the only issue is are the software updates, as Xiaomi doesn't have the same update commitment for the 12x while the 12 and 12 pro are guaranteed to have 3 years of OS updates
If one is not gonna play demanding 3D games, is Xiaomi 12 with Snap 8 gen 1 gonna be a problem still? 12X is not really that cheaper here anymore, guaranteed software updates for 12 and bidirectional wireless charging are nice additions as well
The Xiaomi 12X reminds me so much of the Xiaomi Mi 10T/Mi 10T Pro (with the compromises to lower the price). The Mi 10T/Pro has the SD865, 5,000mAh battery, LCD screen, 144hz fps, metal frame, 20MP front camera, 64MP/108MP main camera, 13MP ultrawide and 5MP macro... and it also has the (very rare nowadays) notification light. Xiaomi 12X's SD870 is a little bit faster than the SD 865.
You can not use an infrared thermometer for your thermal tests! On a reflective surface it measures the reflections. You would have to stick non reflective tape on it first or use a thermal couple.

This phone is arguably the phone of the year. I have 3 complaints about it: 1 - Price in the EU is significantly higher in EU compared to China(650e vs 500e?) 2 - In-display fingerprint sensor(personal preference of side-mounted) 3 - Curved screen(another personal preference for the flat screen) I have been waiting for your review of this one, keep it up.
I hope this will come official to Indonesia.. as if i buy it unofficially from overseas the imei will not be detected and the signal will not be appeared
Clear review. Very capable phone for its price. Any thoughts on this one compared to the basic S22? Both ''small'' form factor phones. Just wondering if the price bump of around €200 is worth it for the S22.
The S22 is smaller and has worse battery life, to be expected as the phone is alot thinner too. Camera performance is dependable on your taste, both seem adequate. It all comes down to preference (excluding the size difference) - do you want samsung bugs or xiaomi bugs? Oooor, at that price point you bite the bullet and get an iphone, in which case, you get iphone bugs.
Thank you for great video . Do you think battry life is better from s21 5g or s22 5g؟ i am not gamer and not photographer ، just a lot call and whatsapp
I have a device with a 865+ (which is what the 870 is basically a rebranded version of) and one with the 8 gen 1. Day to day use I would say the difference is minimal. But for gaming and heavy productivity, it does make quite a bit of difference and you can tell that the 8 gen 1 is 2 generations ahead.
@@Techtablets OMG! 😱😱😱 You reply. Bro I love you so much.❤️ I always like your video Specially the video stability test. Hope your reach 1M soon as possible. God bless always.🤗❤️
SD 870 may be getting older but it is still the most reliable chipset on a flagship smartphone, 12X included. Even if SD 8 Gen 1 Plus will be launched this year with better fabrication from TSMC, some companies are still sceptical about their heat efficiencies that they just stick with SD 870 for their new phones.
Phone manufacturer's must be getting huge discount for 888, 888+. Using s21 fe vs previously using poco f3, 888 vs 870, 870 is so much better chip it's insane. On s21 fe you can literally see your battery draining before your eyes.

Great video... i recently got this phone.. and its amazing .. the size of the phone is perfect. i just have one issue with it. Gmail , Chrome and phone dialer apps appear in orange color instead of the regular dark mode color.. do you have this same issue? any suggestions to fix this ? thanks.
Hi Chris, thanks for this review. I have been looking for a compact phone to upgrade my mi 9t and have a hard time finding a good one. I recently discovered the Sony 10 IV which seems to be promising in this regard (besides the 12x). Do you have any plans of reviewing it? I think there’s no other option for people who want a really compact phone (~6 inches), clear screen (no cutouts or notches), and overall respectable specs with no gimmicks.
In exact same situation with my Mi 9T. The Xperia 10 iv also has OIS for the first time in the series. Should warn you though - in the hand the 21:9 Sony phones feel weird - like a TV remote or something. The other warning is that Sony's software is actually worse than Xiaomi's when it comes to ads, bloatware etc. Doesn't get much coverage, but that was my experience with XZ1 compact.
I also own a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and wanting no cut outs or notches. 😆 It feels like a downgrade if I buy something with punch hole. I hope they make Sony 10 IV available globally.
Did you have any problems with proximity 'sensors'. I'm using three Xiaomis and each one of them dimoes have an issue with their strange, so called, sensors.
Was planning no buying gt2 but seems like it's has issues according to customers who bought it with battery drain ,poor mic quality, heat issues I guess it an overall issues with the chip which is why I am now considering buying this phone(Xiaomi 12x) or might just wait out another year. So what did u decide for been 6month since this comment .

