I'm really considering getting this phone. I want a phone that feels new and modern and with great cameras, but I really don't want an 8 Gen 1 or 888 processor because of the overheating issues. I've had phones that warmed up to really annoying levels in the past and I really don't want to experience that again. So, by looking at phones with snapdragon 870 processors, the Xiaomi 12X looks like one of the best value-for-money options with the most complete packages (performance, battery, and camera). I'm coming from a Huawei Mate 10 Pro and the dimensions of both phones are almost an exact copy, but with a bigger screen on the Xiaomi 12X, so it sounds like a great option for me :)
Great video. In my opinion this is the best compact phone out now. I'm glad 5G works here in the states. The battery life is a strength as well for such a small device.
Hi, can you please review the virtual proximity sensor since there's a lot of complaints. Would be really helpful to know how the AI sensor fare out against real proximity sensors. Cheers buddy!

If the phone had a proper telephoto lense with optical zoom, ip68 and usb 3 then it would be ideal. I am currently wrestling with 3 options (12x , zenfone 8, mate 20 pro)

Well I am not spending €700 anymore. Why? Because my Xiaomi 11lite5G, Realme x2pro and Poco F2 I all bought under €400 and they all do what they need to do for me. All of them are NOT supported by my car, Skoda Octavia 4, so I found out. But I noticed Samsung was working, so I bought an M22 (€219) and that cheap phone works like a charm on my car. So now I use it as my main phone, and guess what? It still does everything I want. (yes picures could be better in the dark, but that's it) Who would have thought I could live with 4GB/128GB and 60Hz(instead of 90Hz). Apparently I can (no gamer at all, well solitary and bubble shooter). The only downside is for me still a big screen (6.4") and the heavy weight and the not so fast charging, but I manage one day . The only new phone out there, which has a small screen is from a fruit company. And I don't like fruit. My dream phone would be 5.5", weight about 130 grams and fast charging. Since 5G is expensive and is not really faster (till now) I am happy with a good 4G chip, like an old SD855. Am I the only one?

You have Google Pixel, Samsung S22 and specially Asus zenfone 8 and 7... And all are amazing phones... Still I agree in not buying it for 700 euros. But well is Xiaomi and in 3 months you have it for 200 less...
Really tempted to get this but waiting for launch price (tomorrow) as pricing here is almost half as what EU is getting. Hope they'll price it around 390 Euros. The screen size and form factor is what I'm looking for, not a big fan of huge phones.
Fingers crossed. I also hope they won't price it above 400 euros, otherwise it'll be too expensive. There is a lot of great phones in this price range (Nord 2, GT Neo 2, A52s 5G), so hopefully Xiaomi won't go wild with the price.
The phone is amazing but not worth 700 euros. Xiaomi did a terrible move increasing prices. This phone should be max 500 euros on release cause they will make many move to Realme and to other companies. I hope they really drop the price in a few months or release a Redmi alternative.

If you look at the specs on GSMArena the 12 and 12pro had virtual proximity sensors while the 12x has the standard IR one. So I think it should work fine.
@@Ryuseigan 12x also has a virtual proximity sensor which doesn't work closely with correctly. There are videos online showing this and also it's mentioned in many reviews

Go with 12x since youre not mibile gamer. only thing thats missing in the 12X is wireless charging.
Got my 12X for 1 month and it's a really good phone (even if I had to wait 1 week for the Xiaomi bypass to put a custom firmware)

you skipped the IP53 part. That is also a downside. But nothing major.
