I could remember the midnight release date on April 29th 2008. I was actually interviewed by the local television news, and co-workers at my former place of employment saw me being interviewed the same day I went into work, which was Walmart back in Wisconsin.
I know if no one got me, lil Jacob got me. Also for GTA 5 I'd say Lamar, he a little goofy, and kinda dim, but he is ride or die for all of the protagonists by the end of the game.
Last time I played GTA4 and it's dlc I tried to play it in a weird way. Like I played Niko's story until Johnny popped up then played his story until I got back to that mission with Niko then went back to Niko's story and went back and forth until we got to Louis and added him in.. I thought it felt like Pulp Fiction. I loved it
@@alfiemace4756 it is cool... some missions take some mental gymnastics to make the time line make sense... but for the most part it flows together surprisingly well at first
I feel very bad for Dwayne. I always try to take him to places he likes. I feel extremely bad for his character, I get he's a bad dude but if he could read better he would have been a cop. (I recent brought him to bowling and he told me that)
Dwayne done what he could do to survive. When he had time to reflect he realised how much harm he’d done to people just to get ahead. He had an awful upbringing and then got betrayed most likely by playboy and by his ex. I don’t think he ever gets over the guilt of the people he has hurt tho
I can sympathize with his character to a certain extent but at the end of the day, he was a crack dealer. Most of us go through hardships in life but we all don't poison our fellow brothers with dope. That and the fact that he's a downer makes me not like his character.
@@Captain_Caveman1981 I see your point, but allow me to respectfully ask you this, if ur friend whom is like a younger brother to you and ur girlfriend stab you in the back while ur in prison wouldn't you be a bit depressed. But I do get ur point of him being a crack dealer I just feel he wasn't born with the intention of doing evil unlike Dimitri that slag. I relate to Dwayne in that no one usually calls me to talk so I choose to hangout with him the most
@@thebokan3926 hmm, those are fair points, though at the same time we have to take into account he brought Playboy into the life at 10 years old, which on one hand yea Playboy has to be accountable for the lack of loyalty towards Dwyane, just the fact he brought a child into that life without real guidance makes me really reevaluate my look on him, because yea I truly feel for him, he kinda just is a terrible person that was beautifully written.
I feel like hes my fav guy to hang out with dealing with being down in the dumps as well. In a weird way, the pity I feel for this man kinda makes me like his character more then the others... specially Brucie frickin narcissist. The other 2 favs would be Roman and Packie all 3 are just real fun to be around in game.
Problem is there are children out there under the age 18 almost the entire day on youtube even with Restrictions.. it just things kids actually shouldn't hear or see"Concern Parents"
Kids are watching but they learn curse words in grade school hearing it video games and UA-cam isn’t influenced by media It’s their friends who do that 😅
I find the weight of Kates death to be really heavy, not for Niko, but for Patrick and his mom. All her sons are dying and now her daughter, the only good one dies as well. I found that super depressing as a kid.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Packie’s mom died shortly after the story of a heartbreak. Packie did move to Los Santos so I assume she’s dead I feel like he wouldn’t leave her alone.
@@Jak2bossbf3not to mention if you kill Francis, Derrick probably dies from an overdose canonically. The Patrick we see in 5 is a completely different person.
I've played this game at least 1 time a year since 2012. The story is quintessential GTA, but what makes it a masterpiece is the timeframe. It's New York City circa 2008-2009. The clothing style, the radio music, the way people talked, it all clicked. I lived through this NY myself, and every time I revisit the game, it feels like opening up a time capsule. Personally, I think that is what makes this game great.
It is my favorite game and my most replayed game. I think the other thing that makes this game a masterpiece is the details, the physics, and the way the world has its own life. The NPCs carrying umbrellas and running to shelter when it rains. The way people get hurt and react to the spot you shot them. The car damage and the way tires deflate. How it feels like the cars are actually different. There was just so much attention to detail.
1:16:47 I'll never get over how good this line delivery is. It just hits different considering how unfazed and calm Niko had been for most of the story up until that point.
