I probably need a new Bible, but I’ve had this one since the 80’s and I have so many notes, prayer requests for my family, dates written in it…. You have to let the ice maker run and make ice until it's full then dump that ice. Also, run water through the tap part, but only after you change the filter. Yes, there is a filter. Lastly, the problem could have been just the pipes and such in the old house. But, likely, in my opinion only, it's needing a filter. 😉
I look forward to the rest of the tour. Have a blessed evening!

    • @denisejones1863
      @denisejones1863 2 роки тому +3

Yes I would let it cycle through some ice and water, change the filter and plastic hose from wall to fridge. I'm sure you can look online at your brand and trouble shoot it. I bought my fridge without icemaker and water, I hated the mess of the ice everywhere. We use a ice maker from Costco that make tube ice.

I'm so happy for you and your family that you moved into a bigger house. It gives the children more room to roam. While I'm sure that you cherish the memories that you made at your little house, you will once again make new memories to cherish here. Never worry about your house being "perfectly" clean. It's much more important to spend the time with your children. They will grow up and eventually leave the nest, but the house will still be there. I respect the fact that you are letting your kids be kids!

I think I literally have that fridge, Jessa. What I had someone else do is replace the filter, replace the hose in the back for a new one, re-attach everything, then let the water run for 3-4 pitchers of water and dump it out completely until it runs clear. Then throw out the first batch of ice and sometimes even the 2nd if it isn't clear. The repairman said that a lot of people will simply replace the filter but then not let the water run through and that's how you get that icky taste.
    Good luck!

Jessa, the dining table is beautiful as is the entire home you have created! Good job! You might consider getting those round felt pads (they stick on) for the legs so they slide easily on your floor and won't scratch it. You can also get square ones and put two on the each of the bottoms of the bench for easy sliding. I use them on all my furniture. There is also something called chairs socks for the legs of chairs but the pads don't show and are hidden and look better. Just a suggestion for you. Teresa (Nashville, TN)

Don't worry about the microwave is healthier to heat up food in the stove or oven. And the fridge matches the stove because the stove has stainless still. Just keep your eyes open for a fridge you like and when this one doesn't run anymore you change it. Or if the one you like goes on sale maybe you can sell this one and buy the other one.

I agree about the fridge and over blending in is perfect. I would not paint your fridge. As others have said the fridge is exactly the same color as your stove handles and ties it all together. 😊

A welcoming home filled with love and comfort. Thank you for sharing Jessa! I love how you kept the cabinet door artwork on the island, which looks like a beautiful woman in the upper right corner. Hope you will now see her too!! Blessings to you and your whole family.

I LOVE the white and silver appliances! Looks so clean, chic and modern. I think the fridge looks fantastic with the stove--maybe consider getting a silver pull bar for the dishwasher (honestly don't know if that is possible) and it would blend more harmoniously with the stove and the fridge. Peace and love! 💓

Hi Jessa, , You sure have a nice roomy home now. I'm happy for you! I too have my freezer in my second bedroom/office. See you are not the only one because what would we do without them?
I have a couple decor basics to share with you. When you pick your rug, try to get one with colors from your sofas or chairs.
It would look much more thought out and cohesive. I love all of your plants as bringing nature in always warms up your home.
I think that you need some more color here and there. It makes your eye stop and ponder. I always make sure to use mirrors or pictures in round, oval, etc as you have so many straight lines as I do too. Another idea is a coffee table, plants or something of color on your island and your beautiful dining table. It just makes things look interesting, warm & lived in. Ok bye for now, you all take care and enjoy your life in your new home. Hugs! If you're worried about the children bumping themselves on the coffee table, get one of two side by side tables with rollers on the bottom so you can slide them here and there where needed.

You should put the kids water color art and have it all framed in a giant frame, that would looks so cool!

Thank you for sharing your home! It’s beautiful. I really like your taste in simplicity/minimalism. Also very impressed with your practicality. There is definitely so much more to life than just things! Honestly if it works for you and your family then that is all that matters. I also appreciate that you kept your tour real and didn’t worry about the everyday normal messes we all have in a daily basis. Again thank you for sharing!

I love let me be a woman by Elizabeth Elliot…such a good book :) Also I love that Jessa calls Fern “sis” lol it’s so cute 🤍✨✨ That’s the type of teacher I was and mom I hope to be lol. I would tell my female students, “heyyy girl, good morning!! how are you?!!” Or “ Ok sis, are we good? We ok?” Lol 😅

For the electrical panel, why not a cork board on a hinge rather than a mirror. That way, you have a place to display all of your kiddo's art work rather than on the wall. House is very pretty.

I use an old picture frame and put coordinating fabric on the cork to match my decor. When I’m tired of the look in my house, I also change out my cork board fabric. It’s a super cheap way to update the look and it’s practical. It will be very easy to add hinges on to access the panel but if the picture frame is big enough to cover the panel than you certainly can just hang it like a regular frame.

So in awe of your table! Love the bench. We are a family of 6 and our dining room is tiny, barely big enough for a table and 4 chairs. Currently redoing a table from my mother in law. Painting it and recovering the chairs. And we will slide it up to our bay window, treating it as a bench for more seating.
