    I have already replaced practically my entire chain of third-party plugins with native Steiberg plugins and I am very satisfied with this choice. I migrated from protools to Cubase last year and I consider it one of the most significant choices to date. I just have to thank the entire Steinberg team for these incredible tools.

    When Waves lost their collective mind early last year, I made a conscious decision to move away from the little of their stuff I was still interested in using. RVox was really the last one that I was considering so this new STOCK plugin for Cubase 13 is awesome! I have yet to try it in 13 but this will be at the top of the list.
    You're awesome, Dom :)

      @@plasticsoul9051 Waves SUDDENLY switched to a subscription model. Many customers were peed off, so Waves back-tracked and did what they should've done in the first place: offer both perpetual AND subscription.

    Hello Dom,
    thanks for the great video. I also think the VoxComp is very good and think that I will use it very often in the future. But the most important thing is, no matter how you mix, “if it sounds good, it’s right.”
    Thanks and keep it up.

    Guilty as charged, Serial user and abuser of my 'go-to' RVox for years, great point at 8:00. Doubt kills creativity. Admittedly my muscle memory may need radical weaning-off RVox if at all, but as @HugoVarvoglis has said, Cubase is killin' it with the additional vocal plugins/fxs and Instruments from 10.5 to 13 in my humble opinion. Great tools in the box for real. Bless up Dom!🙏

    Hi Dom, I left Cubase in 2012 for Studio One and never looked back with any regret. I believe there is somthing new to learn from every one no matter what Daw they use. I watch your videos once in a while and really enjoy what you bring to the table.👍

      P. S. former S1 hardcore user here. Now back on Cubase 12/13 - and finally veeery happy. Cubase is way more fun to record, edit midi, compose with big projects. Cubase mixer is the best on the daw market, I must say. I prefer Cubase great inspiring stock pro fx and modern sample content over the lame S1 stuff. Can't live without the fast creative SamplerTrack, MediaBay, Control Room e.g. and Cubase Midi Editor capabilities are top notch, e.g. Verve Piano, all the Halion Synths and the new C13 unique 5 GB Sketch Orchestra Sounds are absolutely stunning! S1 is only copying from other daws, there are no innovations.
      I can only recommend that you take a closer look at the modern Cubase. A LOT has happened at Steinberg in the last 10 years. Cubase now has so many functions that have made S1 great back then. It is absolutely worth it to check the newest Cubase version.

    Haven't been able to try voxcomp yet, but i sure think it could be a Rvox killer, it seems to sound really good. I use a little bit of Rvox on almost all vocals but as I'm trying to replace my Waves plugs (Don't trust that company anymore since their dirty move last year) I am looking for a good replacement. Love the fact though that you have a gate in Rvox that I think is very useful, but the possibility to use Voxcomp in parallel is also cool. Throw in a gate and we are home :-)

    Hi, I'm a bass player and I produce instrumental music where the melody is played by the bass, sometimes 6 strings and sometimes fretless, I use voxcomp on my melodic bass tracks and it works great!
    I believe that bass (played melodically and in the upper register) has similar characteristics to vocals so voxcomp helps me keep it well level and present in the mix.

    Yep, vox comp is great. Used it one of my recent cover tracks (Africa with Thomas Leypoldt). I have RVox too, but it boosts volume too much, RComp is more useful to me than RVox, but Vox Comp (for vocals) is better than both, Though I still use RComp on instruments.

    I use RVox in my Discord/game-voice chain because of its gate, plus Bertom Denoiser Pro, a good compressor, a competent deesser in the form of ReaComp and a dynamic EQ. No latency, or one block at most. I can replicate RVox compression with Pro-C2 and ReaComp. I like a little more control, but that's the mixing engineer in me. Btw, Bertom release an RVox-like compressor a while ago too. If you find good use for it, you might want to shoot him $10+.

    Level match when you test your plugin and when you're experimenting and not sure about the result. But when you're mixing follow your instincts, gonna be way more productive and have better mixes (That's why is good to know your tools and have limited tools if it need it!)

    Total beginner here Im an old guy just fooling around with a Daw, the whole modern mixing of music seems to me to be totally overdone, its like engraving an Oak tree with a microscope when the public drives by and only sees the Oak tree, Ive watched a bunch of these and I cant hear 80% of adjustments and Im betting without the super headphones or studio speakers the public wont either, its like mixing gets hyper-focused on a note and loses the song, I have done a lot with imagery and see the music thing like scratching around at pixel level where it's not needed, working with an image it's easy to get hyperfocused on a single hair but its time wasted and doesn't do a thing to the overall end product that the vast majority of viewers see, or hear, as a whole its either a good image or song or its not, and when its not no number of adjustments will make it good but it easy to get lost in adjustments forever while the end viewer makes a judgment instantly. Look at AI imagery its looks fantastic because it does one thing perfect, it nails the lighting which is instantly appealing and the majority wont notice the technical faults within the image, it just instantly appeals because of lighting, what is the lighting of music.
    To me its like the guys at the top use micro processing and make hits, the raw song having lighting that was very close to begin with, what the guy at the top uses filters on down to the guy in the basement who is hyperventilating over which of his 150 plugins will he use on that note that only he hears.

      Rvox does not have auto gain- from this perspective they work exactly in the same way. Plus, VoxComp has the inputs and output meters located nicely on top of each other. Also check the section of my video about auto gain. I don’t think this is the endgame at all anyway.

    • @Animetrix-WAV
      @Animetrix-WAV 4 місяці тому

      @@DomSigalas the thing is that I can control Gain and Threshold of the RVOX at the same time. I cant do this with VoxComp. So at the end: there is auto-gain on the RVOX if you know how to use it.

    • @DomSigalas
      @DomSigalas  4 місяці тому +1