Um no, Playboy is a bad person He did nothing for Dwayne while he was inside prison, the only reason why Dwayne never got much after he was released is because he got nothing left, Playboy gave him nothing and he legit did business with his rivals hence why Dwayne's club was taken over
Also it’s implied that Playboy turned in Dwayne. He takes over all of his assets and his apartment (Dwayne still has the key he just doesn’t want to evict playboy or cause conflict). Playboy never payed him a visit and he pretends to be happy to see Dwayne out of prison but says to Niko that he wasn’t expecting him almost like it’s a bad thing. Playboy and Dwayne are the same as Faustin and Dimitri. Dimitri betrays his longtime friend and takes his assets, playboy betrays Dwayne and takes his assets. The choice to kill either of them is rockstars way of seeing if you’ve learned your lesson and if you’re going to choose the morally correct choice
@@mikelitorous5570I don’t think Playboy turned in Dwayne there’s a whole mission dedicated to Niko killing the guy who actually ratted Dwayne out. Playboy just took advantage of Dwayne going to prison and became selfish, greedy and ungrateful towards Dwayne
@@mikelitorous5570 It wasnt playboy, playboy basically disregarded and assumed Dwayne was never going to get out. It was the guy who was dating dwayne's girl behind his back that ratted him out. Also, Faustin was a sociopath, but a loyal and fair one. The true problem was Dmitri, who was actually a true psychopath who manipulated and corrupted Faustin. Niko just happened to be the perfect guy he could use to kill Faustin and take over his operation. Even leaving his wife and daughter penniless.
Two things: The ending where roman lives is cannon because in GTA V you can find his Life Invader Page indicating that he's alive. Also the annihilator helicopter is based off UH-60 Black Hawk more specifically the MH-60L, not an apache.
this game has the most ridiculously amazing physics iv ever seen in a video game. just for that u will play for hours and hours. whoever designed it, is an absolute fkn GENIUS!!!!!
He prob thought it was a small role and wasn’t a well known voice actor so this would be good to get his foot in the door. Once he found out it was for GTA the biggest franchise in gaming he was prob pissed for the cut of the pie he got.
Wow, playing this game as a middle schooler, I never fully grasped the more mature themes of these stories. I understood parts of it, like how the American dream failed Niko and Roman, but damn. There’s so much more. Shoulda played through the story again but throughout the years I only come back to GTA 4 just to free roam. Loved reliving these stories with this video! First time to the channel and I loved this super cut! Time to binge the rest of your videos lol thanks!
@@eriksipos373 idk to me it doesn't feel like it's understeer most the times it feels like I spin out too easily because there's a lot of oversteer, and that feeling of oversteer or understeer changes a lot based on what car you're using because a lot of the cars handle much differently than each other, but it starts to become pretty easy to balance out once you get really good at the games driving mechanics
@@eriksipos373 Yeah, I've never understood why people say it's "realistic" 🤣 I guess compared to the older games, it's a little "more realistic" but the understeer is totally overboard lmao. The reason I love the driving in this game is all about the physics. The cars actually have weight. They lurch and lean and bounce and wobble. And every single one feels different than the other. THAT is where the "realistic" really comes in for me. Not to mention the vehicle damage and deformation, which I still think IV has done the best of any game. The mechanics are quirkly, but every GTA game has some kind of quirk to its driving. Like how every car in V handles like a sports car, and every car in III handles like it's made of plastic 😆
Honestly, approaching the driving closer to the way you would in real life, seems to yield better results. Like using the left trigger brake to control speed approaching/entering a corner
I'm in the camp that prefers IV's driving physics, and I dunno about you, but I think that many people that feel this way generally play racing sims, or at least more racing games. With that, background its understandable that you'd generally feel more satisfaction with conquering the learning curve. I approached it imagining the driving line from Gran Turismo 3 and 4, and Project Gotham and that helped me understand how/when to brake and the apex to approach turns when you're gonna speed (given traffic isn't obstructing) and I picked it up quick, and loved and appreciated something more akin to what I'd call a semi-realistic handling system. I loved it so much that it became a benchmark with which I compared everything else too for years. I grew up loving the Renderware trilogy, but due to a background of loving car games, IV's handling has always been such a joy. I was really happy for the upgrade in systems that came along with RAGE and Euphoria. So, of course with that background. First time in a car in V was such a legitimate sinking heart feeling. There's just no other way to put it. When you saw the prior installment had improved upon something and fell in love with it, the handling in V was to me, a downgrade. Rockstar only did this to make the game more accessible. As sadly, it's niche for someone to want vehicles to handle with realism. Makes me wish that they had implemented a system like Mafia III did. It didn't feel nearly as good as GTA IV, but in the options there was a setting that gave vehicles handling characteristics that were either arcadey, or realistic. Would have been extra work though, so no dice. Fans of realism just lose.
