    I think It's amazing how you can discuss Nabokov's 'Pale Fire' and be a baby sitting Daddy at the same time.

    During this pandemic, I finally got around to reading Pale Fire. I actually love the poem and have memorized the first 2 cantos. Lol. I'm shooting for the 3rd.

    Quite enjoying this. I'd love to hear your take on Gene Wolfe's "Peace", as he's the only writer I know who equals or surpasses Nabokov for this sort of skulduggery.

    I'm reading pale fire right now. So this helps get my head around it. Ive never read a book like it. Tbh
    I read laughter in the dark and loved it. I'm just getting into his writing. Thx

    Wonderful lecture series, and totally agree here. In fact, I think the “Uttana” reference is the author (be it Kinbote, or Botkin, or VN) giving the reader permission to go along on the journey free from needing to discover some extra-textual “truth.” Here, now, in this book, everything is allowed to be real. Because when it ends... everything does.
    Looking fwd to checking out yr other lectures. And nice to see your kid in the frame too. Dads gotta multitask.
