It’s not really competing with the t7 but filling a void in the class. Honda sacrificed ground clearance for a much lighter feeling, flickable and overall agile bike.
it has the same or more ground clearance than a KLR 650 and nobody ever complained about not enough ground clearance of the KLR. ... slap a bash plate and stiffer springs on the Transalp (as you would on a Tenere if you're over 80kg) and off-road you go. You can't fix the top heaviness of the Tenere by the way‼️
@@kloppskalli I haven’t changed the suspension but my skid plate constantly hits the ground. It’s a great bike but it’s not a tenere. If you’re struggling with the weight definitely consider switching, the transalp feels incredibly light while riding.
I wonder why Honda decided to put 21” wheels on the transalp if they designed it as a road tourer…it makes more sense to use 19 inches , specially since they did that on the Africa Twin adventure sports model.
Just playing the same game bmw did with the F800gs with a 21" wheel and the r1200gs with the 19" wheel. Infact the transalp really is just a newer f800gs . Brings nothing new to the table at all.
you orobably did yourself a great favour. I have a Tenere with stiffer springs. Its so high and top heavy, I lost all interest in solo offroad riding. Slap a bash plate and harder springs on the Transalp is goina be alright
The transalp shoud have been powered the same as the twin and should have been simplified like the t7 but instead its loaded and simple maintenance does not exist on the transalp. You go ride the western states your aircleaner is not going to last then you actually need a shop to replace it instead of pulling of your seat and get it done.
The Honda excels in nothing, while the Tenere has multiple sub-models already available with a bulletproof, well-proven engine and thousands of aftermarket accessories... In a nutshell, too little and too late by Honda. As usual.
Not saying the Honda excels but most reviews i have seen have agreed the Honda is a better road bike and the Tenere is a better offroad bike. Also the Honda is cheaper. I guess it depends what your purpose for the bike is.
@@eddierumpali3840 don't be picky . Honda it's giving a lot of bike for 10k. for ages and ages bikes don't have cruise control and people travel, commute everyday. The "pseudo-online-reviewers" just repeat themselves with the same "drawbacks" when they have nothing to point out.
Thanks for the enlightening video. Have you had the chance to make this comparison with the Yamaha Ténéré 700 explore?

Where I’m from the Transalp is 5k$ less than the tenere so I bought one, if prices were the same I would go with the more off-road capable one

Honda just can get that mean look. Ford sierra styling. But a good bike underneath

I chose the Transalp. Overall better value proposition for touring, city and not hard core offroad. Humble. And cheaper. 😂 Its a nobrainer.
AI = Australian Intelligence. Who knew? 😉
These AI voices starting to get really annoying.
The Honda is a touring bike at best, not an adv bike.
Transalp for riders under 6 ft. Tenere for riders over 6 ft. It's really that simple.

different bike use, not too late coz it's selling pretty well even than the 800de.
So right.@@mikecollins3406 transalp it's a road bike.
Honda missed a trick here by not giving this bike cruise control.