The way I always chose to handle the relationships in the game is that after Michelle betrays Niko I date kiki then Carmen and depending on what version I'm playing on and if it's available I'll date Alex. I move on from each girl after doing a few missions and then by the 3rd half of the game I start dating Kate more regularly so it feels alot more like Niko has gone through enough relationships that this one feels more real and the ending then makes more sense when he decides to make it official with her
Anytime I think of this game I hear the line "did you walk here from 1985?". I played an excessive amount of this game when it came out. I got close to 100% this video gives me incredible nostalgia
Same my grandpa died around the release and I sunk so much time into this Game to cope with the loss to this day music in this takes me back in good ways and in bad ways. That loss fucked me up mentally for a solid ten years it's been nearly 16 now in better place but scars remain
I’ve played all the gtas and still 15 years later this GTA was my favourite the jump from GTA SA to 4 was outstanding it looked like real life the cars felt amazing the characters like Playboy, Dwayne, Roman, Patrick and Jacob felt so real the guns felt amazing this will always be my Favourite GTA game and I hope it’s remastered soon after GTA 6
Yea might be fucked but I kinda liked it, in the way that that's just how life is. Someone can have an incredible story and just end up dead at the hands of some psycho. Or a car crash. Or just heart failure. Life is rough and it showed a realistic ending for him
@@yeetithceetith But it's not realistic. Johnny being back with Ashley and being in Los Santos in general is completely out-of-character and undos every thing that happened in GTA 4. It's literally the "The Last Jedi" Luke Skywalker moment, before this moment was a thing.
@@LegioXXI Johnny totally went on a meth/Peyote fuelled spirit quest, met Truth and Mike Toreno from the alternate 'classic' universe there, got told about area 69 in SA. Sobered up, broke in and had a clone made. His clone, being dumber and less willful than the original, reformed the Lost MC and entered into a drug-cuckoldry with Ashley and later died because it unwisely tried to confront Trevor. Johnny, free from all charges, debts, fines, etc due to his 'death' is enjoying life somewhere. This is absolutely true, I was the peyote. For real though, they legit invalidated basically the whole L&D storyline and kinda nut-shot anyone remotely invested in Johnny.
@@LegioXXIHonestly as much as I hate to admit it it’s a realistic ending for Johnny. Johnny lost his best friend, killed his other best friend after he tried to sell him out and his chapter got reduced to only a handful of members because of a civil war. The dude went through a lot and probably wanted to leave Alderney behind to start anew. So he formed a new gang in Sandy Shores and with Jim being gone the next person he’d be closest to is Ashley. And Ashley being the horrible influence she is likely got Johnny addicted to drugs which Johnny took because he likely felt so depressed and empty as well as feeling closer to Ashley. And that’s true to life, sometimes people end up as a shadow of their former selves when they cling onto the wrong people. But that’s not what ruined Johnny to me. What ruined him and his story was in the mission Friends Reunited you can hear some members of the Lost talking and they basically go “Johnny was weak Billy wasn’t a snitch and he wouldn’t have let this happen he’s a real leader”. Rockstar really ruined Johnny and his legacy in one sentence making his dlc entirely pointless as Billy’s legacy is applauded while Johnny’s is pissed on
34:15-34:34 It isn't even worrying about destruction, for me. It's worrying about losing the car because the next mission requires you to use a different vehicle, and your old one despawns. GTA V handled this issue really well by marking your vehicles as personal, so they'll always spawn nearby when you finish a mission.
