Should i flush cat litter down the toilet ?

- Many people find it inconvinient to throw used cat litter in the trash. But is cat litter flushable..and is it a good idea to flush it down the toilet ?

No, do not flush cat litter down the toilet, real life story, some years ago, I had a bunch of cats, we kept the littler box in the bathroom, I was so sick and tired of putting it in bags, I figured I would just flush it all down the drains, and so I did, I can't remember how long I did that, but, it must have been months, I would flush down literally the entire litter box, every single thing was flushed down the toilet, until one day, (I lived in a apartment BTW) there was papers on everybody's doors, telling everybody that they were gonna fix the plumbing because the pipes were clogged, on the paper it said that we couldn't turn on the water until they were done fixing the problem, the day is going by, and then they start checking the pipes that were on my side of the apartment, they open up the pipes, and I guess they found all of this cat litter in there, the funny thing is, they told everyone not to turn the water on, when they were unclogging the pipes, I turned the water on, and I guess the workers got all wet, I heard them yelling "turn the water off! Turn the water off!" I did, but after about a minute or two lol, they unclogged the pipes, and I guess they found out it was me who clogged the pipes, because I was the only person in the apartment complex who had cats, they didn't do anything to me, other than just yell at me to stop flushing cat litter down the toilet, which was a surprise, but from there on out, I haven't flushed cat litter down the toilet ever again, well, sort of, so yea, it's defiantly a bad idea to flush cat litter down the toilet
How is putting cat litter in the trash in a plastic bag any better than flushing it?? either way it sounds like the environment will be compromised
My tenant cost me thousands of dollars putting cat litter in the toilet. It does not dissolve. It’s like putting rocks down the pipe. Eventually it’s gonna settle in a bend of the pipes. In our case it got in the main line. Flooded the whole house.
As long as you break up the clumps of litter before flushing and flush frequently,, what's the problem ?
I have been flushing clumping cat litter down my toilet for over 7 years now and have had little to no problems with my sewer drain and or toilet, oh sure sometimes there is a clog every now and then, but then so goes life? When this happens you can almost always use the plunger and isn't that what it's for? Just saying?