I have the Xiaomi 12 global version love the handset, my only issue really is if uploading videos or using multiple apps it heats up bad. What makes the 12X a better phone? Great video again.

12x is actually good. But man i had F3 and change it for Mi 11T and i thought DM1200 will be not as good, but WOW...Ppl pls, don't be fooled, donct judge a book by it's cover, this DM1200 is sooo fast and in fact,i watched comparison between 11T and F3 and 11T was a little bit faster, although it gets little bit lower score than 870.And in my personal experience this Dimensity chips are sooo good.Yestarday i played with a DM8100 and man, this is just a powerhouse that doesn't overheat that much. And the DM9000 is just on another level...
Here we are in 2022 while Chris is roaming around with the Xiaomi 12x in 2029
Yes :D
in england is not coming.. This what they told me in xiaomi shop london.
I took 12..
good phone..
Only negative pron to heat bit...
Excellent review Chris and 200 thumbs up😉
Thanks 👍
This phone is arguably the phone of the year.
I have 3 complaints about it:
1 - Price in the EU is significantly higher in EU compared to China(650e vs 500e?)
2 - In-display fingerprint sensor(personal preference of side-mounted)
3 - Curved screen(another personal preference for the flat screen)
I have been waiting for your review of this one, keep it up.
I hate curved screens but this curve is very nice and has edge sensitivity settings.
S21 fe also not bad
Thanks for covering this. Greetings from Scotland.
I wondering how an older Galaxy S21 compares. Can get used (almost new) for 380-450 bucks, with still 3 more years of updates to come.
xiaomi seem to be coming out too many models , should concentrate on a few models to perfect it then launch many models
I agree, far too many releases and people are getting confused.
@@thecrionic Managed to pick up a 12X for half the price of a S22. Should be fine for my use cases.
As always appreciate your thorough review. Would you please do the androbench test on this device ?
Thank you for great video .
Do you think battry life is better from s21 5g or s22 5g؟ i am not gamer and not photographer ، just a lot call and whatsapp
I have a device with a 865+ (which is what the 870 is basically a rebranded version of) and one with the 8 gen 1.
Day to day use I would say the difference is minimal. But for gaming and heavy productivity, it does make quite a bit of difference and you can tell that the 8 gen 1 is 2 generations ahead.
Even for long period of time when you do gaming? Or ocasional gaming?
good phone, but its not that great value like before, +500$ ..
I think the gpu in new qualcomm phones go on wrong way, more power usage, and more heat
someone who doesn't clickbait people and actually states a real fact on the title? what a time to be alive lol
Very good and honest review. Appreciate it.
Thanks for watching!
What about if I had to exchange my mi 11 lite ne 5g with this. Is that option available???
SIR PLEASE WATCH 10:50 YOU SAID 2029. 🙂 JUST WANT TO CORRECT IT.
BY THE WAY I ALWAYS LOVE YOUR VIDEO AND I'M A LONG TIME SUBSCRIBER.
Yes my brain messed up it's okay you and hundreds of other can correct me as if I don't knownita 2022 😅😂
@@Techtablets OMG! 😱😱😱
You reply. Bro I love you so much.❤️
I always like your video Specially the video stability test. Hope your reach 1M soon as possible.
God bless always.🤗❤️
Where can you buy this in the UK?
Amazing phone byt then I looked up their Android OS support. Hard pass, shame on them.
Excellent review! Very detailed and informative! Do you know if it has an option for shooting videos in log, as the 11t pro has for example?
SD 870 may be getting older but it is still the most reliable chipset on a flagship smartphone, 12X included. Even if SD 8 Gen 1 Plus will be launched this year with better fabrication from TSMC, some companies are still sceptical about their heat efficiencies that they just stick with SD 870 for their new phones.
Thank you, that's the way I like tech reviews...
Don't geht a sunburn after all the rain ;)
Good to know!
Which one would you prefere compared to realme GT2 Pro concerning especially camera quality
Which you choosed?
I wish this model had the same guaranteed 3 years of software support as the 12 and pro, otherwise its a great phone
Yes that's a shame
I'd to know the capabilities in terms of slow motion recording, does it have 4k 120 Hz?
Hi, great review, is the phone used in your video Blue or Purple? Thanks.
Hi Chris, forums are full of problems with the non-existant proximity sensor of xiaomi phones. What is your take on that? Any issues?
