I was WRONG about Fingertip Mice (SHOCKING) ft. Keychron M4

- I finally found a good fingertip grip mouse shape, the keychron M4. Shockingly it comes from Keychron and not an enthusiast mouse company. The M4 could be much more refined but it opened my eyes as is

Pops up as I’m watching m4 reviews, Boardzy is a fed
I have the 1k and frankly I don’t see myself going back to a full size mouse. It’s the most effortless and agile feeling mouse I’ve used. My aim has improved and since I travel a lot it actually works super well as a little travel laptop mouse as well. At $50 I feel like it is an incredible buy if you are interested in going to a fingertip shape like I was. Props to keychron for making this because otherwise I would never have been willing to shell out $130+ to gwolves for a shape I wasn’t sure id like. $50 got me in the door and I’m never going back.
wrong again? NOT shcoking!
Yeah but hes modest enough to admit when hes wrong. God bless boardzy
@@sylvaintheriault1868he's so humble 😫
best mouse on the market if you fingertip, hands down. that’s coming from someone with the lamzu atlantis mini, beast x mini, pulsar x2v2, fantech aria, and the thorn
Been really enjoying using the Keychron M4 since I picked it up. Havent needed grip tape the way I hold it. Mostly due to the thumb placement on the curves which feel much better in hand to the HSK Pro imo
I've played all the current fingertip mouseZ and my favorite is this one -> "Keychron M4 " is for me the best fingertip mouse at the moment!
What a coincidence! My best friend bought me a second hand M4 for my birthday and it is my first experience with fingertip mouse (as an ftip grip enjoyer). It’s a blast to use especially for the price. Though after a session of use, my pointer finger sores 🥲
I fell for the fingertip craze a few years ago, it felt good and was a lot of fun in terms of speed but couldn't preform consistently and longer gaming sessions would get uncomfortable.
Went back to a bigger more comfortable mouse and my consistency improved a lot. Then while watching a rally documentary where they showed how much more control all wheel drive cars have compared to front or rear wheel drive cars it showed perfectly how more control you have the more points of contact you have. Full palm grip was to slow though, claw or relaxed finger/palm is my end game and my conclusion is that comfort is king.
That's because practically all fingertip mice are made wrong. M4 is one of the best in years, but not good enough IMO for professional gaming. For fingertip mice to be competitive enough compared to a full-sized mouse, they must be 30g max, with deep comfort grooves and a very sticky 11/10 coating for maximum grip and stability. Imagine M1/M2 of MZ1 or G703 levels of control + deep thumb grooves like KPA, with the right side being something like g303 or XM1; then, you will have maximum stability from all points of contact fingers. The final notes would be large surface area skates for maximum stability and slow material like Corepad CTRL. + obvious highest quality sensor + clicks.
All those things combined could make fingertip mice enter an eSports competition, IMO.
The fingertip era of mice is coming, but slowly.
@@Mira_SaradaI agree so much especially about the MZ1 finger grooves. Never had a mouse that felt as good for fingertip for me than the MZ1
@@Mira_Sarada Now that would be interesting, wonder which brand would risk a chance on that 🤔
@@Mira_Sarada have you looked into SoSpacer or ClawMates grips? I feel like they're heading in a similar direction
fingertip mouse never been a great mouse for intense gaming , but for relax gaming like RE series or elden ring something this is a great mouse for long gaming sessions
I'm so excited! I bought this mouse a few days ago and it's coming friday. For $50 it seems like a good buy, $10 shipping btw
I bought this mouse because it wasn't very expensive and wanted to try a fingertip mouse since forever, my main issue with the mouse is that on my copy the click feels heavy and often the mouse would move while clicking and I would miss shots, also the sides become really narrow so I fixed that with some tape as well, if the clicks were lighter I would give it a longer shot, I'm waiting for the beast x mini currently and maining the atlantis mini in the meantime.
Did you use the stock cable? Cause that cable is flawed and causes polling rate inconsistencies together with the USB-C to USB-A adapter. Maybe because of that you had issues with the polling rate feeling. Try and use a different usb-c cable perhaps
Yeah I believe my cable completely busted would not with 4k dongle at all. Wl mouse, razer, and pwnage cables all worked fine.
Is it the cable itself or the adapter specifically?
@@caffeinefrag adapter. So when you directly plug usb c to usb c if your mobo has it then its fine
@@MorrTex nope, it's the cable, at least on my unit. I tried mine on multiple PCs, Motherboard USB3.2 Type-C, Motherboard Thunderbolt 4, Motherboard USB4 and front-USB 3.1 Type-C, all of them had issues with (inconsistently) losing pairing to the 4k dongle and needing to be replugged or powering the mouse off and on.
Like, I never even plugged the fucker into the adapter and I still had the issues.
Hey, is there any issues with the cable using 1k polling rate? I'm planning on getting this mouse, and I'm not sure if the cable is going to be reliable.
The tape is normal tape or something fancy? (where can I get it?), awesome video, like always Boardzy! :)
Pulsar supergrips, you can get pre cut or a sheet. I reviewed them last year
Thank you! 🙌@@boardzy
I've had my hsk pro for a little over a year. It was fun to get into the shape for me, that it got me into aim training in general.
