I've had this for over a week now and really loving it!
It really needs to be stated that this is a "compact" phone, not a "small" one. If you expect an iPhone SE/Mini or old Android sizes, you aren't getting it with this. Yet its perfectly sized to accomodate one-hand use, fit snugly in pockets without looking sus and slide into bags and sleeves like paperweight. As long as its not a 5-incher, its not going to be physically small enough as most people are expecting "compact" to be.
Anyways, the 12X can be had at bargain prices like I got it for and its a really great phone. Flagship-tier performance without the overheating from the 888 or 8Gen1, a GORGEOUS screen, wonderful main cameras (ultrawide is severely underwhelming though), excellent battery life coupled with super fast charging speeds and a zippy in-screen fingerprint scanner. A really well-rounded phone!
Main gripes are the mentioned ultrawide shots, lack of an IP rating, no SD card slot (seriously...) and the probability of a lacking software support policy. Its got Android 12 now but I highly doubt this phone will ever get 14 unless Xiaomi decides to miraculously pull the strings.
The phone's built like a beast and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like most other flagships. I would almost argue that this felt like a better buy than the S21FE. The 12X really feels solid.
Thank, and excellent comments about it! For updates, from what I heard from Xiaomi 2 years is promised, we will have to wait and see if they will go beyond that though.

This cellphone is a joy to hold! I was between this and the Iphone 13, but bought the Xiaomi 12x for USD 545 which is an ok deal for me. Tbh talking about notches in 2022 and that no-so-ergonomic feel of the Iphone 13 really does not excite me as much as seeing this phone. Moving from a Xiaomi mi 8 Lite here :D

@@fadlanaiman4737 Hey Fadlan, I am pretty satisfied. I am getting 1 day and half of battery so far if I use cellphone more. I can get even 2 days when I don't. Only problem is paying 550 USD for a phone that still did not received the Android 12 🤡

@@fadlanaiman4737 Oh my bad! I just saw it finally updated to the Android 12 haha. So we are good I will not complain anymore :D And yes, was also coming from a Xiaomi mi 8 lite! And now that I can finally pay using NFC from phone I am never bringing my waller with me ever again xD
Got it a couple days ago for $544 256GB Gray, moving from a 2018 Redmi Note 5 32GB (~$175).
As a light user who prefers compact phones this is almost spot on, I'm quite impressed and I don't think I'll need to replace it for the next 4+ years (if it lasts).

Vraagje. Ik gebruik nu een iPhone XR, maar wil graag terug naar Android. Beveel je dit toestel dan echt aan. Ik zie namelijk ook de 11t pro en deze spreekt me ook wel aan omdat het display groter is. Wat is jou gedachte hierover?

Als ik zelf eerlijk ben bevalt mij de 12x beter, betere camera, en de CPU is erg stabiel met geweldige batterij leven doordat. Maar de 11t pro is ook gewoon een net toestel, maar mijn preference gaat meer uit naar de 12x, als je een groter scherm wilt misschien kijken naar de 12 pro?

Hello! I've been contemplating about getting the 12x.. I am now using the 10t. What would you recommend?
oeeh, well in base there is some similarity, for instance the 870 is based on that 865 you have now, But I would probably say that the 12x is just a better overall phone, it feels more premium as well!
While it would not be a HUGE upgrade it would still be a nice upgrade, BUT if you can wait a bit, there might be a 13x and that could be even better because I think the Xiaomi 10t will still do you well in day to day experience and not a huge difference compared to the 12X.

@@aiyatrinquite2813 I haven't directly compared the 1, while I think it will perform better, I don't think it will be MUCH better, just better, if that makes sense?^^ wish I could compare for you, then I would really know, but it is more of a guess now.
If i more to gaming side which one is better mi10T or mi12x ?im confused as both are same price in my country,one is good ips panel with good battery,the other one is amoled not sure about 870 perfomance.what u recommend sir?
I would say 12x, it has the better 870 which in very simplistic ways is the upgraded version of the 865+.
Amoled is also much nicer, and it still has 120hz refresh rate, I know not the same as the 10t but still. But overall if you already have the 10t it is not like it will be a world of difference.

Im using the Huawei P10 Plus, but I'm looking to change. I was looking at the 12x, S21 FE, and Zenfone 8. What do you recommend? and if there are any other phones you consider looking at please let me know :)
mmmmmm So I have no experience with either the s21FE or Zenfone 8, I would say S21FE I mean if you like Samsung software that would be the reason mostly, the zenfone 8 would be pretty close in day to day experience, just some choice differences, main sensor probably a bit better on the 12x, ultra on the zenfone.
Also the Zenfone and Samsung both have an ip68 rating compared to no IP rating for the 12x.
But in turn, that SD 870 is really good! It is not an easy choice, but let me ask you: What matters most to you about a phone?
@@ThroughJermainesLens For me its mainly the camera (pictures/videos). I actually just got the phone yesterday and your reviews helped give me some more insight and the information I needed to make my decision. So far I'm very happy with my selection.

@@ThroughJermainesLens Loving it. People complain about the MIUI but I have not had any issues with it thus far. The phone itself is very fluid and runs seamlessly, the camera takes gorgeous pictures and videos, and the customizability is really nice. The phone itself is actually quite small compared to everything else on the market. In fact, its slightly smaller than my old Huawei p10 plus which is surprising. Overall. Super happy with the purchase and I recommend this phone to anyone in the market to upgrade.

Overall performance is solid, and i haven't experienced lags, you can just tell it is a heavier skin, oneplus is just a bit smoother.

Im so much confused... In between samsumg s21 fe and mi12X which one should i go for??? My purposes are
1 - playing game moderately
2- 4k video record as im gonna start vlog
3- slow motion **** [ which phone does good slow mo plz say]
I would say the 12x, great battery life and amazing CPU!!! Video recording will be pretty similar between the 2. However fingerprint scanner is better on the s21 de. And slow motion, you mean slow motion video recording?

@@ThroughJermainesLens I would get the snapdragon version and both phones are about the same price. The samsung is a little cheaper
@@WalterWhite-ne7if mmm I don't have experience with it, heard it is better then the exynoss experience which for me has been bad, terrible battery life and so on, where with the 12x i have great battery life. Camera low light better on 12x and day time a lot of preference there of course. For the software and Support Samsung.

I really think 6.6 inches is the perfect phone size
I mean, for myself I think I like this size, but for myself it is honestly hard to say what size I prefer I guess. Compact has the benefit of reaching parts of the display (well smaller then this of course) BUT at the same time it also isn't as nice to type on it, because everything is closer

Oeeeeeehhhh mmmmmm I think my preference has the 12x BUT not by much, the SD 870 is just really nice and battery life is VERRRRY good

If you want something compact compared to those, the 12X is NOT it either.
I've held this meanwhile. It's still ridiculous oversized and is still unusable with one hand without gymnastics.
Which means it's absolutely pointless. The idea of a truly compact phone is that you can do what you can't with the oversized versions. This isn't it.
It makes the same mistake as the Xperia 5III.
It claims to be compact but when it doesn't offer a better user experience one hand than the larger model, it ceases having a reason to exist.
I mean pointless, it depends on what kind of user you are I think, But yes, I do agree that great compacts should make a return.And that is why I also wanted the quotes on compact in the thumbnail haha

It wasn't a 5 minute rant, second, the rant is because the 3.5 is simply factually the far superior audio performance so no I will not move on for a feature that is better to have then they not have.

I make music and would like to occasionally plug studio quality headphones into my phone.