I think you're right about the game being patched. I don't remember being hit up by Roman to go bowling constantly. In my most recent play through i don't think roman asked me to do that even once
I love this game. A somewhat more realistic take on a very fictional gangster game. Many times I find myself just driving and exploring the map. It feels alive and how diverse it is.
I have been replaying GTA 4 on PC for the first time since 2008 or -09 whenever it was released on PS3 and X360, and while the story is subjective to criticism, l have to say, playing this game again after all these years on PC in upscaled 4k resolution with the Vulkan framerate fix to hit solid 60fps all the time (the physics go wonky if you dont cap the framerate to 60), l was more enjoying the gameworld, the city itself. My god it is beautiful even to this day.
The reason why GTAIV is the best GTA to ever come out, is because of how dark it's story is. These games are about the criminal underworld, where a LOT of fucked up, and sad shit happens. Also, the most likeable character in any GTA game, is Niko Bellic, because you can sense by his personality, and talent, that this guy could've been anything, and could've been a decent man, but was dealt a pretty bad hand in life, and made even worse by his regrettable decisions. He feels different from any other character in the series, where they (Claude, Tommy, and CJ) chose this life, whereas in Niko's case, it feels like he was dragged into it, and then dragged down even further, to a point where Niko knew that he was in too deep, to ever change his course in life.
@@paulholman2841 It's difficult to make GTA game for children, unless all you know about the series is fact you can shoot, and you miss every reference to real world as well as whole story
This was the very first "serious" game I ever played and I absolutely loved it then and still do now. I wasn't a fan of GTA 5 and went back to 4 a few days after I finished 5 and still love it. I actually have been really wanting to play 4 again.
When i just started college, i finally got an old used xbox360 and this was the first game i ever played on it. I loved the hell out of this game. I got so good at the driving by challenging myself to floor it across the city over and over without hitting anything.
It's cool to see the build-up of three playable protagonists in GTA. First GTA San Andreas was supposed to have three playable protagonists but it was scrapped during the development, then GTA IV had the main story plus two new playable characters in its respective DLCs and then later GTA V with 3 playable protagonists with connected stories and a switcher that makes switching between fluid and smooth.
Gta4 is the pinnacle of the franchise, but Niko,Luis and Johnny are essentially the same guy if you look at them closely. Or actually even at a glance. Furthermore several other main male characters too closely resemble each other. Funnily enough Roman and Niko dont look similar at all despite being related.
Demonetized for language? Really? I've seen so many channels keep monetization, despite the same language. I swear, the way youtube enforces its rules seems so arbitrary.
I feel you. The original trilogy is still really fun to me. But I got sick of 5 very quickly after the story. I went back to it every couple of months to try to squeeze some fun out of it but it would only last for a few hours. I’ve since uninstalled it to make room for other games.
Nah watching his videos is unbearable. Guy acts like he's talking to a dumb kid, repeating everything multiple times, overanalyzing a lot of stuff etc.
I believe what happened with Billy during the Triad mission is that he set it up to look like he got caught when it's entirely possible he turned himself in, after all he does turn state against the gang
I'll never forget all the time I spent running around the penthouse apartment jumping over the concrete wall between the bedroom and living room as I talked to my friends in the Xbox party chat lol.
I think San Andreas was a special game and anything after it would struggle. I always loved GTA IV as the biggest critiques seemed to be people who sucked at driving. I enjoyed the driving and felt it was a great addition to the series, they changed it back because of all the complaints from people who can't control cars. I agree though that GTA V really helped you appreciate GTA IV better. Niko is the best protagonist imo.
