A reason for the many cuts is that the characters on screen are supposed to represent the players. Focusing just on an Undead Warlock or an Orc Warrior wouldn't do anything for someone wanting to play a Blood-Elf Priest or Night Elf Hunter. The main character in the earlier versions of the game was the WORLD of warcraft. So they show you many different parts. This one had a character from the Warcraft games talking, so that was enough for players at the time.

These are not just honors, but a mark of his extraordinary feats. Despite the lack of the Iron Halo, Titus is still recognized by the Emperor, a sign of his special status. The Emperor’s voice called to him in Space Marine 2, saying, “Rise, Son of Guilliman,” even as Titus lay dying. This moment is significant because, in a time when the Emperor is “dead,” to hear his voice means Titus is someone truly exceptional-blessed and chosen for a purpose far beyond ordinary duty. It marks him as an individual of immense importance to the Imperium, which only adds to the suspicion surrounding him: Is he blessed or cursed? As they move deeper into the planet’s heart, the marines encounter Tzaangors, twisted mortals who have bargained with Chaos and been altered into grotesque bird-like creatures. Though still mortal, the Tzaangors are powerful, and their blue blood marks them as slaves to Tzeentch, far from ordinary men. But the true threat lies ahead, as the marines eventually come face to face with the Sorcerer-enshrined in a cocoon attached to the Apostate Relic they’ve destroyed. The Sorcerer is no mere mortal. His powers, fueled by Tzeentch’s dark influence, are beyond anything the marines have faced thus far. But it’s not just his raw power that makes him dangerous-it’s his ability to manipulate the minds of those around him. The Sorcerer’s influence starts subtly. The first marine to fall under his control is overtaken by self-doubt. Trapped in a mental prison, his armored version holds the unarmored version of him by the head, lifting him off the ground. In this twisted vision, the Sorcerer forces him to crush his own skull. The mental manipulation is so powerful that it makes the marine bleed from his helmet as his skull shatters. The moment is shocking-not just because of the grotesque death, but because it shows the Sorcerer's complete control over his victims, bending them to his will and twisting their own minds into instruments of destruction. The second marine’s death is less visually detailed, but the result is the same-he simply falls, lifeless. However, it is Metaurus, Titus’ mentor, who undergoes the most profound manipulation. The Sorcerer’s eye enters Metaurus’ vision and forces him to see only what the Sorcerer wants him to see, amplifying his doubts and fears. Metaurus begins to question his decisions and falters in his judgment, falling into the Sorcerer's mental grip. The Sorcerer exploits Metaurus’ own deep fear of Titus-fear that Titus might one day fall to Chaos. It’s this fear that the Sorcerer feeds upon, manipulating Metaurus into a paralyzing state of despair. Titus, however, is different. As the Sorcerer attempts to invade his mind, the eye that represents the Sorcerer’s influence takes over his vision. But it doesn’t fully open as it does with the others. Titus is aware of the manipulation, his willpower keeping him strong. The Sorcerer realizes, too late, that Titus is immune to his influence. Instead of being a tool of Chaos, Titus stands firm, unshaken by the fear and doubt the Sorcerer is trying to instill. Titus’ resistance is so complete that the Sorcerer, for the first time, is forced to face his own vulnerability. In that moment, Titus’ strength becomes undeniable, and he shatters the Sorcerer's staff, breaking the time-stopping illusion. The Sorcerer attempts to flee, but Titus is relentless. Grabbing the staff, he crushes it with his bare hands, freeing his brother Metaurus from the Sorcerer’s manipulation. When the Sorcerer tries to take flight, Titus leaps into action, drawing his knife and slicing the Sorcerer down with brutal efficiency. It’s a moment of pure domination-Titus, the one man who could not be corrupted, standing victorious over one of the most dangerous agents of Chaos. At the end of the mission, the marines are told to “Die Well, brothers.” It’s a final, somber acknowledgment that their mission was likely a suicide operation from the start. Metaurus, having accepted this inevitable fate, faces death with a grim resignation. But Titus refuses to submit. His unyielding will, the same strength that protected him from Chaos’ influence, refuses to accept death as the final answer. Even in the face of overwhelming odds, Titus’ determination to survive and protect those around him shines through. He is the embodiment of the Emperor’s will, a hero who will never bow to death or Chaos. Then, just as Metaurus seems to have given in to despair, Titus looks at him and says, "Not today, old man." The words, though simple, are weighted with meaning. As a child, Titus had once stood before Metaurus, bloodied and fearless, telling him to "Get out of my way, old man." Back then, they were strangers-Titus was just a boy with an unnatural lack of fear, and Metaurus was an Astartes who could not yet understand what kind of warrior the boy would become. But now, after everything, those same words return-not as a challenge, not as defiance, but as a promise. A promise that Titus is here, that he will save them, and that this is not the end. With Metaurus wounded and barely clinging to life, Titus steps forward. Before them, an army is approaching-a massive force meant to ensure their deaths. But Titus does not waver. He does not hesitate. He walks toward the oncoming horde, his blade in hand, prepared to face them alone if necessary. Because no matter how impossible the odds, Titus will endure. He will fight. And he will win. As Metaurus watches Titus stride toward the enemy, he finds himself thinking back to the day he first met the boy. The child who stood bloodied before him, utterly unafraid, dragging a Space Marine combat knife behind him. Back then, he had asked himself a question, though it was filled with uncertainty-perhaps even fear. What could a child like that be capable of? Now, as he watches Titus, battered but unbroken, moving toward an entire army without hesitation, Metaurus understands the answer. And this time, when the thought returns, it is not filled with dread. There is no fear. Because now, he knows. Titus will never fall to Chaos. His will is unbreakable. Unstoppable. And as the first enemies begin to charge, as Titus raises his weapon, as the battle is about to begin once more-Metaurus knows with absolute certainty now that Titus is truly incorruptible and will do great things for Mankind and the Imperium.

