner. I bought some top notch chocolates and will save some for Janet! If you get to Cebu anytime soon, please reach out.
Great story about her getting in the truck. I feel that in so many cases it’s not even worth making an effort to date here in North America. I just can’t be bothered. I’m much happier with Pier. No drama and smooth sailing. 😊 still watching. Happy New Year Mike and Janet! J
I’ve never been to the Philippines but I’ve lived in Mira mesa which is in San Diego and has a large population of people from the Philippines. When I was working in the department stores near that area the Filipina women always dressed so nice and some even sexy with their high heel wedges, mini floral dresses, long beautiful hair and wore make up that highlighted their exotic features. Their attitude was always very friendly and super happy. When they were with their husbands, they always held hands and showed a lot of affection towards each other. You could tell how appreciative the Filipina woman was of her hard working man and how she admired him. And you could tell how satisfied and proud the husband was of his beautiful Filipina wife. So I can imagine how it must be to live in the Philippines and see how the women dress everyday compared to the typical western look here in the USA which a lot of women dress up with little effort to look good.
Being from Los Angeles, I was treated well. You can get a white, black, latina, Japanese, Thai, Filipina, anything you want is there. I dated 35 and up. I have the same luck here in the Philippines. I'm 56, and have had a different experience. Never been denied sex.
I have always paid for everything with women, never regretted it with the exception of support after 2 divorces. Both got bored, cheated, and thought they could do better with the guys they cheated with. Both failed miserably with their choices. I have studied and researched the Philippines for the past 3.5 years and made my first 30 day trip last August and will be returning this March for another 30 day visit. $$ is no problem for me, here in the USA or Philippines, but the vibe is different there. A good man is appreciated and respected there, unlike here in the USA where he is: denigrated - made to look stupid by the media - blamed for all the problems - and despised just for being a traditional man. Looking forward to arriving again soon for more exploring!
I'm in awe, it was raw and honest, I loved it. I follow you almost religiously, and I like the majority of you tskes, but this one was awesome. Spot on, todays American weman are not the weman of my 20s or 30s, needy, woke, and taught the ideas that yheir the center of any relationship. Again great blog...
It not just men leaving the US, it's other countries as well. The dating mentality is alive and well in Australia. I am glad to find my filipina here in Australia. We are planning to settle in the Philippines in the next 5 years. It's toxic here
I am a Filipina, and I admire your deep appreciation for the Philippines and most especially to your wife and her family. You are one sure of a very lucky and blessed guy to come to the Philippines! Thank you so much and GOD bless you! I am a follower of your video!
I have never slept on the couch. I always said "If your too annoyed/upset to sleep next to me. YOU go sleep on the couch" . Any time she refused to cook dinner I said " Since Im paying the bills, if you cant cook for me you cant cook for yourself" Im not making this up. I never take crap from a woman ever.
I'm looking forward to retiring in the Philippines after my exploratory trip early next year. I like all the "greenery" at that place where you are making this video--what's the name of it?
Mike - I had a similar experience with a woman whilst entering the local bank. We arrived at the door at the same time and being a gentleman I reached out for the door opened it and nodded for her to go first. Big Mistake. She firmly stated ''Did you open the door for me because I am a woman.... I can do that for myself ". It was one of those moments that I had no answer for ....but today I would say " No Ma'am, I opened it for you because I am a gentleman". Feminists!
As a 48 year old man about to turn 49 in a few weeks and exactly 7 1/2 years away from retirement. My exit plan from the US to the Philippines cant get here fast enough. 8 years ago was when i took my first trip there and it changed me forever. My advice to all single men out there is to boycott western women and travel abroad. You will all be much happier.
