- Truly a song everyone can relate to with a beat that'll stick in your head. It really feels like it encapsulates the thoughts and feelings of hoping to one day be appreciated for the work that you put in, both in the we love what you do sense and the we want to pay you for all the effort you put in sense. Lawrence: The Band That Never Misses. I am so excited to see them in October!
Much love ya'll :)

This one gives me a real Paul Simon vibe for some reason. It's stealthily become one of my favorite tracks on the album.
Yup. Very Paul Simon-y :)
Yeah man, caught me off guard
It's such a sleeper earworm and you're absolutely right! Much love
This song is such a vibe! Love it!
It really is! I have been listening to this as my wake up song xD Much love
Random thoughts:
1. The time 6:21 is a sly reference to the albums release date: June 21st.
2. If the song seems more traditionally rooted in the blues than their other work, it’s because it is. The BoDiddly/clave rhythm is unmistakable, which has been used by contemporary artists as diverse as Springsteen and the Stones, to KT Tunstall and George Thorogood, who had a hit with his cover of Diddly’s “Who Do You Love?”
3. The song harkens to other albums where a song included interpolations of same-album tracks. Here, Clyde starts riffing by inserting pieces of Family Business and Guy I Used To Be.
4. What’s up with UA-cam’s algorithm? I use this account almost exclusively to search, watch and like related Lawrence content and it took it THREE WEEKS to put this in front of my face? 🤦♂️ I’m sure I’ve searched “LAWRENCE REACTION “ at least once a day since it was released and not seen this until tonight.
5. The analogy is sometimes literal. “Do I need to go and testify/Just to get myself some pay” directly references Clyde and Jordan appearing at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where Clyde enumerated the abuses rising artists face as a result of TM/LiveNation’s monolithic hold on the live entertainment industry. Most notably, he highlighted the usurious practice of demanding a cut of artists’ merch sales. TM/LN subsequently implemented their “On the Road Again” program at their smaller venues.
6. Thanks for the reaction. Where will you be seeing them?