Many space marines chapters can have many different races. Ultramarines have an empire (within the Imperium) of 500 worlds. So absolutely you can have black Ultramarines alongside Titus. The Salamanders chapter is 100% all black - no exceptions. It depends on the space marines chapter. Raven Guard are all albino white. I'd say most space marines chapters are a mix of races because of the worlds they recruit from / their own home world. Some chapters like the Thousand sons are all brown / olive skin color. Some like the Salamanders are all black. Some like the Raven Guard or Blood Angels are all white. Just depends. But it really doesn't matter since the Melanchrome organ implanted in every space marine will change their skin color depending on the radiation. High radiation... and almost all space marines with 'turn' blacker. Low radiation, and almost all space marines will 'turn' whiter.

The guy who made Astartes was the 'cameraman' for this. Blur Studio did the animation, but he lined up all the shots. Never played Helldivers, but if they do the drop pod thing, they probably got it from 40k. No ordinary man would survive the landing of an astartes drop pod, probably half the reason the psyker was in a box, the other reason being so the forces of Chaos won't sense him. The purity seals burn in the presence of Chaos, which is responsible for Metaurus' flashback. It's also why gravity gets screwy in the hole; the warp doesn't care about physics. The psyker projects a shield to defend against psychic attacks, but is vulnerable to a mere blade; without the shield, the timestop effects the marines too. The first dies due to a form of imposter syndrome, hence THE LIE now on his armour. Metaurus fears Titus could turn to Chaos, and is thus betrayed; but Titus himself has no fear for the daemon sorceror to exploit. The staff breaks, the timestop ends, and it dies to the same blade Titus was dragging along as a child. Titus is the protagonist of the Space Marine games. This takes place after SM2.

Lieutenant Titus is nobody's shield bearer.

The big sword in the beginning was just a space marine combat knife being held by a kid. Average space Marine height is 8ft (so in the clip in the rain) Primarus space Marine height is 9-10ft. Warhammer 40k pretty much started the grim high scifi dystopian genre, so Helldivers and all the other IPs like that, are based on 40k. All the pieces of paper on the guys armor, the stuff holding it on is red wax, the paper themselves are "Purity Seals", blessed seals showing one's piety to the emperor, which also provide some protection against the taint of chaos, so when those little pieces start burning off, it is due to the dark powers being strong enough to incinerate them. (big bad mojo) So, this is also not really a fan project. It was made *with* the person who created the short film Astartes (A-Star-tease... I messed it up for a while when I first started too.), but it was in general made by a collaboration between Blur Studio and Amazon MGM Studios, the writing and such was done by the individual teams associated with the video game etc. The hand to hand combat scene between the Chaos Cultists and the Astartes kill team is so engaging because it takes advantage of a premise in the 40k universe, which is called "Transhuman Dread". We all know how a human body should move, so when we have these 9ft tall walking tanks, moving with total fluidity of motion, having sharper and faster reaction times, moving *much faster* than humans can move, having perfect awareness of the situation... Well, it just creeps us the hell out, so it us reacting to these creatures that have transcended humanity, in person you'd crap yourself, but in a video, it just pumps you up, because these human ish things are wandering through the video like super heroes.