Been watching all your videos . Watched the vice city one yesterday. You have a great narrator voice and give a lot of context while tossing in your own opinion in a subtle way. Good job , Im a fan 👍🏽
This was a great video good job! You got my sub and 👍 good job, I just vicariously re played GTA 4 and the DLC by watching this video front to back haha, Awesome content
My biggest gripe with the whole main game story and its episodes is that I can't stand the lack of closure Niko gets with Bulgarin. I know he gets his just desserts in The Ballad of Gay Tony, but I am just irked how much the game builds up his power, reach, and want for vengeance against Niko, only for him to show up in 2 missions which are *very* far apart from each other, and then he just disappears from the game. I know the Episodes DLC adds more context and fill in some gaps for a more complete story with interesting crossovers, but when I finished the base game and the game tells me I won, I really thought I was missing something. I was like "Shouldn't Niko still be living in fear of Bulgarin?" I didn't play The Ballad of Gay Tony until a few years later, and things made sense after that, but the lack of Bulgarin's demise being known to Niko was just so weird to me. I don't even remember if the in-game news articles/broadcasts mention anything about it, as niche as those expositions are since many probably don't seek them out, and I have no clue if everything in the Episodes story was ironed out for them to even spoil that news for players in the base game. I'm probably fighting a losing, useless argument since the DLC covers it, but in the base game I just really felt like one of the antagonists was just forgotten by everyone, and I was genuinely confused and frustrated. I agree with what you said about him at 1:10:40
I think your idea about a Lost and the Damned prequel could be really cool. Some sort of post-'Nam biker brotherhood with a Rambo-esque character would be an interesting hybrid between GTA and Red Dead.
As someone who was bought GTA as a random top down arcade game by my parents, it's truly incredible to see how far it's come, especially now with the new trailer it really blows me away. GTA 4 at release was a real event, such a great feeling city, the driving, moving and shooting mechanics felt so fluid at the time and I still love the slow roll of vehicles in the corners to this day, it was a unique driving experience, although gta 5 did this better it lost the feeling of real weight to the vehicles which was a shame.
The driving was batter in IV.. better sense of weight, better suspension, realistic damage, and there was technique to driving just like you do in the real world
A little thing a noticed about Michelle is at the start of the game she asks a suspicious amount of questions to get as much info out of niko as possible. I love the little details like this sprinkled throughout these games
1:29:16 Its confirmed in an easter egg in GTA V that the Revenge Ending is canon, you can find Laptops with Niko's LifeInvader page which shows him posting about living in Liberty City, Roman is on his family tab on LifeInvader, he lives in Bohan and he works at Bellic cab services showing that he's living a straight life after GTA 4 along with Roman and Mallorie. To address Dimitri, there's multiple signs within the story that show he's a psychopath, the whole betrayl out of the blue makes a lot more sense with things like hidden phone calls as well as his manipulative dialogue with and concerning Faustin, there's a whole 1 hour video by The Professional which really picks apart his character if you want to know more. TL;DR: Dimirti wants to appear like the smart man so he can manipulate you into killing Faustin and taking over, he screws you over so the guy who killed Faustin is out of the picture entirely. Bulgarin being in that one cutscene makes no sense, I still have no clue why he's in the story when they do nothing with him until TBOGT. Oh, and Peggorino is just a massive idiot, it shows in his dialogue, what kind of smart guy picks up random dudes on the street and says "wanna be part of my criminal organisation"? Awesome analysis! I get GTA IV isn't up to everyone's tastes but I'm a huge nerd and its one of my favourite games of all time.
Dude gta 4 was miles better than gta 5. Especially the gunplay. I passed level after level with the Glock alone with minimal damage. Utilize that half squeeze aim Mechanic. It was perfection. Body armor on enemies or not mean nothing with a headshot. Most of my kills were headshots. GTA 4. I miss this game so much.😢😢😢
You receive a call for Francis to kill a drug dealer, you can easily kill him at the distance with a sniper rifle, even that cause that the all gang began to shoot at you and call the immediately attention of the police, this wasn't the way that the mission was plan to be intended to play, but you can spare the gangsters if you want.
I don’t think you said Luis Lopez was in the Military, for a part of his backstory. Not a big issue really, but for me that was one of the initial reasons I related to Luis and he was my favorite character of all GTA Games. Your videos are really great though, I watched most your GTA videos this week and been hooked on your channel bro! And thank you for making these videos and taking us on a trip down memory lane in detail!