At this point, gonna upgrade to a lamzu option soon. Still love what I went thru with the HSK, but it's a fun little design, closest thing I'm gonna feel to aiming with a drawing utensil. But now I wanna put my finer mouse control gained on a more normal mouse
Are you thinking the maya?
My favorite mouse of all time is the
G300s.
Ambidextrous small mouse kinda heavy cuz it's old but perfect for fingertip grip with my hands. I loved that thing.
Now I wanna see you review the Keychron m3 mini metal edition
This or Z1 Pro? (both seem to have SUS 4K) looking for the smallest budget mouse possible that happens to be extremely viable for gaming (i can accomodate my grip without issue)
Do you have a grip tape recommendation? Hopefully Amazon available. I have been looking even for ones you can cut yourself to customize fits. Great find on this one.
hes using pulsar supergrip in the video
eyy thanks boardzy Imma cop one
This is truly shocking 😩
now i know the vxe r1 pro review is coming
good for 131 claw fingertip grip style?
edit: and any reason why most/some people like the keychron m4 better than the hsk fingertip mice?
I'm not sure about keychron m4 but well it's a mouse that I can see my self using for work
I'm sticking with the cooler master mm720 for now but this might be a contender when I want a new laptop mouse for my macbook.
Personally for me HSK Pro is the most comfortable mouse that exist. Having smaller hands 18x9 and using 1-3-1 fingertip, it is perfect. Saying that after watching this, maybe I will try the M4 someday
We are both right. Something is wrong with you (1-3-1 ftip) but you also enjoy the mouse
@@boardzy 💀💀
I get a lot of pain in my pinky finger/region when I game with a mouse. I have fairly big hands and was wondering if anyone knows if switching to a true fingertip grip mouse like this might help alleviate the pain as I could potentially just eliminate my pinky being engaged with the mouse at all with this size? (I have tried GPX which is good but painful and now DAV3P which is better but still sometimes painful, maybe I’m not fully used to it or am gripping too hard?)
also, you need to use a different usbc cable cuz there's a lot wrong with the cable they sent this batch with.
I have large hands (not medium, not extra large based on my motorcycle glove size which have to be sized perfect) and with fingertip, this mouse is just fine for me to us too!
Some say the issue with 4k is due to the cable that comes with it, maybe try another.
Release the mini review alredady, little one
The hsk is perfect for a gnome like me but I cant't imagine my hands being even 5-10% bigger and using it tbh lmao
bro has a new mousepad in every video
Finally you getting an R1 pro max
Mr boardzy, between a beastx mouse and viper v2 pro with dongle which would you recommend
Do you want a lighter and smaller mouse? if so, go beastx. If you want smth more tried and true/standard from a large brand go razer. But maybe wait since theyre rumored to have another release in april
@@boardzy thank you Mr boardzy
thoughts on nearlink tech and the realtek 8k?
truly shocking
Please, brother, we want to review the other versions of keychron
10/10 for people with small hands holy cow... absolutely love mine.
So whats the best fingertip grip mouse? That's my preferred style
Can you play with the cable connected to the mouse?
For the price, it's nuts
Can you review the m3s?
Shocking indeed
Any recommendations on mice that have angled sides that make the mouse really easy to pick up? Im currently using the g305 because it has the perfect angle on the sides but I want to find something lighter.
Zowie U2 comes to mind but its not the exact shape you're looking for
Atlantis mini IMO
CM 712 is fantastic and it has the shape you're looking for.
@@dMGraymusic Just got one and you are right. Fits perfectly with my hand/grip. Ripped off the trash stock feet and replaced with some tiger ice dots and now its the best feeling mouse ive ever used. Thanks.!
The real question is if they actually have a support compared to G-Wolves
fingertip mouse pilled got me ive been on rottok to much
can you review Keychron M2 mini?
Please check out the Keychron M2 and the Keychron M3 Alloy / Metal Edition!
I'll try to, I had the worst experience with their past mice until this one
Great value option to get into tiny ftip shapes but the curves on the sides just isn't something i like. I still recommend the HSK Plus (not pro) as best atm in this size range
Dermoshark m5
Why do you prefer the Plus over the Pro? From watching pictures I would estimate that the missing reposition of the side-buttons on the plus is actually a drawback, but I'm interested in what you think. Did you test them both?
@@yosoy1loco I actually have a full review of both and my reasoning behind my preferences for the Plus on my YT channel .
@@UpgradeLemonade n1, I'm gonna check it out. Thanks for the reply!

The HSK pro slander continues...
Turns out it's your bigfoot-style hands. For us regular and NOT SMALL handed people, HSK pro is fantastic
B-but I bought the hsk pro :husk:
I’m big fan of mz1 so is that good shape for me?
Waiting for the Darmoshark equivalent :)
Thats the m5 right? Think I saw it on twitter
@@boardzy Yes sir, supposed to be 2-3mm wider, which may help for big hands.
I like the HSK, I guess I have awful mouse taste and somethings wrong with me...🤷♂
Goated mouse. And i do certainly NOT have babyhands…
@@lupo_aim 🤣🤣🤝💪
Damn you making buy so many mice.
