In Yeongdo located on the south edge of central Busan, there is a village remembered for its sound.
Back in the 70s and 80s, when the village prospered with its ship-repairing industry, there was always "Kang-Kang-Kang" sound resonating across the village.
It is a sound of hammering by shipyard workers to remove rust and shellfish from the boats that come into the shipyard.
The sound now has become the origin of the name of the village, "KANGKANGEE."

Such an amazing piece, it is so touching to see how this village, instead of fading away, is flourishing with so many colors an human warmth. It's just fitting to its history and it is a great example of how respect and good will can transform an apparently gray landscape into a beautiful oasis for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you so much for sharing, I have another place I want to visit added to my list.

Very nice surprise. The village is really a remarkable proof how fascinating power of ingenuity, will and people's immense love for their home and community can create genuine wonders. Great footage, interviews and Jessica's conclusion! They said it all about one of Busan's hidden gems and extremely grueling work at the shipyard!
Refreshing video form. Like a documentary well adapted for YT. What's the source of the introductory footage? It's very beautiful.
Take care of your ears next time, Jessica! ^ ^
