Reaction to iRO Chaos and Thor service suspension

I just kinda knee-jerk responded to this as I was reading it. So its a little scattered (not like I am always scattered anyways). But also it doesn't have the normal "youtube enthusiasm" because I am literally just talking about what Im thinking. Sorry I have a super monotone voice so the tone sounds like I'm really down about it, and comes off as more broken up than I actually am. Its not a big deal / the sky isn't falling. But the best we can do is watch and wait.

It's hard for me to understand why they need 2 months of downtime to implement a 'huge update'. It's a long time, people will start to play other games between this period and will probably lost the desire to play iRO again (especially if the 'big update' doesn't include items relevant to them).
Why not implement parts of the update between weeks? This would be much more plausible and keep players more interested in continuing to play on the server. IMO

It definitely seems like a strategy to funnel their RO playerbase into their new game title. By taking away RO and presenting a RO lookalike / clone as something to "try out" in the meantime. Being promised updates by a certain date and kRO not delivering, name a more iconic duo. The "class balance update" for RK and Mech was delayed like 3 months or something and that was just 1 update. Its just a little hard to believe that we are getting 10+ updates at once (on time to boot).

I will feel kind of cheated if they close iRo, they made this game a p2w thing and still I spend a lot of money thinking that I was helping to make support for the game and this is how we get paid saying that they are gonna make this “new service game”? Damn x__x i just feel im just gonna stop playing for now until this “new game service” thing comes up and see how is going to be and see if its worth to spend money again...
anyway I really hope that this new improvements works well for the good of all of us in RO community and make this game more fun then.

I would definitely not recommend renewing a subscription to RO1 until we get more information. I would use the time between now and then to enjoy the game and take a lot of screenshots with your favorite characters / locations. Just in case the unexpected happens.

I don't know... it looks like a loot of bullshit, 3 months for QoL updates?, nothing about 2nd and 3rd skills balance?, i never heard about kRO, jRO or even bRO (which are behind of us in terms of updates but already have Nightmare OGH) getting closed for 3 months. Something doesn't smell good about it.

I have to agree, I am skeptical that after months / years of asking for some of the oldest patches out there we get nothing and now we are getting a huge batch. I am curious to see the exact updates that are picked out in an itemized list. I have no idea what new game service they are talking about but it almost seems like they want to close iRO for a bit to see if we are willing to jump over to their new thing so they can just keep it closed without hurting our feelings. But that could be my tin foil hat talking. No idea how closing the game for a few months will help them pay for these updates or help them keep the lights on.