HSK Pro 4k FTW.
Fingertip grip FTW.
Honestly yeah HSK pro 4k is super nice Boardzy has some wierd hatred for it
@@r4nowoit is a little too small but there really isn’t a better alternative…
7:21 really dawg
The switches are so light that if I "slam" the mouse when swiping, it activates the switches haha
I am shocked
What Mouse do you recommend for someone like me who has a 10,000edpi. I currently am using the Model O- on skyped. I was using the g305 with supper glides but it was too heavy. And yes 10,000edpi--- 1.31cm/360
But why tho? You are literally handicapping your aim. At least try something like 10cm
that daidai zero looking sexy, had to cop me one
Is the ultralight X the best mouse
I've been using the M4 for a month and I gotta say I don't agree with any of the nitpicks
Need a review of Keychron M3 mini 🥲🥲
gg gaming ga si guys
@boardzy looking for a slighty more controlled alternative for my hien soft. what would you suggest?
I like the hsk but it could be way better. Also bought it for a fresh 100do.
vaxee np01-s 4k soon...
People on Twitter are always correct.
Thank goodness now try the mk2 and don't switch off of it
Oh you use side buttons my bad
I already have both zaunkoenig mice and have the next on the way, just dont find the shape good. Its intentionally bad even if I remember their website writeups correctly
thats what i been saying, the problem with HSK pro is the downward slope which eliminates side wall space for your thumb and ring finger on other side of the mouse
Fingertip mouse should actually have an elevated front end for more finger space but also if the mouse buttons were not slanted down wards, fingers would actually stay on the mouse since fingertip grip = gripping the mouse exactly where the fingertips are touching. Having any kind of hump in the rear is literally useless and does nothing
It's a G-Wolves HSK Plus
No
It's actually smaller than the G-Wolves HSK Plus @@boardzy
???
i love my hsk pro, can't use anything but that mouse, but i also have v small hands so
people gonna buy this for their toddler😄
why trash hsk pro though, for my tiny hand it's practically perfect. I'm not that competitive so it performs really well
in apex for me...
I reviewed it too and its the goat ftip mouse
Indeed, do you think the nitpicks hold any water? I don't
Griptape + obsidian dot skates make it goated. Also the polling rate issue maybe come because he used the stock cable. That one is known to be flawed and have issues proven by mousetester tests vs when using a different usb-c cable.@@comkioxd
@@comkioxd Griptape + obsidian dot skates make it goated. Also the polling rate issue maybe come because he used the stock cable. That one is known to be flawed and have issues proven by mousetester tests vs when using a different usb-c cable. Mentioned it in my vid
@@MorrTex He wasn't using the stock cable, the white version comes with a white cable and you can clearly see his is black. I don't see why you'd change the skates though mine feel super smooth and I have no issues with the abs plastic keycap grip on it
This mouse has ruined mice for me I can't go back to normal sized mice anymore
Youve got some wierd hatred for the hsk pro 4k. It is overpriced but i like it
cloth vs glass pads. I really wanna hear your thoughts please.
He has 🍊 cloth pad with glass fibers
nah, bought it, tried it, it's not even close to the hsk.
😱😱😱😱😱
price is kinda crazy u gotta admit, 69 USD for 4k or 50 USD if u dont care about that.
Yeah I definitely emphasized that. Especially compared to other fingertip mice
The shipping fee is the real surprise.
imo hsk pro> dont get ur issue with the shape tbh
So tiny and thin grip width
same, have very big hands and still dont have a problem with it. Also have a lot of different mice, so tried a lot of shapes and dont see any issues. But I guess personal preference
My thumb is pointed outwards because of the tilted angle I have to grip it from and the stupidly flat sides towards the back, my fingers feel terrible on the right side because of how short and slim it is towards the top. There is no nuanced ergonomic design to the shape, its designed for 4 fingers not 5. My mind will not change on this
@@boardzy With your type of grip I understand your point. I basicly claw it just without the contact at the back obviously.
So your negative point are positives for me
stock skates suck so yes replace it. this mouse is PHENOMENAL imo and basically makes hsk overpriced usb bs pointless now. can't wait for darmos take on fingertips.
Nah the stock skates feel great idk what you're on about
Hey
Meh, we have the same size hand and hsk pro is my favorite mouse. To each their own. Don’t play Fortnite to be fair I guess.
HSK + > HSK Pro

Its no wonder why fingertip mouse feels heavier actually being same weight as full-size. There are huge forearm chunks of meat which moves people's palm, but there are few small meat pieces that moves our fingers. But there are some benefits despite feeling heavy: if ur mouse sens is high enough to cover all Y axis that u need, u will never be using ur shoulder or even core body to move mouse forward which u always tend use with palm/claw grips. So keep in mind that u will always feel fatigue in palm trying fingertip mice for some long time, because ur finger related muscles need to get stronger enough for new grip. But eventually u may (its MAY BE not for sure, always individually based) get better posture without need in using of core body to move ur mouse.
Where dat OP1 8k video at? 😢
