Heavily looking to learn to play with a fingertip grip and you have honestly sold me on this mouse. Your videos honestly are amazing quality and heavily underrated.
I've been loving this thing! i grip it so differently to you too which is one of the things i like about it - there's more than 1 way to grip it. I hold it almost all in the front. Great video MorTex
I'm gripping it the same way, I wish the sensor was even more forward placed. I can't use the thumb buttons very effectively unless I'm gripping it almost at the front, but with the sensor placement, I can aim a little bit better with my fingers a little farther back
I have watched through thousands and thousands of mouse review and you are the only person has the same far back fingertip grip and same finger placement as me. I have instantly bought the mouse and subscribe to you after watching this review.
Hopped in here to thank you for your service for recommending this mouse! Coming from a G305 and finally investing to a pure finger tip Been maining it for 2 months or so and it has been really good Unfortunately, my copy's switches became mushy for that short time period resulting to increased pre-travel so much that it affects click latency but I soldered in some good o'l Omrons and I'm a happy man Deserves a sub and more! Thanks!
Great to see more companies such as Keychron and Darmoshark focusing on such niche shapes rather than being M3K/HSK duopoly (or 3D prints). I am actually quite excited for the M5 due to their approach of flatter sides. MZ1 is an example where they try to appeal to a larger audience, it is one of my favorites because of the sides, width and button grooves but its simply too long and has obnoxious hump (unless you use the wireless version).
thanks for covering the different fingertip grip styles: i.e. forward, mid, back fingertip grips. and also the difference in whether some people keep their pinky and ring fingers together or apart. my holding style is very similar to yours, so if the grip is satisfying enough for you then it likely will be for me.
Wasn't mentioned in the review, but KC also lube their mice wheels from the factory too! I've not heard of anyone else doing this, so it's definitely a great positive to have. I noticed it was good out of the box, and thought it would be even better lubed so when I opened it up it was a nice surprise. Excellent review, doesn't even need latency testing as with the sensor and MCU you can't really blame the mouse for bad pew pews. KC also released a firmware update for the M4 which halved the latency for mouse movements too, but it was already so low before the update I didn't even notice it, but free latency improvement is free :)
Great review with great insights! Love the sound effects too - nice production overall! Hadn't realized you didn't review this yet. Looking forward to more 👍
I was expecting to hate the scroll wheel on this mouse when I got it as an Apex player yet surprisingly it doesn't fall short at all when using the scroll wheel for Tap Strafing and B-Hopping. Definitely going to be my main mouse for awhile until i get another mouse this size.
My favorite thing to do with rechargeable mice is to stick a magnetic cable on, that allows you to quickly snap in and unsnap as fast as you can. it would add a micro amount of weight but it's probably negligible.
Having been intrigued about fingertip-centric mice myself, influenced by the fact that regardless of what mice I use, I would end up gravitating to gripping it with a fingertip-style grip, I went ahead and got these on a 10.10 sale along with DIY grip tape and dot skates as a starter in dipping my toes on experiencing using these kinds of mice. I got the base version as I didn't really care much for 4k polling and the keyboard design of the dongle lmao. At first I was a little worried this was a bad idea of a purchase for hobby-related reasons because I have 20x10cm hands and I would end up feeling way too uncomfortable with how thin these were, but a part of me also thought it's pretty affordable anyways so it'll still be worth a shot exploring to sate my intrigue. When I got it a little over a week later, mods applied and all, I finally got to try em out and as expected, there was much needed adjustment period with my hand that's used to the dimensions of the Pulsar X2V2. Surprisingly, I adapted to it only a day later and I AM NOW SO IN LOVE with how these feel in my hand. The more I get used to its size and shape, the more I'm falling in love with the Keychron M4; I've began to feel so much authority with my mouse control that's nothing like I've felt with any mice I've previously used prior to this, especially with tracking! In the end, getting this mouse was absolutely worth it and I'm glad I made the decision to get these.
the best keychron review ive seen rn and im actually willing to buy it. really wanna learn fingertip play style to demolish people in public in apex legends xDD
Razer Viper Mini was my go to mouse because of the hourglass-kind of shape. I am waiting for my m4 to be delivered next week and I am really curious about it. I hope it becomes my new favorite because I love lightweight mice. 35 grams just sounds so sexy to me.
I was actually having trouble with the Mouse losing pairing to the 4k Dongle because of the shitty stock cable during gameplay, forcing a restart of the mouse or replugging of the dongle. Switched the dongle over to my Lamzu cable and now 0 issues.
Nice video! I didn't think about removing the sticker for room for dot skates, I will have to do that as three isn't enough. I swapped the clicks and scroll wheel on my unit to ttc gold, I like the the harsh steps the ttc gold encoder has. Overall, I really like the m4. I bought it on a whim and didn't know if I would care for the shape, turns out I like the curves.
I bought the M4 but regret it now. I use an identical grip with extended ring and pinky along the right side, but the grip is so narrow that you have to squeeze your palm together to hold it tight cramping your hand, and when pressed into the mouse pad this way, losing blood flow. Quite uncomfortable. My ring finger also locks out straight which doesn't feel nice in the knuckle joint. I've realised the normal sized mouse with a higher side edge I used before kept my ring finger bent slightly avoiding the lockout. Tried adding silicone ergo stickers to it etc but they feel lumpy and unnatural so in the end gave up and bought a regular mini size mouse.

Hey, I've been wondering lately. If the internal clock of the computer , runs 1000 hz per second (as standard) , what then measures and controls these gadgets with more refreshments per second ? Aren't those 4000 hz in mice a simple multiplier by any chance ? Markenting ploy to extract more money ?
What do you mean by internal clock? I have never heard that in regards to higher polling rate mice. 4000hz is not a marketing ploy to extract more money. It has a real benefit for people that use 240hz refresh rate monitors or more. dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3472749.3474783 here is a study about this topic how perceivable jitter is reduced when using higher refresh rates in conjunction with higher mouse polling rates.
