My best friend’s first house was a RAP house, it was gorgeous, had built-in architectural shelves and the kitchen had black and white checkered floors, I loved staying with her, love that whole area!
Very cool and interesting about the old house. I live in a small town and there’s a lot of houses from the late 1800’s. We toured some but they wouldn’t have worked out for us bc of our elderly parents moving in with us. Our house is only 63 years old but has some interesting features.
I really enjoyed learning about the history of your house a little bit. Love the "hieroglyphs"! LOL Metal weather stripping makes sense for the time. I would have overlooked this, had you not pointed it out! Your house really is beautiful! I like your style! I would love to hear more about stuff like this sprinkled into your videos. So cool! Abbie figured out the reel rather quickly! Priscilla has the best Woot ever! Every time she woots, I have to smile! LOL Take care, my friends!
Exciting new decoration. I love newly decorated rooms. I put my Christmas tree up. And outside lights today. I am super early this year. It’s all the vlog mass that’s going on ! Instant inspiration..🤣🎄👍♥
Lol...that loud sound after you were talking about chaos....lol...Abbie looked at you like HERE IS MY WORK DAD!!!! YOU CANT HEAR ME BUT IM SCREAMING OVER THAT CHAOTIC SOUND!!!
My mom and dad have been in our family house for 40 years now. But the house it self is over 300 years old. I found a check Book in the walls from the year 1800,s. There was a Ford truck payment for $40. Lol
As soon as I heard that sanding, my A.D.D. brain went Absolutely,Nope!!! Not happening. Complete sensory overload and extremely distracting. I wear those same type of noise canceling headphones when mowing the lawn and leaf blowing. Similar type of sound compared to the sander. The sound literally makes my senses go off like giant firecrackers in my brain without them. The noise canceling headphones also allow me to still listen to whatever on my AirPods at the same time. It drowns out more of the noise then, and I can still get tasks done.
So Cilla is right . The brass strips were on exterior doors. Our house is from the early 1900s farmhouse and the doors that were exterior doors in here have the brass strips which were used to keep the door sealed
They definitely used brass as weather strips on exterior doors but these French doors were always interior doors. It wouldnt have made sense if both French doors on either side of the foyer were exterior doors. There’s an entire story of the house above the rooms they go to that is original construction. If those were exterior doors the. There would have been three exterior doors within 10 feet of each other in the front of the house and the house would have only been 10 feet wide. That would be a goofy house!
I so agree with keeping the momentum going. When we were doing homeschooling during COVID it was a challenge at first for me to get into a routine. Quickly we got the routine down. We did School from 8:00 a.m. till 2:30 p.m.. with lunch at 11:30 till 12:30. I am so thankful for my background working with grade school age special needs and adults with special needs. There was an hour a day that we had online with the teacher and one of my daughters peers and their Paras. We would work on story time and socialization. I did feel bad for the teacher she was so overwhelmed and didn't really know how to work with the kids online. I stepped in and coordinated with the teacher and made the schedule for the kids. All honesty I feel my daughter was learning more homeschooled than actually in school right now. If it wasn't for how important socialization is I would choose homeschooling.
Being from Massachusetts I'm totally not being mean but found it mildly amusing 1923 being historical. My house is 1936 and I've never thought of it that way from living in the area of the begining of the settlements. But for Florida I suppose it would be historical. I guess I'm living in old history spoiled haha. Your house is beautiful
We are having the same problems here in the UK with painters, landscape, joiners and electricians take when we can or it's months ahead we also have problems with staff shortages all over.
And this way, the hallway will be done before entertaining during the holidays. The one thing I kept thinking is all the dust coming from the stripping of of the wall paper. I hope they taped plastic up as much as possible to contain it all to just the entry way area. Your going to love it! Can’t wait to see the finished product😁
Happy December 1, 2022 When my daughter has home school work to do, she offen try to get out of it. By pointing outside, cause she wants to go for a car ride.
Just a thought , what about having Abby use her talker to name the colors that the spinner lands on? Or would that be too many steps for her in the game?🙂💜
Just curious. Was if it difficult to get the contractors because of all the hurricane/flood damage that happened there recently? I mean, I would totally understand if that was the case.
Excuse me if I ask , why abbie looks on her right side ? Is there something there that grabs her attention? I ' ve noticed she does it often . I'm amazed to see how your daughter is progressing , home schooling. Is the best for her . From the distance of the screen it seems to me that her major problem is focusing and maybe a little of receptive language disorder . Could adhd medication improve her focus ? You probably already know that the two diagnosis are often both present . I hope my comment doen't sound blasphemous ,i just try to help . I live in italy and i 've grown to care a lot about your beautiful family . Thank you for posting your videos . Ciao