Very beautiful , inspiring background to us in this wintery snowy Scandinavia.. dear blogger ..I was born/ raised in Phils. this reminds my life childhood hills/mountain, palm trees as well mango trees in north Cebu . My only son of 33 is straight gone University , stable job not interested/ want a relationship with a woman in his private life because women (his sisters as well here) are also demanding things should be more equal spec household chores and children. Because women most of them work as I did . Good tips, video never been to those places youve said. Brothers work in the USA as OFW s I can relate what youve said facts and figures a retiree here too.
Hi Mike. You address a topic that I also noticed in Germany. It doesn't seem to be as extreme as in the States, but it is still noticeable. It certainly has a lot to do with feminism, but not only. If you go back to the Stone Age you can see that the classic distribution of roles made sense. The man was a hunter-gatherer, with a better sense of direction and generally more strength. The woman was the guardian of the fire, which was never allowed to go out. She was created to feed and raise children. This is still in our genes today. Feminism is the attempt to take on all men's roles. It just doesn't work, or only partially. Whatever the case, there is nothing we can do about it other than emigrate to a country where this distribution of roles is still somewhat valid. Last but not least, sorry for my mistakes in English. I'm German. Greetings from Davao, George
Hello Mike you just got right in this video I live in Vegas USA is not the same before I live in California move to Vegas 7 years ago but life here is not the same crime robbery car accidents 5to6 people die every day in 2 years I’m moving to Davao Del Sur..you 2guys looking very happy.. Happy New Year 🎉🎉
Hello Mike. Glad to see that you and Janet are starting your new year with a mountain vacation. Thank you for the awesome vid and the great information on the Philippine women, my plans are to arrive around 02/15/2024 to check the Phillipines for retirement. Thank you Mike.
Also what did Janet look like before you came around, how did she dress? I’m sure not very well. Anyone one can get Older men with money here, but geez what young girl wants one? Only the young girls in the Philippines, right?
Hi MIKE , nice to see your videos and good topic. I have friends in both white collar and blue collar fields. Over XMAS and NEW years , I received more calls from most of my blue collar friends and just a few others. I have NOT dated in a while due to everything you mentioned here. Most women would ask me what kind of car I drove and how much money I earned per year. They also would notice your watch , looking for an expensive one . We can buy so mant knockoff ROLEX or other watches here , its not even funny that these women had no idea if they were real or not. I don t wear a watch any more because I break them as I work on my truck or car or other stuff , even though I am retired. Most of my friends who are plumbers or electricians earn MORE than most white collar guys. Well I just want to wish you and JANET and her son continued health and happiness this year and many more. GOD BLESS CIAO
My husband from CA happily living here in Philippines 6 years and counting. He came here to visit 1st for 45 days then went back to usa and sell everything
Be cause US women have gone Woke and men my age 60 divorced and retired military and my second career as a global software senior manager allows me to save and have a nice large portfolio and I can get a life time visa as a former U.S. military member Visa Expanded Courtesy. This non-immigrant visa is specifically for people with prior service in the military. I found the application process cheap and easy - it cost me $1,400 to apply for the visa from the Philippine Retirement Authority
@@commonsenseisntcommon1776 I visit Pattaya twice a year. It is a big city for sure. Jomtien Beach area south of Pattaya is nice. Lots of retired military there. Nice Gym in that area if you lift or work out. Muscle Factory Short BAHT bus ride to central mall market area. BOLT ( Thai Uber) cheap and efficient to get around. Condos cheap to rent. A dime a dozen. New and nice Beach area there in Jomtien is quiet
Mike, when she told you she could open the truck door herself, then you should have pressed down the lock and gently closed the door in front of her, then walked around to the driver's side, got in, and driven away (leaving her standing there)!
When she would of told me that as I opened the door I would of said are you wearing that? And got her to changed and as soon as she went in to change she hear the tires squealing and laying rubber 😂
The men who are retirement age are from a bygone era. They are still thinking they want something that no longer exists. Sure men have changed, but it is women who still think they can command a lot more than they are actually worth. The standards and expectations that must be met by men now have left most bitter and angry. I know I felt that way for many years. All it took was one trip to my country of choice to realize it wasn’t me, but the f-ed up culture that has evolved in the US.