Your opinions are the best and highly valued
Thank you
Phone manufacturer's must be getting huge discount for 888, 888+. Using s21 fe vs previously using poco f3, 888 vs 870, 870 is so much better chip it's insane. On s21 fe you can literally see your battery draining before your eyes.
So what should I but? 12x or s21 fe?
@@salimsimou2487Go for the 12X. I'm also eyeing this phone but I am skeptical about MIUI and want clear transparency about the update policy for the 12X.
@@laytonruby2239 450 dollars for both 12x s21fe i'm confused haha so really i don't know yet but thanks !
Does it support 3.5mm jack when adaptor is used?
this looks like could be a good replacement for my redmi note ten pro which ive had over two yrs.the size is abit more compact. but im having hard time finding one in the uk for a decent price.
Nice review mate , always exactly what need to know for a decision 👍
Thanks for watching
the biggest problem is the price. too close to the snapdragon 8 gen 1 version.
What about callings? No proximity sensor?
How are the low light videos? Missed them on this video!
how does it compare to the normal 12? the lack of wireless charging is a bit of bummer, beside that, current mi note 10 does everything I need, but I like how compact 12 is and other features
It runs a lot cooler and throttles a lot less plus is cheaper. Otherwise the 12 is faster in benchmarks and ahs the wireless charging.
@@Techtablets I might be emulator gaming instead of benchmarks or Genshin Impact, probably dolphin, will it be as bad too?
What does it mean Audio tuned by AKG, Harmin etc ?
Thank you so much for this awesome review, so in-depth and detailed!
Any decent compact phones in lower prices (budget or midrange)?
im using this phone for over 10 months but howly shit i want another one keeps restarting on its own almost evry week freezes alot when using surten apps
Where can I get this in Bangkok? They seem to have only the xiaomi 12, not the 12X
Great video... i recently got this phone.. and its amazing .. the size of the phone is perfect. i just have one issue with it. Gmail , Chrome and phone dialer apps appear in orange color instead of the regular dark mode color.. do you have this same issue? any suggestions to fix this ? thanks.
It changes or adapts to the color of present wallpaper.
HI it seems like a good option that 10 IV, but no plans to review it sorry.
I bought the zenfone 8 exactly because of the size. Perfect phone size but the camera is a bit shit especially at night.
Hi, no on this unit no, but on other POCO phones.
No doubt, absolutely better than the pro version. Unfortunately xiaomi doesn't sell it in indonesia 😤
Oh that's a shame!
@14:07 my niece is little younger but she just looks like your daughter. She i beauty. Love the video too
That's great
how many phones have video on usb-c ? its some kind of update will help ?
poco f3 و a52s و 11t pro و 11t و 12xوs21 fe ? What is your choice between these?
Does the Mi12X has symetrical bezel like S22 series?
So, realme gt2 or xiaomi 12x, which one would you go for?
Was planning no buying gt2 but seems like it's has issues according to customers who bought it with battery drain ,poor mic quality, heat issues I guess it an overall issues with the chip which is why I am now considering buying this phone(Xiaomi 12x) or might just wait out another year.
So what did u decide for been 6month since this comment .
Better phone overall? Xiaomi 12x or Xiaomi 11t pro
12x. Better support
@@ShynobieX when it comes to support as in updates, mi11t pro is guaranteed to have 3 yrs OS update and 4 yrs security update while 12x is the only one in the 12 series that doesn't have that guarantee
@@timcocos3724 as in the newer flagship phones tend to get more up to date security and software updates. It's apparent when you see the latest miui being rolled out to the Xiaomi 12 series first before the 11
Still in doubt between Xiaomi 12 at €230 new or Xiaomi 12X new at €200.. mainly used for social media, photos, texting, UA-cam and video streaming. No gaming
I have the Xiaomi 12 global version love the handset, my only issue really is if uploading videos or using multiple apps it heats up bad. What makes the 12X a better phone? Great video again.
It doesn't throttle as much or hat up like the 12. Which I have also reviewed and it's cheaper that the 12 and 12 Pro.
@@Techtablets good point!!
I feel that Xiaomi 12X is not quite worth the upgrade from my current Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE after watching your review. Its a good phone for upgrading from older Xiaomi though.
You have a best there. The Xiaomi 11 lite NE was one of a kind
What about camera and video
Hello good job
Just one thing, u should review the pictures yourself tho
Makes the videos too long I once did that and people prefer a slide show with samples not me talking over it
Im confused between the Xiaomi 12x and Pixel 6, its just 40$ difference in my region
Snapdragon 870 is much more supperior than 8 Gen1 or 888
