Wow, , that particular instrument sounds so sweet, , , I love this wood combination as well as cedar and walnut, , it seems you can't go wrong with anything that Lowden would build.
Doug I can't stop looking at this review. You are realy one fine player and that 0-22C sounds wonderfull, one of the best guitar sounds I've heard so far...of course there are many good guitar out there, but this series with that special big body and mahagaony it is truly "big sound" Great guitar.
I would LOVE to own a Lowden....I think there is something to the pinless bridge...I have a 22 year old Taylor 414 which at the time was their budget model...it has a pinless bridge and is very loud and has always had a slight Lowden ish sound to my ears....I know it's no where near a Lowden but I think they are on to something with the pi less bridge...
Great review, Doug - as a Lowden player I wholeheartedly agree. However, so many folk talk of "that classic Lowden tone". Although every Lowden has a sound that is distinct, they're not all the same. For me, the archetypal "Lowden sound" comes from my O22 and it's a sound that "embraces" the listener. Sometimes I need a sound that "hits" the listener and get that best from my F32c. They both sound like Lowdens but it's not the same sound! Thanks - wish I could play mine as well as you do!
I've played one O-22 (no cutaway). I strum pretty aggressively/rhythmically, so I prefer a deeper sound. The mahogany doesn't normally give me the acoustic depth I like, but with the bigger body, it makes up for it and stays clear. It is still the first high-end guitar I fell in love with because of the balance and clarity. A very, smooth, "pretty" sounding guitar. I do not play fingerstyle, though I flatpick as well as strum. Seems the right guitar for most of my applications. Beautiful.
Your videos and tone are always great. Thank you for your efforts.

What strings does Lowden guitars generally ship with? And this one specifically?
Nice, Doug!

what's the difference between this O22C and the discontinued O10 besides cutaway?
