The comment with the spine being slightly stiff was sooo helpful. Thank you!!

I just bought a set of paragons and I love them. 30 meter bareshaft tuned right in the group. Moved to 70 meters and they fly so well. Then just for fun I decided to try my bareshafts at 70 meters. With a nice group of fletcher arrow in the gold, all 3 of my bareshafts were just a little high. Simply put...amazing arrows

The 400 spine skylon reacting stiffer than the 380 on the x10 would be because of the thinner back section on the x10. The x10 will show up as stiffer on a static spine test but when shot out of a bow it will react weaker.

Max Verwoerdt currently shoots these at high level archery tournaments. They're definitely some of the best arrows out there, especially for the price.

Just to clearify. X-10 are barreled/tapered/3-spine shaft helps cull some of the bad shots. Compared to a straight pure carbon shaft like Skylon Preminens they will not be as forgiving and keep the arrow in yellow on bad release . Also Preminens are 1 grain per inch lighter that's around 30 grains depending on how long your shafts are. So you get smidge better FOC and lighter arrow with the Preminens. Lighter arrow means faster arrow also. These thin arrows work well at long range. Short to medium range i rather run a ultralight shaft with around 5gpi and go for speed instead of thin heavy arrows and less consideration is taken to sidewinds.

Something I noticed on the Skylon webpage is that depending on what chart you view they are recommending different stiffness. If I look for 36-40# at 28" draw I get Group A5 in both charts, but in one of the charts Group 5 reads "Recurve 750, Compound 700" the other one Group 5 reads "Recurve 700-650, Compound 600". Considering the observations in the video, maybe go for the higher/softer spine.

I think I prefer these/the paragons to the X10 because a carbon-alu shaft will bend ever so slightly and then that .0015" straightness is out the window. I want to compete with the same arrows that I practice with and I don't want to constantly replace such an expensive shaft as the X10. The Paragons are one third of the price of the X10s and you can keep them for longer.