As a PC owner, I didn't have a computer powerful enough to run this game at the time of the release, so I had to wait a few years (and bought Episodes of Liberty City in the meantime). When I upgraded my PC to run The Witcher 3, I finally played GTA IV and I had mixed feelings about the mechanics of being able to stumble around (especially when drunk) and being able to fall down the stairs, so I left the game. The following weekend, I went to a cinema with my bandmates to see a new movie starring Keanu Reeves: "John Wick". Halfway through the movie, it clicked for me - I just needed to shoot as John Wick did: first shot to destabilize, the follow-up to kill. Went home, booted up my PC and had the time of my life, with virtual bullets flying through the air.
Yeah if you just fly into every turn full speed, cut the wheel, and rip the e brake of course you’re going to hate the driving. The cars handle realistically, you can’t just make tight turns on city streets at 100mph in a minivan. If that’s what you’re looking for, play GTA 5. The controls aren’t bad, it just requires more skill.
Ive played the GTA games from 3 onwards throughout my life and your incredible, funny and insightful videos are a great way for me to catch up with the stories again! Thank you so much for putting up such amazing content!
I very much enjoyed the entirety of GTA IV, you may not consider it a masterpiece but I definitely do. It started off the HD era, and I didn't want things to be too wacky and funny, though I'll agree that they didn't strike a good balance between seriousness and humor. I do miss it from time to time and I'm glad I have the game and it's two DLCs on digital so I can always go back to them. On another note, I'm wondering if you've covered Metal Gear Solid, if you haven't I'd be curious to see your retrospective on it.
I know some of the characters could've been fleshed out more and the missions are pretty scripted but i just loved Niko, the gameplay which made me feel like John Wick, and the storyline.
I remembered my cousin had this game and had just the base storyline then online would show me some glitches/tricks too. I think my fave glitch would been going underneath the map and be somehow in helicopter. Great times plus miss my cousin a lot and wish he could show me that again.
So UA-cam instituted new sweeping rules on videos using profanity and violence.... Pretty much overnight. And this is retroactive to the beginning of time. So now, MILLIONS of videos suddenly became demonetized and/or age restricted. Seemed to surprise a lot of creators. So, here's another watch from me, hopefully it helps, even a little. Hang in there, I can imagine this won't last too long.
1:29:25 On my first playthrough a few years ago, I actually did the deal ending first. Listening to Romans phone call I honestly just thought ''you know what... you're right Roman... I'll listen to you this time and leave this behind'' I should've never listened to Roman...
I still remember being hyped for this after the epic trailer, which took a cpl minutes to load if I remember. I'm one of those that absolutely loved this game and it's brilliant DLC. Still prefer it over 5, never mind Rockstar milking the online stuff.
Thank you for the great video. I want to add for GTA IV, that from a moral point of view the Vlad missions were the first, in which money was exchanged for violence done to innocent people. The missions before it was in a self defense capacity. Nico could have killed Vlad before his missions. If Nico was doing what he preached, he could just get a normal, moral job, and nobody innocent would have been harmed. I really like Niko, but he is one of the people, who destroys everybodys life, he comes across. And money is certainly more important for him than morals. But he lures someone with his nice character into thinking he is a good guy doing his best.
These videos are awesome to listen to. Great tone, great pace, good comments and you do an incredible job summarizing most missions and stuff. Even the cutscenes are kept to a minimum and only to emphasize your comments (or highlight jokes). The only thing I was bothered about was the gameplay. Between the obnoxious aim bot you had and you shooting more walls than enemies it was pretty hard to watch for a tryhard pc player. I've watched almost all the original trilogy videos and it was the same. It's that one tidbit but I wanted to know if I was the only one to notice heh. I'll keep this whole series of videos for my go to game videos to listen to while working.

I find the weight of Kates death to be really heavy, not for Niko, but for Patrick and his mom. All her sons are dying and now her daughter, the only good one dies as well. I found that super depressing as a kid.
