The explanation of each round is the most comprehensive that I have stumbled on as a beginner wanting to learn this far. Thank you for making the instructions very clear with slow movements that allows me to follow with comprehension of what your doing without rewinding several times. I am a follower now and can't wait to see more of your beautiful work and illustrations/demo's.
My very first daily ever. It was a bit frustrating getting used to the string verses yarn but once I got the knack I did fine. Thanks for the tutorial. Following you was easy.
Thank you for your tutorial. Very well done. I have never made a doily because I thought it would be hard, but you explained it very well. Thank you. After looking at your tutorial, I ran to Michael's and bought some yarn and needles.😆
Sally that’s so great!! Have fun making lots of doilies! I have a couple other tutorials and plan to add more in the future. They are so beautiful! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Just finished making this doily, I haven’t done any crocheting for a while. I always love the way you show and explain. Mine does have a few screw ups but I think it looks pretty good. I’m going to try and make another one with thinner yarn.

What a lovely video. You explained things very well and you have a very calming voice. The end result was beautiful. I'll definitely be making this. Thank You for sharing, I'm subscribing.xx
Ms. Martinez while I find your instructions to be very easy to follow. I have to say trying to crochet a doily with lace weight yarn, and a 3.5mm needle to be incredibly hard. Mind you I have not done any crochet in close to 40 years. But it is something I want to do, is to crochet at least one doily, so do you have a tip that might make it a bit easier to do? Mind you, the 3.5mm needle is the smallest one I have.
+GenderSkins I completely understand! Maybe try my newest doily video out. It can be done in a thicker yarn a bigger hook as it is designed to also be a rug. I'm so happy to hear you want to get back to crochet!! Have a wonderful day. Thank you for watching and commenting!! Link. ua-cam.com/video/rgYUxDp1_zw/v-deo.html
I can do that Ms. Martinez but I am not sure how much help that would be, for lace weight yarn which is size 0 and thus smaller then the size 3 mentioned in the video. So I may need to come up with a couple of smaller needles, or some larger yarn. As from what research I have done, I may need a 1.5mm needle for lace weight yarn.
Really cute! I'm wondering why in the 3rd round you started the trebbles in the 1st st of the chain (instead of slipping into 1st chain, then slipping into 2nd and starting there) like you did the remainder (in the 2nd chain) of the round? Really curious if there's a reason or if I can just do it like I explained to make it more even.
Is there a place that have the pattern. I love how we can see so clearly what you are doing. I feel like I am learning again with my Mom. Thanking her for teaching me that when I was just 10. I want to do Dream Catchers. This would be perfect. I will check your blog!!!

It looks like you skip two chains in the 2nd round. It that right? After you did the first chain of 5.

This is so cute! I want to make it too! Which yarn did you use for the white doily?
+daantjeve1 I used a Bernat thread yarn. I think it is a 3? I lost the paper casing! 😕
Thank you for watching and commenting
Jonna Martinez Thanks! Size 3 yarn seems big to me to use with a 1.75 mm crochet hook. But maybe I'm wrong.
+daantjeve1 I guess I mean size 3 thread. Threads have category's too but I'm not well versed in them......
Jonna do you make a table runner
Hi Jonna, I just went to get doily thread today, Is there an easier doily? I am a beginner in doilies.
+Barbara Back this is my only dolly video right now. I hope to crochet another one soon.

Hi Jonna. I was asked to make a doily between 19 and 22 inches. Do you have a video for something like this? Or could you make one and add onto this one to make it bigger? Thanks, Noelle 😊
Yes you could use worsted weight yarn and an F or G hook. Then it would be larger.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Jonna Martinez Thank you for your reply. I'll give it a shot! 😊
One more question. Do you know the diameter of the purple doily you made here?
I sold it so I can’t run and measure but I believe it was between 10 & 12 “

Jonna, what is the sizes of the doilies in inches?
+Lucy Trotta it was between 10" and 12" it has since found another home so I cannot run and measure it. Thank you for watching and commenting
Thanks almost finished with it.
I used a size bigger needle 2.75 and my size doily was 9"
Thank u very much for replying. 1 last question is using a 2.75 needle too big for a size 5 crochet thread. Thanks
It all depends on how comfortable you are with it. If it feels good and you like how it’s looking keep going, if not adjust your hook size.

Thank you so much
