The physical book, this audiobook, and this animation was actually my first encounter with Warhammer 40k, and that's what brought me into the medium. It's also why the black tempers are, and will always be my favorite space marine chapter ever. I freaking love this story!

From my understanding the art style and clarity of it it’s supposed to represent Grimaldus’s mental state. From the uncertainty at his new position and depression over the death of his mentor, to the clarity and purpose he gains in battle, to the guilt at surviving and he loss of his men and friends

The dude waddling with the mechanical arm in is eye is a human servant that has been lobotomized and turn into a basic robot called a servitor.

Rewatching this little gem I'm always impressed how well TTS captured Helbrechts voice, "WERGH!" hahaha
the point of view oif the imperium can be summed up in one of my favorite quotes:

I just want to point out something. You can see the quality of the video improving as our protagonist advances through the story. That's because the quality of the video reflects his mental state. At first wondering why he was being sent here, was he being punished?, to finding strength, purpose and himself along the way. By the time of the final battle he had a clear purpose and drive. And at the end, once more back to being troubled, distraught, broken, given his survivor guilt... But this was the beginning and birth of a legend among the Black Templars, that of Grimaldus, an absolute beast

No. Space marines literally do not think in any romantic or sexual manner. ESPECIALLY Black Templar, which is what Grimaldus is. He was thinking he wanted to see the results of the explosion... But *also* he knew that if the door remained closed when the wave hit? The woman would have hit the door and with the force and impact? Look at the speed she flew out at. She would have literally been a stain on the wall of the inside of the ship.
I didn't really have respect for your warhammer reactions(cuz i thought you weren't serious) until i saw this 3 hour vid, I owe you my apology, you got an honest life sub.

Any one checking the comments first do not watch this,they added over a hr to the movie by pausing every minute or so and constantly talking and asking questions they would actually know the answers to if they paid attention to what was happening,and they simply treat 40k as a joke pathetic wannnabe cash in on 40k popularity,much much better helsreach reactions out there helsreach