She HATED the fishing game, I get buying it and trying it but if you have to force the magnet to the fish it’s too much. Why not start with just letting her catch whatever one she wants and move forward

4 whole years? Not like 17 years of hands on experience, or 10 years of parent training from Applied Behavioral Analysis therapists, or seminars and parent training courses though? Clearly the more qualified person is the person that read how to teach from a book and wrote a paper on it. I’m well aware it’s a ridiculous response but it’s a ridiculous stance to take. Let’s set aside the fact that she’s learning life skills, receiving occupational therapy, ABA therapy, and speech therapy while homeschooling and just go off of statistics. Homeschooled students out perform public school students by significant margins. Just because the subject matter is different doesn’t mean that Abbie’s experience would be any different does it? They don’t teach you in college what we do at home. We are teaching her skills to gain independence, not Algebra. Speaking of algebra, do you really think kids learning things are just full of smiles all the time? She fusses when she doesn’t like something or doesn’t want to do something because that’s how she communicates and because she has no filter.
But circa means approximately. You might say “built circa 1923” but not “circa 1923”. I know that’s what they often use on the brass placards but it’s incorrect
Abbie clearly finds fishing as interesting as I do 🤣❤️
Hello everyone ♥️♥️♥️ Abbie was NOT having that fishing game. I think fishing is boring too Abbie 🤣🤣🤣

Lol same! 🤣🤣 I hope your evening is wonderful! 💚

Hello beautiful Maass family!!🥰❤😘
We had horsehair plaster in the house I grew up in (Massachusetts).
i'm super interested in your old home, and what you find underneath and inside! do you have an attic?
Now you need to get a scratching post.
They have one she just preferred the walls🤣
I love your family's kindness and patience. So refreshing. Thanks for your realness!
My house has same plastering.( mud ). My house has had a re skim of plaster. 👍
As a cynic by nature when you said "yeah, maybe a brass plaque" I though "and paint it white to match the interior"😅🥰 much love from Coden, Alabama

We had our kitchen remodeled. We had to wait for 5 months! 1st, to find a contractor, 2nd, to find the materials, 3rd to find the money!

Maybe if there is one particular area where Nala scratches, some kind of scratching board could be put on that part of the wall. Blessings to you all.
You should definitely get a plaque for beside/over your door that says Est. 1923
Not Asa thinking Cilla’s plaque idea was weird but thinking his electrical wiring facts were the bee’s knees 😂😂😂😂
House redo is no fun. But love it after.
How does Abbie deal with loud noises it’s awful for my ears hearing a drill or anything like that it makes me feel upset

Oh that noise and chaos would be a hard pass for my son. He would be retreating to his room.
Bless you Cilla. 😄😄
Love you guys!
❤❤❤❤❤
Do you think maybe she is associating the orange fish to the fish she feeds every morning?
Table tasks are a great transitional activity; is that what you're trying to say Asa?
It's crazy over there a 100 year old house is old I'm in England and the house next door was built in 1685,
I can clearly hear her say blue after you say it. Might wanna listen back. U probably know anyway, but thought it was cool 😎!
Theres some channel talking very negatively about Abby and Yalls family channel. I hope there can be some clarity for us whom support you guys!
Prisella doesn’t care about the wiring🤣
She seems to have already forgotten her colors. He shows her the colors.
Are you painting or wallpapering again?
Here I've thought this whole time you all put that wall paper up when you moved in. I think I would paint instead of paper again.
Is Surgur Plum coming back this year?
I don't think Abbie was in the mood to go fishing today LOL 😂 but that was a pretty cool little learning game.
It is called burlap wallpaper😊
Imagine if she had a real fishing pole. She might go fishing in your pond.
Are you doing vlogmass this year then
not the grasscloth wallpaper!!😢😫
Make sure u get all that glue off the walls, if ur going to paint it won’t stay if glue is on the walls
Abbey is so not interested in fishing.
I bet that door with the copper went out to what used to be a sleeping porch.
No, the porch was where our office is. The main floor up to the half wall in the kitchen is all original construction.
It’s mom that wants a plaque outside of her house she is she funny Asa get her the plaque

The oldest in England is 12th century.
What does her grunting/vocalization mean?
Sounds like she was disgruntled having to do a task she didn’t like or understand.
I was going to say anxious
Common Abbey did not like that game.... ... It's okay to say we might try it later... But even I was over steming....
im 30 seconds in and i've been dreading this day!!!!!!!! i LOVE that wallpaper, but i guess i'll just have to get it for myself
Love her fish bubbles😊

Miss Abigail is stubborn. But that’s okay because one day it will help her be determined.

She needs a real teacher who went to school for four years to learn how to teach kids that are not typical. She is clearly showing she hates it!
