I had a Stanley Clarke standard model Alembic bass some years ago. A beautiful bass, but very neck heavy, so, inevitably, more difficult to play. Over the years, I’ve had all sorts of basses and, these days, I play a Ken Smith, a Sadowsky and a Spector. These are amongst the best, in my opinion.

How balanced are the Stanley Clarke Signature Alembics? I played one & had no neck dive. I played another one that was older & it had some neck dive where I was holding the bass neck to keep it from being neck heavy. I use to have a '87 Spoiler & '96 Rogue 6 string. The Rogue had long horns to around the 12th fret.

The explanation in the video applies to Wal Basses too, as the Signature Series Alembic Preamp works essentially the same as the Wal Preamp. Only differences being the resonance peak may be different between the two Brands, and instead of a "Q-Switch" on the Alembics, Wal uses a push/pull pot on the filters to engage the resonance boost at the cutoff point.
I personally think the Wal interface is more elegant, but I love the Alembic pointer knobs.
Alembic series i & ii onboard preamps have a few more features, like the Series ii resonance peak being variable. Individual pickup volumes along with the master volume and a 5 pin XLR jack, while Wal has the more common 3 pin.

    • @jwcbronski

Hallo FunkyFlo.

    • @stefanspieler2150
      @stefanspieler2150 3 роки тому

      Hallo FunkyFlo.
      Lg Stefan
