Beautiful work.... I'm looking to design a twin engine drone for rescue purposes and recording storms..... I always felt that a weed wacker engine can lower building cost for my project.

hi Russell, yes Sir it can. you need to get one with a clutch on it. no hard just look at small engine repair shops. Russel, I don't do any kind of conversions anymore Sir. I stopped a few yrs back. good luck Russell, you can do it, its not hard at all! God Bless***** Gary

Gary, Nice running motor. I am looking at converting a weed-eater (mccullough 28cc) motor for RC use. Can you clarify a few things for me?
How did you connect to the existing crankshaft? My motor has a square bore in the end of it which accepts the end of a flexible cable that drives the weed whip.
The motor originally had a priming bulb on the gas line and a return line to the fuel tank. The bulb leaked so I took it off, and I capped the return line to the fuel tank. Can you explain how the fuel system is supposed to work on these? What is the return line for? Do I need a pressurized fuel tank?

Use mid grade unleaded as most of these engines are high compression ones.
where do the cranks with the full circle counter weights come from?
huh? I dont know what you mean? Gary
I think he means that the crank has two counter weights on them vs the ones like model glow engines have. Echo engines have those two CWs.

+DIED12 ROBLOX&MINECRAFT hi, I never got over $135.00 shipped for them. and I was doing the tricks to them that would make them come alive, tuned into allot of work the mods I would do to make them run like that and last forever. I was squeezing a extra HP or 2 out of all of them and make them hand start, idle forever and transition the throttle like they would and turn bigger pitch and length props, put the right smooth bore carburetors and hot coils and heavy magnets to do that kind of running like they should to make a real awesome running RC model airplane engine that would outlast them Chinese engines and you could depend on them and be proud of them! check this link out on RCUNIVERSE for my engine gallory user name> flyncrazy
