- PLEASE READ ME!!!
Hey there, a few of my bass buddies asked me if I could do a demo of my new bass...so here we are, mistakes and all. It's all a bit rough and ready and have a few problems with the syncing...so anyway, that aside, I hope you can see how amazing this bass is.
Scott Devine (Scott's Bass Lessons) was playing this bass a few days before I got to the shop too, so that's cool!!
It's an Alembic Custom PJ Jarrah Burl. One of a kind!
I bought this bass second hand but it's pretty much never been played so I would call it new. Thanks to the guys at Bass Direct for being 10/10 and to Alembic for the masterpieces they make.

I’d seen this bass on the Bass Direct website but I couldn’t justify buying it because I’m no longer able to play professionally. I still have my Alembic 20th Anniversary Bass among others so I mustn’t complain. Having watched and loved many of your videos I know this bass has found a great home and I’m genuinely thrilled for you. Thanks for sharing this beautiful instrument with us all.
Hey Simon Crumley, thanks for the comment! This bass was online for a good while. I remember looking at it and thinking if it would be worthwhile getting, eventually I did and I’m super pleased because it is just fab. Thanks for checking out the other videos, I should be getting another demo on soon with my Series 2!
This bass, like my others will be cherished and looked after and gigged! Cheers man!
God Bless ya George!! That is one frightening insrument you have there ! What a light show as well! All your video's are great ! Keep them coming, as you have time!
Hey Philip M! 🤪 cheers! I’ll try and get a demo of the series ll on but it’ll need a restring! Those strings are SO dead! This bass is super duper! Can’t wait to get it out on more gigs! Cheers man!
Hi George! Nice cool demo man! Keep them coming! Alembic rules!!!
Pietje Puk cheers! I’ll try and get some more on from my other basses soon! I just realised how DEAD my other strings are so maybe I should change them! I do like dead strings though! If only somebody would endorse me...🤪 thanks and have a great day!
were your blue side and front leds preinstalled or afterwards just like mine?
@@GeorgePriceBass Hahaha! You have a great day as well George!
Pietje Puk as far I know this bass was made 2012 and it was a custom order! I’m assuming the LED’s were installed when it was built! It’s in perfect condition and it’s barely been played, up until now!
What a great and inspiring player you are!!
Hey man l use to watch your videos all the time. I just want to say your playing inspires me. Good to see you posting again on UA-cam.
Preston E. Clark thanks man! That’s really great to know! I’ll try and post more! I have another demo planned soon! After watching this, I know what to do differently, film and playing wise! Cheers man!
Have a great rest of the week man!
The sound makes it sound like MBIO(Many Basses In One).Very Versatile! And very clean,no matter what the register or how many notes at once.Great instrument.Very nice playing on that demo.
Thanks Joseph Drach! I’m glad you liked it! Alembics are incredibly versatile and they are all superb and play very nicely! Cheers
Very cool
RisvoldTheGreat thanks so much mate! A particular fave in the collection!
OMG The NICEST P/J bass I've ever seen !! Hey George - Would you belive the Mothership Alembic factory is 15 minutes from my house.
Oh, also that bass has Europa electronics, as you know.
Wow, I just noticed this video is only 3 days old ! Your playing is phenomenal. Geddy and Mark are my two favorite players, too. Also Stanley and Jimmy Johnson make up my Mount Rushmore. I friended you on FB and in the bass group, btw.
@@michaelofpetaluma Hey man! Thanks so much for your comments! I'm envious to say the least that you're so close to Alembic HQ. One day I hope to make a journey there and eventually meet the folks behind the masterpieces. I know now that it has Europa electronics in it but I hadn't a clue when I bought it. Thanks to the folks at Alembic, various forum users and yourself for clarifying that! I'm just in the process of giving my Series II a restring for another demo I've got planned!
I've seen Stanley twice and he blew my mind. Mark and Geddy too are just great! Nate East is a particular favourite of mine too.
Glad you liked the playing, I'll see if I can come up with something new for the next one. Cheers!
@@GeorgePriceBass Thanks George ! I love your playing and your videos. You have great taste. Your bass collection is AMAZING. It's priceless. You make playing look so easy. I love this video. I think I'm a pretty good player but you really make it look easy. It's not.
The most desireable bass on the planet to me, right now. My tastes will change, but for now, this is it !!!
Cheers Michael! It is a beautiful bass.
The J-pickup really sounds poooorrr. P-pickup sounds absolutely fantastic!
Hmm, it's not to everyones taste. It's a very bright sound and I prefer it with the tone rolled off. I also generally play with more P pickup with the J blended in to get some brightness in there. The J is also MEGA close to the strings. It was good enough for Jaco though ;)!
Thanks for watching, cheers!
YES!
Thanks man!!
its a great bass bro!
17 Cocodrilos indeed!! It’s wonderful!
Holy shit that sounds awesome
Hey there, thanks so much! It's a cool bass.
Greetings from Seattle. Are ya using your Zoom B3 w/ drum patches? I have to get comfortable with those. I have not used them much, but you have inspired me
Randy Clere hey man! The zoom B3 is just for compression! The drum patches in the zoom are okay but they are very limited in what they can do! For the drums in this video I’m using the singular sound beatbuddy which offers a more improvisational direction when jamming!
Glad you like the video! It’s all a bit rough and ready but anyway! It’s live now!
Cheers
If you don't mind, what did this beauty set you back?
I bought it from Bass Direct, ahhh it was a lot, around the 4K mark I think. I got such a sweet deal on it though considering it was a custom job and one of a kind. 100% worth it though. Never know when you need a P/J tone. Cheers!
amazing collection and playing! just a personal question though... how so you afford all these amazing basses? lol best!
Hey Joe Geezer, many paid gigs, lots of busking, sessions and save save save! They are all 2nd hand too which does reduce the price. Probably mostly down to luck really though...! Cheers for watching!
Hey dude, believe what you like, it’s all cool. I put my hard earned cash into these basses and know that for a fact! I took made the trip to Bass Direct and bought on the day of. Anyway, thanks for the view. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@robturnbull4790 Dude im putting this comment down to ignorance ... ive seen this bassist busking in the tube in London, if you have a rich daddy you wouldn't put yourself on the line like that. So, no this guy is for real!
GeorgePriceBass Are these are cheaper than Alembic’s usual basses? Sounds lovely
@@Tertium8 Hey, great question! This is a custom job so falls in the higher price bracket of the basses! More than the 'budget' (but still incredible) basses, which generally retail 2-3k! I paid a tad more but like I say, customs basses are more cash! It's a particular fave of my basses! Sounds huge! Cheers!
Bellisimo! Is the Body a custom made?
Thanks! This bass was a custom that Alembic made. I don't have any real info as I bought it second hand. Judging by the wood type and specs it appears to be a fairly specific ask as you don't see many Fender style Alembic basses out there. Cheers
I literally can't hear nost of the bass parts from my cellphone. Too low end I spose. Nice bass though man. Nice bass collection.
Hey Dan, I would suggest headphones for the full tonal experience! Thanks though, have a great day!
@@GeorgePriceBass , thanks
Yes indeed kind Sir ! To tell you the truth George, as of late I have been revisiting one of my favorite bands from the UK , Renaissance! featuring the amazing Jon Camp on bass! For some reason you remind me of him ! Here they were back in 1977! ua-cam.com/video/XtSQFewjDD0/v-deo.html
You have more money than sense !
Not anymore 😅 happiness is key though. Cheers
