The top is cedar, but I'm not sure about the back and sides, to me it looks like cuban mahogany. As for what the best woods are, that is entirely up to you. Fan frets don't really affect the tone of the guitar, so whatever woods you would usually go for would be just as good. For an F model, which has a more focused and direct sound, you have to think what woods you think would compliment it. Do you want a more complex wood like cocobolo to give it more 3 dimensional qualities, or do you want to accentuate it's precision and articulation with a wood like rosewood, or something else? IMO, choose your tonewoods first, because that is going to make the biggest difference to the sound.
I look forward to hear something about the long and short saddles at the bridges. Takamine from Japan seems to use the same principle in designing its saddles. Is this much better than complicated saddle and why?
If I hadn't already bought two I'd have to buy one of these RIGHT NOW! Great demo.
what did you buy?
I heard the gift of giving can be even more rewarding. And I happen to be in need of a lowden guitar
Lowden tone rich betters that Martins or Taylors guitars....
Eduardo Yanes pre war Martin guitars are very pure and sound very good for flatpicking
Please, which tone woods has the fan fret guitar? And what the best tone woods for fan fret in an F model? Please let me know! Thanks
