Honestly I just think you should hear how great of a job you did teaching people the right way and showing how to properly replace and install. Thank you for taking time to make this video!

Thank you for taking the time to post this video. I’m a newby at recumbent trikes and didn’t know which tools to buy. Regards from Australia.

Did you bring a shop stand with you?

Any recommendations on how to bring along a shop stand with you when you go cycling, incase you get a flat?

For a rear flat, you might just tip the trike to the non-drive side and work that way. For rear shifting issues where you need to spin the rear wheel, just prop the frame up on something. I have also seen people make a small stand out of PVC pipe.

Excellent video. Only comment was sometimes you were high off the screen and unable to see your hands as you worked. Thanks for the lesson.

Thanks! I do my own stunts so my camera skills are still in development.

Thanks for the video! I do have a question, I can’t find any tutorials on how to remove the rear tire on an HPVelotechinik Scorpion FS. It has both the internal hub gears and sprockets, and does not have a quick release. Please help me! Thanks 🙏

Charles, Older models will have a Sram DD3 box that controls the internal gear. That box has a button on the underside that you can push to remove it. Once you get that free, you should be able to remove the wheel from the frame by removing the bolts that hold the wheel. If you have a newer model (2018 and newer), it will have a Sturmey Archer hub. There is a connection point in the chain that comes out of the hub that allows you to disconnect it and drop the wheel out of the frame. Hope that helps.

Can you please explain how to fix a flat on the road without an assistant or a stand?

Not at all a problem on my Hase delta trikes.
For rear flat tire, simply tip trike onto its side.
      NO disassembly required at all!!!

What if you don’t have a quick release lever?

You need to have the tools to remove your wheel from the bike (wrench etc) on your ride or else you can't change the flat.

Do you know someone who has a useful channel for learning two-wheel recumbent maintenance and tips and tricks, accessories? I just bought 4 two-wheels and it's very hard to find info specific to two wheels.

The components are the same between two and three-wheel recumbents. The big challenge for recumbents is getting them off the ground to work on them. Let me know what type of questions you have and I will see what I can do.

Just picked up another one (used, this time) - the rear hubs are stuck on the axles - I am guessing they corroded on because the hubs are aluminum and the axles are steel) - anyway - I have 2 damaged rear wheels that need repairing (broken spokes) and can't get these rims off the axles on the bike - HELP.

Good video but you were working out of camera shot and I could not see what you were doing with the valve....

How would you do that if you were on the road

Roadside changes are the same except I would put the trike on one side to do the back tire. Always ride with a spare and the right tools to change a tube.

Trike rider Sylvia Halpern did a video on using a yellow safety cone to raise the trike. She set the trike on top of the cone, using part of the frame just behind the seat (cumbersome to describe here, but easy to see how simple it is on her video). It appeared to work well, allowing her to spin the pedals and get the trike into its highest gear, without having a second person raise the rear wheel. She bought the cone at Walmart, but you can find them lots of other places.