I just wanted to put this up i was quite surprised! Forbes magazine has called Dumaguete the 5th best city in the WORLD! AMAZING i guess i will have to take a run down there...
The 10 best places to retire i googled top 10 places to retire i see nothing in asia Iceland. ... Ireland. ... Australia. ... New Zealand. Life expectancy is 82. ... Luxembourg. Life expectancy is 82 and a relatively high cost of living. ... Netherlands. Life expectancy is 81 years. ... Denmark. Life expectancy is 82. ... The Czech Republic. Life expectancy is 78.
@@mikesphilippineretirement thanks. But I think there are many references or polls or publications out there that have their own results. I do remember years ago that Dumaguete was up there.
15 years ago, a friend asked me, "would you be interested in dating a Filipina"? I told her, "I never thought about it". She made a list just like your list about Philippine woman. So, I went to the Philippines and found my wife. My wife never liked the US. Too much pressure for her. People are, "too unprofessional" as well. We are looking forward to leaving the US
You are completely correct about the one way street, unreal.. Sorry for the late viewing, just worked back to back doubles ughhh Tired but the paycheck will make up for it. Hard for us guys in our 60s to meet any woman here in the USA unless you have a 6 digit bank account
@@mikesphilippineretirement Absolutely a chair to sit in sir, more time on your feet then sitting, especially during the 0600-1400 shift. But cha Ching for sure my friend
I know many Filipinas, they want to marry white man and have mixed babies, age doesn't matter for them if you have enough money, live in some Philippine city It's easy to date the Filipina. I met couples in Dumaguete city, South Cotabato and Zambales
Folks quit drinking the kool aid most not all men are moving to the Phillipines to date women 25-30 years younger than them. It’s all a transaction the poor girls need money and the men need companionship. Unfortunately in the USA we have age appropriate dating. It is what it is. How many of these men are ok with Older men going out with their own grandchildren here in the USA?
Not sure this is proper here or not but a statistic I found. Poverty rate here is 23 %. In the peninsulas its higher. And as for pay on Negros Occidental i can get my laborers Electricians carpenters whatever for $10 a day!
I would have also let her walk home. She's capable of everything else but providing money support. Well, she can pay her way home with an Uber/Lyft ride home.
I would have left her in the restaurant and excused myself for the restroom and skipped leaving her there to pay the bill and get an Uber home. You don't know how to date friend. 🇺🇸🇮🇱🗽
Your right Mike there are few exceptions and fewer options for older men even young couple both making $20 hour be hard pressed to make ends meet now here in US
Just got back from Southpoint lost $100 bucks, I'm staying at Emerald suites it's a shitt hole and pay$1700 a month, have you and Janet been to tom tom burgers not a bad burger,
The sweet spot to me would be a phillipina that is exactly what you described, and then move with her to Thailand for the better infrastructure. It might be a pipe dream so I wont hild my breath but to me that sounds good.
That does not have to be a pipe dream, however, I think it might be difficult to move her away from her family. It is not a long distance and frequent visits might make it easier for her. Good luck.
I wear the Badge of Passport Bro proudly. My Filipina girlfriend appreciates that I am a traditional masculine man. I appreciate that she is a very feminine woman. I was married for 38 years. Divorced now for 7 going on 8 years. I have tried the dating websites and have met several women but Mike is right they are not someone that I want to spend the rest of my life with much less a second date.
Men and women have definitely changed the rhythm of connecting in the west. Men have long hair and put it up in a manbun if he choses. Wears skinny jeans and slacks, can apply his makeup better than I can, and has an exposed feminine side that is difficult to relate to. I am drawn to the blue collar men that have kept masculinity alive. Women have short hair, wear skinny jeans even though she shouldn’t, and has an exposed masculine side that I find is difficult to relate to. Western women are moving to their that fantastic Latin county, where he is tall, dark, and handsome and men are moving to Asia. Something will give and what we will end up with is kinda scary. Some women love just one time, with no need to love again………….and life continues.