It is
I wouldn’t be surprised if Packie’s mom died shortly after the story of a heartbreak.
Um no, Playboy is a bad person
He did nothing for Dwayne while he was inside prison, the only reason why Dwayne never got much after he was released is because he got nothing left, Playboy gave him nothing and he legit did business with his rivals hence why Dwayne's club was taken over
Also it’s implied that Playboy turned in Dwayne.
Two things:
The ending where roman lives is cannon because in GTA V you can find his Life Invader Page indicating that he's alive.

The VAs for the main cast put in so much work for this game
Sad nikos actor didn’t get paid much now he’s on bad terms within rockstar but seriously tho 100,000 for a big character is mind blowing
He prob thought it was a small role and wasn’t a well known voice actor so this would be good to get his foot in the door. Once he found out it was for GTA the biggest franchise in gaming he was prob pissed for the cut of the pie he got.

I actually liked the driving in this game
Felt real and new
Really put into perspective it was next gen
It’s not particularly realistic, all the cars in the game understeer like fuck whereas irl most cars won’t understeer like they do in this game
@@eriksipos373 Yeah, I've never understood why people say it's "realistic" 🤣
I guess compared to the older games, it's a little "more realistic" but the understeer is totally overboard lmao.
@@_KRoseThat depends on the cars IMO. But I honestly call it realistic because of the way the car's body moves and it's weight shifts
Sucks about the demonetization, fingers cross this one stays ok this time!!
GTA4’s handling is amazing compared to any other GTA games. I can go from Asseto Corsa, Forza or GT to GTA 4 and not really skip a beat.
Pretty fucked what they did to Johnny.
@@LegioXXI true, I guess I mean realistic in the sense that shit happens in crazy ways but he had no reason to be in LS
Rockstar really ruined Johnny and his legacy in one sentence making his dlc entirely pointless as Billy’s legacy is applauded while Johnny’s is pissed on
34:15-34:34
It isn't even worrying about destruction, for me. It's worrying about losing the car because the next mission requires you to use a different vehicle, and your old one despawns. GTA V handled this issue really well by marking your vehicles as personal, so they'll always spawn nearby when you finish a mission.
Ya only gotta use em for side missions and mf bounties n shit, it's ridiculous
👍 Niko really does feel like a normal guy. Whereas all the other protagonists feel like forces of nature. Niko feels the most vulnerable.
Dark story of GTA IV is the reason why it's the worst GTA game
@@fchmaster4669 That's your opinion . . . It's my favorite GTA for that reason, because it was not a subject matter created for children.

Will always be my favorite gta of all time… so many memories from my childhood
Demonetized for language? Really? I've seen so many channels keep monetization, despite the same language. I swear, the way youtube enforces its rules seems so arbitrary.
I feel you. The original trilogy is still really fun to me. But I got sick of 5 very quickly after the story. I went back to it every couple of months to try to squeeze some fun out of it but it would only last for a few hours. I’ve since uninstalled it to make room for other games.
you should see The Professional's breakdown of Dimitri's character to learn why he truly betrayed Niko

I was like "Shouldn't Niko still be living in fear of Bulgarin?"
I didn't play The Ballad of Gay Tony until a few years later, and things made sense after that, but the lack of Bulgarin's demise being known to Niko was just so weird to me.
I agree with what you said about him at 1:10:40
Dang niko executing you is so powerful it makes you scream in a whole different voice
auto shotgun with explosive rounds is the best weapon in all the GTA games
I think your idea about a Lost and the Damned prequel could be really cool. Some sort of post-'Nam biker brotherhood with a Rambo-esque character would be an interesting hybrid between GTA and Red Dead.
Nice man, thanks for the content! Giving this a download and gonna listen to it at work.
Ashley’s character progression is crazy
More like regression.

Agreed. I personally think it's the best driving of all the games. Once you master it, it feels so damn good.

I'm still playing this again in 2023 thanks to steam. And I'm about the first quarter into the story.
The MGS Snake Eater theme while climbing the ladder? Absolute golden touch 😂