Omg! You described my last GF.. was her name Amy by any chance? I paid for everything, did everything she asked and she still complained. I think she cooked twice during the entire 2 years I dated her.
Us is too expensive. Mortgages up to the roof. Vacations cost an arm and a leg. Unless you got a good marketable degree or skill you are basically a slave for nickle and dimes. Plus the girls there are becoming scary hahaha. They would dump you easy and replace you like underwear
thats what i feel also . I was one of many Who left the States for a better life in the Philippines
Do you actually believe that Pinoy women aren't learning to make the same demands that are beneficial to them?

hahaha good reply
perfect response. I don't know any women that Mike speaks of, but I guess there are many.
Mabuhay and much happiness to you and your family ❤️🌴
thank you Jerry and thanks for sharing
Mike, this video is 💯 % spot on. No more American women for me. I can't wait to be in the Philippines in February or March!!!!!
You owe it to yourself man Do it.
hope to meet up with you have a safe flight
Mike you are looking younger or healthier or happier , Good for you ! the fountain of Youth is in Philippines ? all the best to you and Janet
thank you Rory
Could not have said it better. Love it here in Cebu.
i like Cebu city very much
I am 53, live in Texas, own a nice house, have all my teeth and hair, I am fit and workout daily, I am financially stable and have my life in order. Except I am all alone lol.
sounds like you have your life together time to enjoy it
Listen to me please. Do not sell your house just go visit and if you decide to move there then put your house under a good management company for passive income. Thank me later
@macwil2359 what are looking for my niece looking for a bf hehehe!!
Don't sell your house. Go on a couple of trips first. Enjoy.
Be careful with a filipina most are about money there long range goal is a house or lot

Great story about her getting in the truck. I feel that in so many cases it’s not even worth making an effort to date here in North America. I just can’t be bothered. I’m much happier with Pier. No drama and smooth sailing. 😊 still watching.
Happy New Year Mike and Janet!

Welcome
Mike - I had a similar experience with a woman whilst entering the local bank. We arrived at the door at the same time and being a gentleman I reached out for the door opened it and nodded for her to go first. Big Mistake. She firmly stated ''Did you open the door for me because I am a woman.... I can do that for myself ". It was one of those moments that I had no answer for ....but today I would say " No Ma'am, I opened it for you because I am a gentleman". Feminists!
totally nothing I can say about that
As a 48 year old man about to turn 49 in a few weeks and exactly 7 1/2 years away from retirement. My exit plan from the US to the Philippines cant get here fast enough. 8 years ago was when i took my first trip there and it changed me forever. My advice to all single men out there is to boycott western women and travel abroad. You will all be much happier.

The men who are retirement age are from a bygone era. They are still thinking they want something that no longer exists. Sure men have changed, but it is women who still think they can command a lot more than they are actually worth. The standards and expectations that must be met by men now have left most bitter and angry. I know I felt that way for many years. All it took was one trip to my country of choice to realize it wasn’t me, but the f-ed up culture that has evolved in the US.

I know many Filipinas, they want to marry white man and have mixed babies, age doesn't matter for them if you have enough money, live in some Philippine city It's easy to date the Filipina. I met couples in Dumaguete city, South Cotabato and Zambales
The ME TOO movement , no care attitude ruined the girl/women in USA/AUSTRALIA
so true...
I do not think so charlie so much work going on here building many builders have had to stop bc of labor shortage
Your right Mike there are few exceptions and fewer options for older men even young couple both making $20 hour be hard pressed to make ends meet now here in US
The main thing they want is your money there.. but they got nothing to offer in return..just enjoy your chemistry here dude

Thank you for your comment. Long time since I had a second date
